Chapter 29 - Dungeon Battle (6): Fighting Four Bosses, Incoming Danger

Matt and the others have been busy clearing the fifteenth floor; now they were standing before the room of the boss of the floor.

"Is everyone ready?" Matt asked. Since the time he had joined them, he had become their leader and also convinced them with his strength.

They all nodded. According to their calculations, the boss is supposed to have the combat power of thirty percent.

They opened the gigantic door; darkness was what entered their sight, but they entered the boss room, familiar with such scenes, and the door closed.

Inside the boss room, a clicking sound was heard, and everywhere turned bright.

When they saw what was before them, they were confused—a gigantic bridge. When they looked at the other side of the bridge, all they saw was darkness.

The bridge could contain fifteen motors if they are lined up side by side.

Matt watched this; he didn't understand why he had a bad feeling. The scenario, and the settings of the boss room were different from the others that they had battled.

Watching this, they felt something was wrong here, but they still had to keep going.

Matt waved his hands, and they moved and stepped on the bridge. He took a peek outside the bridge, and what he saw was darkness.

He couldn't see the depth of the bridge; it was like an abyss. This means that if one of them falls from the bridge, it's death.

There's no way that they would fall from the bridge with such heights that they wouldn't be mashed to death.

SCREECH!

They heard a loud sound as they saw a blade devil bigger than the one that they had fought coming out from the shadow.

They scanned the blade devil and saw that it had 32% combat power. This made them delighted, but Matt kept looking around; he still had a bad feeling that something wrong was going on.

First, why was the bridge like this? If it was just a devil with such combat power, there was no reason for this.

Second, what's beyond the bridge, the place that was full of darkness? He was still thinking when four more screeches resounded.

This made all of them pause; they looked before them to see four more blade devils coming out from the shadows.

Each of the devils has 30% combat power.

Everyone's entire body shook; they now realized the hardness of this level.

The first thought that came to their mind was that if they had come here alone, how would they have battled them and survived under them?Matt looked at this; he now knew where the bad feeling was coming from. It turned out it wasn't one blade devil but five of them.

Now they had to tread carefully; there was danger of falling off the bridge apart from the devils that were standing before them.

"Everyone, split yourselves into four groups. I and Eira will take care of the one that has 32% combat power. Also be careful not to fall off the bridge," Matt roared.

They didn't waste time splitting up as the Blade Devils were already charging towards them.

Matt and Eira moved, standing before the one with the highest combat power, unsheathing their sword.

"Don't hold your power back. I would take charge, while you take up the rear," Matt said to Eira, who nodded at his words.

Matt charged forward; the Blade Devil also charged,

CLANG!

Their weapons clashed with one another, sparks coming out. The Blade Devil moved its other arm, attacking Matt.

Matt saw this; he didn't bother with this. Before it could reach Matt, Eira had already attacked with her sword.

She appeared before the left hand of Blade Devil, which was a sneak attack on Matt, swinging her sword elegantly, cutting the hands of the blade devil.

The Blade Devil let out a screech of pain, stepping backwards; black blood was flowing from its left arm that was nearly cut into two.

"Nice job." Matt gave Eira a thumbs-up, which made her blush.

Immense devilish energy was released from the devil's body; they saw its wounds closing up. Its healing speed was what shocked them.

Blade Devils are known for their strong attack power and good defense, but what they don't have is fast healing speed.

Seeing this made them realize that something is going on,

"Be careful," he whispered to Eira.

Matt looked at the Blade Devil vigilantly, once again charging with his sword while executing the combat sword skills, Eira backing him up.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

They had clashed over ten times, but every injury given to it healed instantly, giving them another problem.

"Stay low for a while. I would take it alone, baiting it while you wait for the best opportunity that we can use to eliminate it in one strike. From what I can see, its intelligence isn't as strong as expected," Matt said solemnly.

Eira looked worried, but Matt reassured her why he waited for the opportunity.

Matt moved, giving a feint attack. The Blade Devil fell for it. Matt attacked from the other side, chopping it down.

Even though he was able to injure the devil, it healed back.

The clash continued, with both at a stalemate, and Matt was losing energy, his mind thinking of the best way to eliminate the devil.

He looked; it seems he would have to increase the power of the Combat Sword skill.

He separated from the Blade Devil, he exhaled loudly, and his stance changed as he moved, striking Matt.

As the Blade Devil attacked Matt, it went through his body; it turned out it was a feint attack.

It saw Matt appearing at another side, attacking him, but again it turned out to be a feint.

Before it could be moved, Matt's body appeared before it, impaling its body,

"Now," Matt roared.

Eira, who had been waiting for this moment, moved, her sword in her right hand. Ice coated her sword, making it give chills.

She appeared before the Blade Devil, stabbing it with her sword from the throat. Her sword came out from its head, destroying its core partially freezing its head

They removed their sword, and the body of the Blade Devil fell to the ground. Matt's face was pale; creating one faint shadow had taken strength from his body.

As for why he did so, the blades that covered the Blade Devil body weren't useless; if someone was close to it and if it sensed it was in danger, it would release them.

He used the faint shadows to attract stabbed at the Blade Devil in the stomach, which made it feel pain, temporarily making its anger on him; it had forgotten about Eira.

And this was the opportunity Eira used to finish it. Even though it looked easy, any mistake could cause him serious injuries or death.

"Let's help the others." He turned to Eira, moving to help the others.

With the help of Matt and Eira, the remaining four devils were quickly eliminated.

Everyone slumped to the ground, out of strength.

Matt felt delighted; they finally cleared the level without any deaths.

He was still thinking that his body began to scream from danger; it wasn't only him, everyone felt it, an unknown pressure that descended from nowhere.

They all turned to the corpse of the Blade Devil that was releasing such monstrous, devilish energy,

"HUMANS!"
