Chapter 84 - The Hour All Fronts Ignited

"When every front burns at once, there is no retreat. Only the choice of where to stand and who to lose."

───────────────────────────

The Invasion Escalates

Location: Biringan – Multiple Sectors

The Sandata unit split as soon as the High Council appeared.

Each group moved through active battle lanes, pushing forward to reach the Babaylan Saints holding unstable sectors.

Biringan's defense grid was failing.

Some barriers flickered but held. Others collapsed completely, exposing Babaylan soldiers to direct fire and Sandata attacks.

The Anino ng mga Anito forces pushed through every opening.

There was no safe ground left.

───────────────────────────

Central Front – Gregorio and Hermano vs Datu Alon

Gregorio reached Hermano as the central line began to break.

Babaylan soldiers were falling back under heavy fire. Sharp blade fragments rained from above, cutting through anyone too slow to move.

Hermano raised his hand and pushed forward.

A strong force slammed into the Anino front line, throwing riflemen off their feet.

"Make space. Stay behind me," Hermano said.

Gregorio moved forward at once.

Datu Alon raised Dahong Palay.

The blade broke apart into hundreds of thin fragments. They spread across the air like a storm.

Some went after the soldiers.

Others locked onto Gregorio and Hermano.

"He's aiming at everyone," Gregorio said. "I'll go straight at him."

"I'll hold the rest," Hermano replied.

The first wave dropped.

Several Babaylan soldiers were cut down before they could react.

"Fall back! Move in pairs!" a soldier shouted.

The second wave curved and struck those trying to escape.

Hermano turned his hand.

The air in front of Gregorio tightened, slowing the falling blades.

"Go. Now," Hermano said.

Gregorio pushed through, knocking aside the fragments that came too close.

Datu Alon shifted his attack.

More fragments curved toward Gregorio, closing in from all sides.

"He's focusing on me," Gregorio said.

Hermano closed his hand.

For a brief moment, the fragments stopped.

"Opening," Hermano said.

Gregorio rushed in and struck.

Datu Alon spun his fragments into a shield and pushed the attack into the ground.

The impact cracked the floor.

"He's redirecting everything," Gregorio said.

Hermano stepped forward and attacked again.

Datu Alon split the force cleanly.

"Keep him busy," Hermano said. "Don't let him settle."

Gregorio nodded. "Then we don't stop."

Around them, Babaylan soldiers kept falling under stray fragments.

───────────────────────────

Shadow Sector – Crispulo, Agosto, Tsubame, Ari vs Sergei

Sergei raised his hammer and slammed it down.

The ground shook. Everything in front of him was crushed or thrown aside.

"Spread out! Don't stay close!" Crispulo shouted.

They moved apart immediately.

Agosto vanished and reappeared at Sergei's side, striking fast.

"I hit him!" Agosto said.

Sergei grabbed him and slammed him into the ground.

"Strike and retreat! Don't stay too long within his range!" Crispulo said.

Ari stepped in and pushed the next swing off course.

"Keep him here!" Ari said.

Tsubame dropped from above and attacked.

Sergei caught her and threw her across the field.

"He's anticipating attacks from above too!" Tsubame said as she rolled to her feet.

Crispulo moved in and cut across Sergei's back.

The blade landed, but Sergei did not slow down.

Sergei slammed his hammer into the ground again.

A shockwave spread out.

Nearby soldiers were thrown flat. Defensive constructs shattered.

"Move! Clear the area!" Agosto shouted.

Sergei stepped forward through the dust.

"He's not slowing down," Ari said.

"Then we keep hitting him," Crispulo replied.

Agosto stood up. "I'll draw his next swing."

"Not alone," Crispulo said. "We move together."

"Switch on my call," Tsubame said.

They attacked one at a time.

Each strike forced Sergei to turn.

Each swing from him pushed them back.

"We stop him here or the line breaks," Crispulo said.

───────────────────────────

Eastern Corridor – Marian, Prasert, Min Jun, Magdalena vs Batu

Batu swung his blade.

A wide storm of cutting force filled the corridor.

"Hold the front! Get the others back!" Magdalena shouted.

The first wave hit the front line.

The second wave cut through the rear.

Soldiers were struck from both sides.

Marian ran forward. Mist started to surround he area.

"Stay close to him!" she said.

Prasert attacked from above.

"I'll keep him looking up," Prasert said.

Min Jun moved low.

"I'll limit his movement," Min Jun said.

