Seems like I'm being called down, I really won't get a chance to lay around any time soon. Kind of a pain in the ass.
Hopefully it is actually something important or something that I want to know. I'm tired as all hell and would appreciate the opportunity to get some sleep.
Creak. Slam! I left my room and slammed the door shut behind me as I went back downstairs to the others. They were all sitting around the screens at the far end of the room.
Ahead I could just barely see what they were looking at, someone was on the screen.
"I think we might have found a sighting of your brother. I wanted to help you out a bit as well." Reika said with a bit of a shy tone to her voice.
No sarcasm or insults? That's weird, but I guess I can't complain.
"Where is that and how do you know it is really him?" I asked with a serious tone while getting closer to examine.
Looking at the screen I could see he had the same style of clothing Renji usually wears but his face was covered by a full black and blue oni mask with streaks of neon light going throughout the mask.
He also seemed to have two pistols on his hip with a sword on his back. This couldn't possibly be Renji.
Renji would never carry weapons like this in the first place, he was too scared to do a damn thing whenever we got into trouble. Unless he thinks I'm dead, that would be something that makes a lot more sense.
Our family isn't the type to sit around when we lose someone. After my dad died... I got back up and started to enter this life in the first place.
I wasn't doing as much as I am now but it was definitely the start of my life in the real world.
"Seems you answered your own question by the way you're looking at the screen. He was last seen in Vantablade turf but since we wiped them out, it doesn't matter." Reika responded with a laid back tone.
"At least I know he's alive. That makes things a bit easier, I'd like to find him though. Maybe he can help in Karma." I said while scratching my head.
"The more people we get, the better off we are." Reika replied with a bit of a smile.
Seems I'll be heading out to Vantablade turf once again to see if I can find out where Renji went. I don't want to leave him out on his own for too long.
A decent amount of time has passed since everything happened with us so I don't want him to get himself killed. That's not the kind of brother I am.
"Then I'm heading back out in the morning. I need some rest before anything else." I said with a serious tone.
"Luckily we have a spare car here so you can take that tomorrow. Just make sure to stay in communication with us." Reika replied with a caring tone.
"Yes ma'am." I said before heading back upstairs.
I found myself back in my room, comfortably laying on my bed. It felt kind of peaceful out here on the outskirts.
It didn't take long for me to sleep through the night since I knew that I had a job to deal with in the morning. I jolted awake in bed to the sight of the morning sunlight shining into my room, it was lightning up the whole place.
Time to get ready to go.
I cleaned all my weapons and grabbed fresh clothes for the day. Luckily I have the clothes here in the first place. Seems like they think ahead a bit when it comes to have what people need.
But it was time to go, I have everything I need so I went downstairs and quickly left out the door for the other car. It was an older black car, dust covered it all over, it resembled a Kairo Charger. One of the nicer cars that most kids dream of having since it is a sports car.
Without all the dust it might actually look like a new car, especially with the black tint still fully there. Click. I opened up the door and set everything inside before taking a seat.
Upon starting the car I could hear the nice out of the engine, it really didn't seem like an old car by any means. Maybe it is because it has a bit of Mana pumping through it.
"Welcome new user. Please state your name." A voice spoke from the screen in the center dashboard.
"Zero." I answered without hesitation.
"Thank you. Zero has been entered into the database. Do you need my help getting somewhere?" The A.i voice asked politely.
"I'm alright for now. I believe I know where I'm going." I answered kindly.
Haven't done a whole lot of driving in my time but it doesn't seem that hard. It is time to find Renji before he gets himself killed out there.
SKRREEECH. I forgot to put it into drive before suddenly taking off towards the city once again. It only took a few moments for me to adjust to the feeling of the car and all the controls.
The a.i also helped teach me a few things along the way which made it a bit easier to figure out.
It felt nice to be driving a nice car like this, especially since it'll be the first time I've seen Renji in awhile.
I keep acting as if it has been years but it hasn't really been that long... Just long enough for him to think that I died but I kind of did die. I was out for quite some time before even starting to work for Karma.
Not that he needs to know how long I've been around without finding him. I'll get to that eventually.
He doesn't need to know right away.
