AURORA MOON
She didn't know how long she slept before laughter dragged her to consciousness. Two small thwumps forced her eyes open. She turned her head and saw two goblin children sitting next to her.
One was purple, and the other green. The purple goblin wore a miniature-style of Belna's dress. The green goblin wore black breeches and a gray shirt with purple embroidery around its collar.
"Momma and Poppa say you feel like pig shit," said the purple goblin child.
Her brother elbowed her. "Liba! You're not supposed to say things like that."
"Why not, Inru? Grown-ups say pig shit all the time."
"Say it in front of Momma then," dared Inru.
Liba pressed her lips together and crossed her arms.
Inru leaned forward. "How are you feeling, Aunt Aurie? You look ... er, better?"
She had to love kids. No matter what species they were, they tended to be honest and blunt. It was refreshing to get the unvarnished truth sometimes.