Batu turned and released another attack.

This time, the storm exploded from close range.

"Close attack!" Magdalena warned.

She blocked part of it.

The rest broke through.

"Barrier won't hold long!" Magdalena said.

"Don't back away," Marian said. "He's stronger at distance."

Batu stepped forward.

"You adjust well," Batu said.

Marian struck again. "We don't have a choice."

Batu swung again.

Another storm formed, faster than before.

"He's speeding up!" Prasert said.

"Stay inside his reach!" Marian replied.

Behind them, more soldiers fell.

"We hold him here," Magdalena said. "No one gets through."

───────────────────────────

Storm Front – Renato and Juan vs Kuroda

Lightning struck across the battlefield.

Juan controlled where it landed.

"Stay moving. Don't stand still," Juan said.

Renato raised a wide shield.

"Stay behind me! Stay together!" he called.

A Babaylan soldier ran toward them.

"Sir!"

He stopped suddenly.

A blade came through his chest from behind.

His form changed.

Kuroda stood there.

"Found him," Renato said.

He raised his shield.

Too late.

A red slash wave cut through the soldiers behind him.

Juan sent lightning toward Kuroda.

"I've got him," Juan said.

Kuroda moved before it struck.

More soldiers ran in.

"Reinforcements!" one shouted.

Juan lifted his hand again.

Renato stopped him.

"Wait. Look at how they move."

One soldier stepped differently.

"Third one. That's him," Renato said.

He moved and struck.

The disguise broke.

Kuroda blocked and cut back.

Muramasa grazed Renato.

Kuroda's form shifted again, now looking like Renato.

"So that's how you fight," Kuroda said.

Juan narrowed his eyes. "He can even absorb memories."

He increased the lightning strikes.

"We have to corner him," Juan said.

Kuroda moved through real soldiers.

They hesitated.

He cut them down before they could react.

"Don't hesitate! Move when I say!" Renato shouted.

He pulled the soldiers closer.

"No one moves alone!"

Juan kept striking fixed areas.

"Force him to move," Juan said.

Each time Kuroda dodged, he revealed himself for a moment.

They began to control where he could go.

───────────────────────────

Inner Fortress – Han Wei, Sutera, Mia vs Tala Martinez

Tala drew across the air.

The space in front of her bent and crushed a squad.

"Fall back!" a soldier shouted.

Han Wei multiplied his Sandata and threw a wave of needles.

"Let's see what she does," he said.

They turned into ink before reaching her.

Tala sent them back.

Sutera broke them apart.

"She can nullify and redirect attacks," Sutera said.

The ground shifted.

Parts of it collapsed.

"Watch your step!" Sutera warned.

Ink creatures rose from the ground.

They moved toward isolated soldiers.

Mia created a safe area.

"Stay inside this space!" Mia said.

Tala cut through it.

"It won't hold," Mia said.

A larger creature formed and charged.

"Focus on that!" Han Wei said.

It broke through a defensive line.

Han Wei stepped forward.

"We go for her. The creatures won't stop."

"Agreed," Sutera said.

Tala smiled.

"Come closer," she said.

More creatures formed behind her.

"End this fast," Mia said.

───────────────────────────

Aerial Assault

The Adarna and Myth-Tech drones attacked from above.

Half of the Anino heavy weapons were destroyed.

"Tanks down! Missile units hit!" an Babaylan soldier reported.

"Push forward!" their commander ordered.

Ground forces advanced.

Anino troops reinforced every position.

More Sandata wielders entered the fight.

"They're sending more!" the soldier said.

Casualties kept rising.

"No retreat," the commander said. "Hold the line."

───────────────────────────

The Unified Engagement

Gregorio and Hermano kept Datu Alon busy.

"Don't let him take control," Hermano said.

Crispulo's team kept Sergei moving.

"Keep him turning," Crispulo said.

Marian's group stayed close to Batu.

"Stay near him," Marian said.

Renato and Juan controlled Kuroda's movement.

"Force him out," Renato said.

Han Wei's team concentrated their attacks on Tala.

"Don't give her the time to weave," Mia said.

Everyone held their ground.

No side gained the advantage.

More soldiers fell.

───────────────────────────

The Standoff

The battle slowed, but no one stopped.

Both sides held their ground.

The High Council still controlled the flow of the fight.

"We're holding," Gregorio said.

"For now," Hermano answered.

