In the real world, as the evening arrived, Mikael's mother returned home from work early. She was going to prepare a surprise dinner for her son as it had been a while since they had something special together.
At first, the idea was to go to a nearby restaurant but then, recalling the financial situation they had, she decided to save the money for Mikael's college later. Right now, the least she could do was to prepare a few of his favourite meals that he would enjoy.
"Seems like he is still playing that game," she mumbled as she saw the silent house and then the blue lights coming out of Mikael's room.

Opening the door she saw him lying on the bed with his headset on, while a smile was plastered on his face.
He seems to be having fun. She chuckled a bit before moving to the kitchen area, preparing for tonight's meal.
Just like any other mother, she did have concerns over her child playing a game all day long without any pause, but then she recalled what a few of her colleagues from work had told her about it.
Can we really earn money from this game? She gave it deep thought without reaching any conclusion. And then as she realised she couldn't make any head or tail of it, she gave up thinking.
As long as he is having fun, I guess it's fine to let him play. She concluded as she hummed before focusing back on the ingredients.

[Location: Inara Settlement!]
Looking at the Zombies, I observed their levels increasing with each wave while their numbers decreased.
There were 81 Level 2 Zombies in the next wave.
64 Level 3 ones in the 3rd wave.
49 Level 4 ones in the 4th wave.
36 Level 5 ones in the 5th wave.
25 Level 6 ones in the 6th wave.
And as I looked at the total number, I also understood the pattern that was forming with each wave. In essence, each level was increasing by one by each wave with every third wave giving the zombies one additional skill and a piece of equipment.
The number of zombies on the other hand started with the square of 10, decreasing by one each wave to squares of 9, 8, 7 and so on.
Based on this pattern, the last wave should have a Level 10 Zombies, most probably heavily equipped. Accordingly, I should also expect him to have a specific class as well. I focused on the next few waves as I killed the Level 6 Zombies, finally helping me increase my experience somewhat.
If I can keep this pace, I can reach Level 9 by the 9th wave. Reducing the level suppression from a gap of 2 levels to 1 level was going to be a huge game-changer for me. After all, there was a high chance that I wouldn't be able to do even a single digit damage to the Level 10 heavily equipped Zombie if I were only level 8 by then.
I then looked at the other three. Raven was barely surviving, she should be able to handle another wave but that should be her limit. As for Blaze, he was now fully defensive, protecting Link from all sides.
[Raven Level 6]
[Blaze Level 6]
[Link Level 4]
Time passed both slowly and fast as two more waves were dealt with.
The 8th wave was doable since the zombies were of similar levels, but the 9th wave zombies were quite well-equipped. All of their weak points were covered by armour and a strange metal. Plus the addition of skills which they had made it difficult to land a proper critical hit on them.
If I use all of my skills, I should be able to finish these too but… it would be better to conserve some strength for the last ones. I calculated before slowly chipping the Zombie's health before they fell down. While there were only 4 zombies, it still took about 10 minutes to finish this wave, but the good thing was that I was still standing with all of my health intact and my stamina a little lower than half.

With this, dealing with the next wave should be easy. I thought as I sighed in relief. Since we were finishing the waves as fast as possible, we were able to reach here with plenty of time as well.

And with this, we should be able to get some sort of bonus rewards too. All in all, it was a good run.
But the smile of anticipation that was forming on my face slowly vanished as I looked at the enemy walking towards us from the darkness.
Isn't this too early?
"It's… her!"
"Huh?"
Wearing an ebony robe that wrapped her entire body, she walked gracefully towards us, unhurriedly one step at a time. Her massive scythe reflected the yellow light of the fire torches, as it swayed slowly, matching the rhythm of the walk of its owner.
Her appearance should have been after the wave was over, not as a boss monster. I clicked my tongue as I observed the unfair situation presented in front of us.
And my eyes couldn't leave the flickering red coloured tag of that boss monster floating above her head.
