Riel looked at the back seats of the car, the was a tinted glass separating the space between the driver and the back seats, other than that it was dark the windows at both sides were tinted pitch black.
But amidst the darkness there was something else, a figure sitting one leg crossed over the other, it didn't seem like the figure was moving.
"There's someone in there" Riel says
"You don't need to worry, I'm fine" the figure said "Your looking for your son? Levi is it?"
Riel tenses up, her body freezing as she wonders how he knows when she hadn't told him a thing.
"Get in, we have a lot to talk about"
The man's voice was commanding as though he possessed authority of the highest order, But Riel did not want to doubt whether or not he had authority or not, at the moment she was most relieved that she had gotten a lead to finding Levi.
She enters the car seating beside the man, She couldn't see his face it was too dark, and the tinted windows did not allow the tiny fragment of lights reflect on to him.
The car ride was one of a long silence, she had multiple questions of what was happening and what was going to happen and mostly of how Levi was doing, and then it hit her what if this was a trap, what if they were lying about having information on Levi, what if she had allowed herself to get kidnapped unknowingly.
The car had come to a stop, as the man beside her deboarded the car she snapped out of her thoughts. She followed suit, but as she came down she was surprised to see that they were in a cafe.
MINUTES LATER
Riel sat facing the man who she had sat with, as the lights bounced off his skin she was almost mesmerized by his features but yet this man seemed not to care, it was as if he was devoid of any emotions, any desires, He just sat there sipping the black tea in front of him.
He drops the tea cup in his hand, finally looking at the woman in front of him
"I apologize for the late introduction, I'm LUSTRE GEMSTONE. if you have any questions feel free to ask." the man said. His apologies lacking any sincerity in his tone, if anything he couldn't care less of whether the person knew him or not but maybe he had just said it for the sake of formalities. But Riel couldn't care less of whether to know him or not besides the reason she was here wasn't for that purpose.
"Levi, where is he?" she asked impatiently
"He's safe" the man replied he's voice sounding even more uninterested as he picked up he's cup and drinks from it.
"Now, I believe it is my turn to ask question" he said waving as he raises his hand signaling his assistant to fetch more tea "What is your relation to Levi?, or simply put are you his biological mother?"
Riel could feel her nerves spiking up, what is this guy trying to prove and what sort of question is that?
"Angry? well you don't have to be that is if you're saying the truth that is" Lustre added not hiding the fact that he was trying to provoke her.
"Of course not... I am his biological Mother, but what's it to you?!" she said, her tone suspicious.
Levi looked at her as she asked the question, a grin curving up his lips, he was amused.
Riel watches his face closely seeing as he had just grinned at her question she felt even more unsettled, IS THIS GUY GOING CRAZY? she asked herself in her thoughts.
"I have a son about Levi's age... But you see their resemblance to each other is uncanny and i was simply curious"
Riel looked at him like he had completely lost his mind
"*** district, *** night, seven years ago, where you in this location seven years ago?, MISS SAPHIRE" he suddenly said.
Hearing the address that he had just called, Riels' body tenses up like the air in the room had just gotten tenser, she look at him, something about him had changed did he always have this murderous aura around him, she asks herself.
Lustre stands up calmly from his chair walking towards her, he leans down towards her ear, his voice lower than before
"I believe you took something that's mine and I'm going to regain custody of him"
Saying that he walks past her waving his hand "I've already settled the bill"
Hearing what he had just said "Custody" Riel springs up rushing towards the path that he had took, she sight him about to enter his car, dashing towards him she grabs onto his jacket.
"Lustre turns surprised that she had followed after him
"No."
"..."
"No, there's no way you'll take Levi away just like that"
Lustre turns completely facing her, he grabs her hand releasing it from his jacket "Then would you rather fight for custody for him"
"Proof,... you haven't shown me any proof" she says her voice getting desperate.
Looking at her, Lustre signals Axiver to bring out the documents
"Are these proof enough for you" he says as Axiver hands the documents over to Riel.
"You really intend to take him away from me, huh?" she says her head facing towards the floor,
"I don't intend on leaving my son in your custody"
"But his my son too, besides where were you the past seven years of his life and now all of a sudden, you show up out of nowhere and demand custody" she say gripping his clothe even tighter.
"I can say the same for you, where were you the past seven years of Leths' life or don't tell me you didn't even know you gave birth to twins" Lustre said his tone rising gradually.
Riel could not believe what he was saying besides to her it was impossible, the hospital she gave birth in told her that she had lost her second child, that he was too weak to survive.
"Don't talk to me about not being there when your just as pathetic, No... even worse"
"Follow, I'll follow you"
"And you think I'll let you"
"You probably don't have the time to spend with the do you?, so i will instead, I won't fight you for custody, but I won't let go of mine instead... so can't we come to a compromise"
Lustre looks at her not wanting to accept the deal but it looks like this is the best deal for both of them.
"You'll be given a contract, by tomorrow evening, I'll need you to sign it with no issues"
"Fine"
Riel knew she wasn't being reasonable and this might be the worst decision she's made so far, but hopefully she prayed she wouldn't come to regret it
