However, this sense of oppression did not affect the two people in the passage.
Perhaps due to their previous conversation, Kanna, although constantly looking around and observing her surroundings, did not speak or ask questions loudly.
This allowed Blue Poison to relax considerably, though of course, it would have been even better if Kanna could let go of her tightly held hand... As they walked, they finally reached the other end of the passage. Just as they were about to leave, a huge (tall) figure suddenly blocked their path.
Kanna looked up. The massive greatsword, the indifferent expression, and the perfect figure belonged to none other than Skadi, the happy orca she had been thinking about on her way here.
Skadi looked at the small figure in front of her with a hint of confusion in her eyes.
Although she was tiny, Skadi felt as if a giant beast stood before her. That eerie, reality-bending sensation almost made her draw her greatsword.
Thankfully, the next second, Kanna extended her hand. "Hello, I'm Kanna Kamui, a newly joined Operator of Rhodes Island. You can call me Kanna!"
Skadi paused, then extended her hand and said solemnly, "Skadi, an Abyssal Hunter."
The moment she touched Kanna, she felt many Terrorfish around her. Just as she felt annoyed and wanted to pull out her weapon to clear all these Terrorfish, a Young Dragon's roar sounded in her ear, and the Terrorfish around her vanished, followed by an immense feeling of lightness in her body.
When she came to her senses, she found Kanna looking at her with a sweet smile.
Skadi nodded. "Nice to meet you."
"Kanna is also very happy to meet you. You seem to have something to do, so Kanna won't bother you. See you next time, bye-bye!" Kanna said, stepping aside to clear the passage.
"Thank you. See you next time."
After Skadi left, Blue Poison involuntarily let out a sigh of relief.
Although not very familiar, she knew something about Skadi and the Abyssal Hunters. So, when Kanna stood in front of her and extended her hand, she was afraid Skadi might do something strange. But thankfully, their interaction, though also odd, was ultimately without mishap.
"Oh, you scared me to death! It's a good thing Skadi didn't make a fuss. Next time, be careful not to talk to strangers casually. What if you meet a bad person?" Blue Poison said to Kanna after patting her chest, which was slightly breathless from tension.
"Skadi is a good person," Kanna said, turning to look at Skadi, who had walked into the alley. Although she knew that there was probably a mysterious creature from the abyss parasitizing inside her, she didn't have the ability to expel it, so she simply greeted her.
After leaving the alley, Blue Poison was afraid that Kanna would lead her to meet some inexplicable people again (and there were actually quite a few such people on Rhodes Island), so her eyes darted around.
"Kanna, do you want to eat cake? Big sister has connections in the cafeteria and can make delicious cakes!"
Upon hearing 'eat,' Kanna immediately perked up.
Recalling that Blue Poison had a knack for making pastries, Kanna's mouth watered, and she involuntarily swallowed.
Seeing her expression, Blue Poison chuckled inwardly. Sure enough, children are children; there's always a way to attract their attention.
Leading Kanna to the pastry room of the Rhodes Island restaurant, Blue Poison stretched her body, ready to show off her skills.
Before starting to make pastries, she led Kanna to a small table on the side. After seeing her sit quietly, she smiled slightly and began making the pastries.
