"Did you see her?" Everyone looked at Brad, who had just returned. When they saw that Eira ran like that, they proposed that one of them should go after her, of which Brad proposed.
They shook their heads when they heard his reply, wondering where Eira had gone off to look for Matt.
As they waited, they heard her familiar voice,
"I'm back. And the good news is that…"
They saw that Eira was standing in front of them unharmed, but her words caught their attention as Matt appeared behind her.
Some of their eyes gleamed with emotions; it appears that Matt has agreed to come back. They didn't know how Eira convinced Matt.
Matt's roommates were excited about this; they rushed to him, beginning to discuss, asking him why he rejected and later came.
Matt just smiled; it was a misunderstanding he had with Eira that made him reject her.
Seeing her crying figure made him realize it was a misunderstanding. He later learned that Eira was excited about seeing him, but in order for people not to notice, she hid it quickly, looking at Matt coldly.
But when she saw Matt giving her the cold shoulder, it hurt greatly, and when he rejected her, she knew that something was wrong.
This prompted her to follow him and find out the answer from him.
Matt felt embarrassed; he couldn't look at her when he heard her explanation. It indicated that he didn't trust her fully.
He looked at her; he had failed himself and her. When did he truly start to think like that? Disappointment filled his heart.
Eira saw this, trying to cheer him on, asking what happened to his change of mood. He explained to her, expecting to also see her disappointed expression.
She smiled, kissing him the next moment,
"No one is perfect; it's my job to accept your imperfections." She smiled.
It was at this moment that Matt vowed never to abandon her, even at the cost of his life.

Their journey continued, and with Matt joining them, the Chain Devils were easily wiped out.
Matt was surprised that Eira could activate her talent partially, which made it easier for them.
They entered the Boss Room, killing the boss in a few strikes.
The twelfth floor was the Scorch Devil, devils that breathe waves of heat that melt rock and armor.
At this place, they had an advantage, which was Eira, her Ice talent—not only an Ice Talent but an SS Ice Talent.
Her Ice Talent freezes the heat of the Scorch Devil; their only advantage was eliminated. The boss was the same.
Thirteenth Floor was the Howler Devil, a devil that screeches so loud that it destroyed people's eardrums and caused confusion.
This floor was Matt's time to shine; his ears were slightly immune to their screeches, and the ant devil screech was twice as strong as theirs.
Without wasting much time, they cleared the floor level until they eliminated the boss.
The fourteenth floor was the Shadow Devil, devils that hide in darkness and strike unseen from behind.
These devils gave them headaches as they could hide in their shadow; if they weren't vigilant enough, some people would have lost their life.
Also they get easily tired in the battle, which makes them rest every few minutes. They weren't machines or have unlimited stamina; every few battles, they had to rest to gain strength.
But for the shadow devil, even eliminating one of them, they had to rest to regain strength.
The floor level was the one that took much of their time, making them spend two days before they got to the Boss Room.
Matt and Eira would have any chance when eyes aren't on them to romance, talking and having their sweet time, but they didn't know that a gaze was watching all of this.
The boss was also eliminated after a bit of sacrifice; some people lost part of their body, their hands.
Now they were on the fifteenth floor, but when they saw the devil that was at the level, they paused; they had to tread carefully.
The devil on this floor is the Blade Devil; they aren't a common devil like the one that they had been battling since they had reached her.
There's a blade devil that's known to be a Devil Emperor on Earth; this was what made them serious.
The devil blade before them had its body covered in the blade; every one of its movements cut.
"Brad, with your thunder power, you might be able to paralyze them while I deliver the finishing blow," Matt turned to Brad, the new friend he made.
They come back from Sunset City; he was the one who awakened an S-rank talent.
Brad nodded at his words, standing side by side. The others watched them; if they needed any help, they would offer.
This was what they had been doing to hone everyone's battle senses, which is the reason this combat assessment took place.
Brad held his spear against the Blade Devil; this was his weapon. Matt also unsheathed his sword.
The Blade Devil released its attack, raised its hand that was a blade, and attacked both of them.
They didn't flinch, using their weapon to parry the attack of the blade devil.
Brad activated his talent; his body crackled with lightning that discharged through the spear, entering the body of the blade devil that didn't expect this.
It was paralyzed. Matt took this opportunity; with his sword, he stabbed the blade devil through its head using the Sword Combat Skill, successfully destroying its core.
Matt looked at the dead body of the Devil Ant with a smile. It had a combat power of twenty-seven percent.
They settled down. "It seems we have exchanged food items again."
Yes, this was how they were surviving. Everyone who had stockpiled food had finished, and there was no way that they could eat devil flesh or they would die. It was even nasty thinking of eating it.
They could exchange with the points they have, but their points would be reduced. This was how they had been satisfying their belly.
