The garden was quite noisy, the kind of noise that comes from the wild nature, wind rushing from tree to tree passing through bushes and grasses bending flowers and blowing dried leaves from their resting place,
Sylus sat upon a fallen log, one leg crossed over the other, posture composed despite the situation.
Asta stepped away from him in his sixth form, having calmed down after the few pushing aside low branches and looking down to where Zipporah stood for the tenth time.
"she is not moving ," Asta whispered, "now I'm sure she is here to wait for you"
Damian stood nearby, gloved hands folded neatly before him, with a calm face that made Asta annoyed whenever he saw it, A tiny single fallen leaf rested upon his sleeve.
Sylus watched the Asta who was looking down at the field,
' My lord ',
Damian's voice entered his thoughts, calm and entirely private.
Sylus did not react he kept his face neutral ,
'Do you have a way ', Sylus replied silently after sometime
Asta stopped pacing. "Did you hear something?"
No," Sylus said aloud. "Continue thinking."
Damian smiled wider,
Asta shot him cold look and turned away,
when Asta had his back to them,
Damian said, ' You intend to dismiss me via the Captain '.
Sylus's gaze sharpened by a fraction. now Asta had let it out of the bag no more hiding it
Asta crouched onto the soil. " the only way I see this is that we go ahead and leave you to deal with her, this guy and I will take the- "
' You were not meant to discover that,' Sylus said internally.
it's not that Damian didn't know, he suspected it he did, and having it clear and clean, was half a surprise,
' May I ask why? '
' Because it is necessary.'
' That is not an answer,' Damian said, still unfailingly polite.
Sylus's fingers tapped once against the bark of the log trying to find a good answer Damian would accept, but after a while he couldn't find one
' You do not belong in this, ' he said. ' You were never meant to be, your present was an accident,.... and all casualties after accidents are always cleaned up'.
Damien absorbed this without visible reaction.
Asta turned suddenly. "Are you listening?"
"Yes " Sylus said.
Asta narrowed his eyes, but turned back when nothing seemed off
' You are attempting to remove me because I'm not a part of you', Damian said. 'Do not cast me aside under the pretense of me being an outsider'
That made Sylus look up.
' You believe this is pretense?'
' I believe', Damien said, ' that you are avoiding a situation with a not so clear outcome'
The accusation was soft, yet...
yet it made Sylus's jaw tightened.
he was right, he was desperately right that it made him question how transparent he was, for someone to read him with just a single conversation.
'You are not part of my life,' he repeated, more firmly now.
Damien let that settle, with a smile
for he knows what to say, what to do, anyone might have grown emotional, might have pushed too hard.
Damian only said.
' Then allow me to become so.'
Sylus blinked.
That, he had not anticipated.
Asta glanced between them. "you all right? why have you gone very still."
"Thinking," Sylus said.
"Yes," Damian added aloud, perfectly smooth. "We would not wish to rush."
Then, privately—
'You require someone who you can one hundred percent trust when matters become… complicated', Damian said. 'I'm not saying trust me right away, but I know you can see it, the line between my brother and I, ' he waited for it to take effect.
'Permit me to demonstrate that my present isn't a casualty but a useful tool'
Sylus stared at him, he didn't know what to say, his mind was disorganized, he felt like laughing but couldn't make a sound,
Asta painted this man to be heartless, to be curl, to be evil,
this man whose hair was covering his thine blindfold, looking closely he could faintly see his closed eyelids, his hair looked shorter when let down, from afar he seems normal, on till looking close enough to see the blindfold, his outfit was simple, like a hybrid of butler and normal attire, honestly he looked more like the son of a noble man than the villain Asta claimed him to be,
A faint, dangerous sound, almost laughter, touched Sylus's thoughts.
'Very well,' Sylus said. 'Prove it.'
'I will give you enough time, about a week should do, I just need to find an excuse Asta would buy, from then Show me your usefulness '
Asta suddenly straightened. "so are we moving or you wanna enjoy the breeze more "
" lets move, Asta's plan is good" Sylus shot up,
Asta's plan was simple, go the other way with Damian, take a road behind, from the garden, something, something, something then get into Sylus's room.
Sylus left the two and walked down towards his waiting lady,
Damian looked at the figure slowly getting swallowed into the plantations and left with Asta,
when Sylus got to the waterfall he called out to her,
Zipporah turn seeing him she waved but stopped seconds later,
he hand suspended in the air as she just stared at him,
Sylus who was waving back, was confused, he started to wonder if any of his sins were behind him, already taken a back by himself for calling them his sins,
he turned back but didn't see anyone, when I looked at her she was waving again,
he frowned, but with where he stood if he wanted to ask any questions he had to descend the waterfall,
he went passed the rock to the flowing water where he checked his reflection everyday, this time when he got there he froze up on what he say,
it was like looking at a stranger
his normal appearance was not what he saw, normally he would see long black hair, blood red eyes, a straight jaw line,
but now he sees black hair with many golden strips, his red eyes had an unusual golden hue at the button perfectly blending with the red, his law line was sharper and more muscular shape, his usual clothes has golden embroidery in Both the shirt and trousers' only the jacket remain it color,
so apparently he was like this the whole time and Asta didn't tell him anything,
looking closer these changes might be from Damian, now that the contract is complete his attributes are showing, which means this is his look now if Damian is gonna stay for the days he gave him to prove himself.