───────────────────────────

The Dark Intention

At the Subic Myth-Tech Base, alarms went off.

"Check all entry points," a technician said.

"Nothing's open," another replied.

Sensors showed movement inside the base.

But no one had entered.

Something was already there.

"Track it," the technician said.

The signal moved closer to the command center.

───────────────────────────

Sovereign of the First Darkness

Location: Subic Myth-Tech Base

The alarms sounded too late.

"Unregistered presence inside the facility."

"Location?"

"No entry point detected."

Screens began to fail, one after another.

"Visual lost."

"Thermal negative."

A soldier stepped forward.

"Command, we have..."

He vanished.

The corridor dimmed.

Shadows elongated and twisted toward one end.

A figure emerged.

Still.

General Emilio Valdez narrowed his eyes.

"…Vice President?"

President Esperanza Sinukuan studied the man carefully.

"…Why are you here?" she asked.

Crisostomo Andres gave no answer. He raised his hand slightly.

A black ring rested on his finger. Darkness surged with it.

Sinukuan's eyes sharpened.

"That power… a Sandata."

A brief pause.

Recognition followed.

"…Kapangyarihan ng Sinaunang Dilim."

Her tone turned firm.

"Everyone, fall back. That is not a standard Sandata."

The team adjusted immediately.

"That ring is a Sandata as old as the Kamay ni Bathala... maybe older" she continued.

"It commands the dark abyss and turns it into a living weapon. Anything caught inside will not return. Do not block it. Redirect or avoid."

No reply came from Crisostomo.

"Let us be clear," Sinukuan said.

"You are not here under government authority."

"I am here because this location is starting to irritate me," Crisostomo replied.

"Get to the point!"

Behind her, Joaquin spoke.

"…Ma'am."

"Hold," Sinukuan said.

"All major Anino operations…" she continued,

"…have always been one step ahead."

Silence.

"It is you."

General Emilio exhaled.

"…So it is confirmed."

Joaquin stepped forward.

"Confirmed."

Sybill tightened her grip.

Ricardo shifted stance.

"You are the Supreme Leader of the Anino ng mga Anito," Sinukuan said.

"You reached the correct conclusion," Crisostomo replied.

"Engage," Joaquin ordered.

Gunfire erupted.

Rounds vanished on contact with the void field surrounding Crisostomo.

"Elemental shift," Emilio ordered.

Ice rounds hit first.

Frost formed along the edge of the void, slowing its outward crawl across the floor.

"Electric."

Electric rounds followed.

The void flickered unevenly.

"Keep firing," Joaquin said. "Do not let it stabilize."

Sybill ignited her blade.

"Kandila ng Dilim."

Dark flame expanded outward and anchored to the walls.

"Inside the flame. It resists displacement."

Ricardo stepped in.

"Alab ng Tala."

He advanced.

The void pushed forward.

It met the flame.

The corridor walls cracked as pressure built between opposing forces.

Ceiling panels buckled.

Lighting rigs fell.

"Window," Joaquin said.

Ricardo dashed in.

He struck.

The strike bent.

Space shifted around Crisostomo.

"Position distortion," Joaquin said. "He is not where he stands."

The ring pulsed.

A thin void line cut across the corridor.

It sliced through reinforced steel behind Ricardo.

The wall split open cleanly.

Another followed.

The second void slash was too fast.

Ricardo made the mistake of defending against it.

The void slash crashed against his Sandata and threw him through a support column like there was no resistance.

Concrete shattered.

Rebar snapped.

"Ricardo down!"

The floor darkened.

Void spread along load-bearing paths.

"He is targeting structural anchors," Joaquin said.

"He is collapsing the building with us inside."

"Hold position," Emilio said.

He stepped forward alone.

He changed rhythm.

Short bursts. Rotating elements.

Ice froze expansion points.

Electric disrupted cohesion.

Fire forced energy spikes.

The void slowed.

Cracks spread along the floor instead of advancing cleanly.

"It reacts to pressure," Emilio said.

Crisostomo raised his hand.

The ring pulsed harder.

The void split.

Upper layer surged forward.

Lower layer cut beneath.

The floor collapsed in sections.

A chunk of the corridor dropped into darkness below.

Emilio stepped into the collapsing zone.

"Fall back!" Sybill shouted.

"No."

He pushed output beyond limit.

Ice locked debris mid-fall.

Electric destabilized both layers.

Fire filled the corridor.

The void lost cohesion.

