The electric shock from Thunderbolt quickly struck Scyther, which was unable to move.

Facing the sheer speed of a real electric attack, Scyther frantically accelerated. Eichi quickly took out the remote control for Scyther's Weighted Vest and turned the device off. Scyther's silhouette instantly disappeared, swiftly dodging the Thunderbolt attack.
"It's my turn to attack! Scyther, use Hidden Power!"
After dodging, Scyther immediately used Hidden Power on Electabuzz. A thick pillar of fire shot out from Scyther's mouth.
Seeing the attack, Sato commanded, "Electabuzz, use Thunderbolt to block it!"
Electabuzz also unleashed electricity, which collided with Scyther's pillar of fire. The two streams of energy clashed in the air, locked in a stalemate. Whenever one side increased its output, the other side did the same. Both Pokémon gritted their teeth, glaring at each other and constantly increasing their output. Finally, due to the immense energy, a massive explosion occurred. Both Pokémon suffered a backlash and were knocked back a considerable distance.
The clash ended in a draw. Both Pokémon quickly stood up to continue the fight.
"Scyther, use Quick Attack!"
Scyther vibrated its wings, constantly changing direction as it rushed toward Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz, use Electro Ball!"
Electabuzz rubbed its hands together, forming a spherical bolt of lightning, which it then hurled like a baseball.

Its scythe instantly slashed out, striking the surprised Electabuzz.
Electabuzz was knocked back a short distance. Scyther rushed forward again, raising its scythes.

Its scythes descended repeatedly. Five slashes struck Electabuzz's body in a matter of seconds. Electabuzz was pushed back further, and Scyther intended to press its advantage.

The injured Electabuzz endured the pain and focused its spirit. Seeing Scyther charging again, it blocked with both hands, and a barrier appeared in front of it. Scyther's scythes struck the barrier and were instantly neutralized.
Seeing this, Eichi had Scyther continue to use Fury Cutter until the barrier broke. After repeated Fury Cutter attacks, the barrier finally started to give way.
With a crack, the barrier completely shattered.
Electabuzz had recovered, and its next move was ready.
"Electabuzz, use Thunder Punch!"
Scyther had just finished using Fury Cutter when an electric-charged fist shot out. Scyther didn't have time to use another move, so it could only cross its two scythes in front of its chest. Electabuzz's Thunder Punch struck Scyther's scythes. The force of the punch knocked Scyther back a long distance. It slammed into a rock and took even more damage.
"Electabuzz, use Discharge!"
Electabuzz placed both hands on the ground again to use Discharge. Current instantly flowed through the water and shocked Scyther.
"Scyther, use Substitute!"
Just as the attack hit, Scyther created a copy to take the electric attack for it, while the real Scyther flew off the ground. Under the electric attack, Scyther's substitute instantly vanished. Electabuzz then quickly charged forward.
"Electabuzz, use Thunder Punch!"
Electabuzz was incredibly fast. In a flash, it rushed below Scyther, stomped the ground, jumped up, and aimed a punch at Scyther.
"Scyther, use Brick Break!"
Seeing the leaping Electabuzz, Scyther raised a scythe, charging for one second as it channeled energy into the blade. It swung and collided with Electabuzz's fist.
The two were evenly matched, no one gaining an advantage in their clash.
After using the move, Electabuzz began to drop to the ground. This was a good opportunity, and Eichi seized it.
"Scyther, dive down and use Brick Break again!"
Scyther's eyes widened, a faint smile appearing on its face as it dove down. Its scythe began to charge continuously, channeling energy. Just as Electabuzz hit the ground, Scyther's attack arrived. It swung its scythe, slashing at Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz, catch its scythe!"
After Sato gave the command, Electabuzz grinned and directly met Scyther's attack. Although Electabuzz was hit by the attack, it managed to catch Scyther's scythe.

This is the first time I've seen something directly tank Scyther's Brick Break.
What is Sato trying to do?
After Electabuzz caught the Brick Break, Scyther tried to pull its scythe back, but Electabuzz held it in a death grip, making it impossible to pull out. Sato's mouth curved into a faint smile.