"Move!" Emilio shouted.

Joaquin pulled Sybill back.

Ricardo was dragged from debris.

A narrow safe lane opened.

Emilio held the line.

The weapon overheated.

Failed.

The void surged back.

He did not move.

It erased him.

Silence.

"No!!!" Sinukuan screamed.

Joaquin anchored her.

"…He sacrificed his life to give us a chance to end this now, dont let his sacrifice be for naught Madam President" Joaquin said.

"We move now."

Sybill reignited her blade.

Weaker.

"I can hold a tight field."

"Keep it dense," Joaquin said. "We move inside it."

A compact zone formed.

The void pressed but slowed.

Sinukuan moved.

She dropped into shadow.

"Wait for the pulse," Joaquin said.

Crisostomo advanced.

The floor cracked under each step.

Not from weight.

From force output.

The ring pulsed.

Sinukuan emerged behind him.

"You are finished!"

Perfect timing.

She struck.

Crisostomo moved.

Not the void.

Him.

He turned and caught her wrist mid-strike.

"Too slow, Madam President"

Impact shockwave cracked the wall behind them.

"…Too fast," whispered Sinukuan.

He stepped in.

A direct fist strike.

Sinukuan blocked.

The force drove her through the wall.

Concrete exploded inward.

She dropped into her shadow again.

Cristomo anticipated her egress and cought her with chokehold. He slammed her to the ground and dragged across the floor before launching her through three steel beams.

She crashed into a wall leaving her unconscious due to the force..

"Madam President!"

Sybill pushed her flame outward.

It cracked under pressure.

Crisostomo turned.

The ring aligned.

The void formed instantly.

"He is adapting," Joaquin said.

The darkness launched a whipping force.

Sybill shifted.

She was still hit.

She was thrown across the corridor.

Her flame collapsed.

"Three down."

Joaquin stepped forward.

Alone.

Crisostomo watched him.

"You are a dangerous individual, Joaquin. I cannot let you live."

No reply.

Crisostomo suddenly vanished into his own void and reappeared above Joaquin.

He struck first.

Joaquin blocked.

The impact shattered the floor beneath them.

Both dropped one level down.

They landed.

Concrete cratered.

Dust filled the air.

Crisostomo moved through it without pause.

Punch.

Kick.

Roundhouse kick.

Each hit carried enough force to break reinforced structure.

Joaquin blocked and redirected.

Minimal motion.

"You fight like a machine," Joaquin said.

"I am an offspring of war just like you," Crisostomo replied.

The ring pulsed.

The void surged into the lower level.

Joaquin moved inside both threats.

He slipped past a strike.

Countered.

Closed distance.

First hit.

Full concussive output.

The ring flickered.

Second hit.

Lower angle.

Crisostomo countered immediately.

Joaquin blocked.

Still pushed through a pillar.

He reset.

Watched.

The pulse came again.

Joaquin moved on it.

Third strike.

Direct.

The void collapsed inward briefly.

Crisostomo stepped back.

"Most would not survive long enough to see that," Crisostomo said.

He advanced again.

Faster.

Joaquin adjusted.

One of the void's tentacle almost clipped him.

Crisostomo followed with a strike.

Joaquin parried.

Countered.

Stayed inside range.

Fourth strike.

Full force.

The ring destabilized longer.

The ceiling above them cracked.

A section collapsed between them.

Silence.

"You adapt quickly," Crisostomo said.

"Know thy enemy Vice President... and I know you," Joaquin replied.

He stepped forward again.

Crisostomo lowered his hand.

"This engagement will continue another time," he said.

Joaquin held his position.

"God Level Threat indeed," Crisostomo continued.

"It is a shame that you are on the losing side."

The void began to recede.

"Too early to say that." Joaquin said.

"We will see."

Crisostomo looked at him.

"Next time, I will not hold back."

The void folded inward.

He disappeared.

Joaquin remained standing.

Behind him:

Ricardo buried in debris.

Sybill barely breathing.

Esperanza Sinukuan unconscious.

Multiple levels of the base had collapsed.

Entire sections erased cleanly.

Joaquin looked at his hand.

A slight tremor.

He closed it.

"Medical," he said.

No response.

He stood alone.

The base was a ruin.

Smoke curled through shattered corridors.

Steel beams bent, floors collapsed, and glyph-lit control panels flickered in warning.

Silence reigned, heavy and suffocating, broken only by Joaquin's controlled breathing.
