Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Lord of Thunder, Help Me!

After Scout's introduction, the two were Puteer and Chang Xie, elite members of a Rhodes Island sniper team under Scout's command.

Kanna also apologized to the two, saying she should have waited a bit longer. After all, it only took Scout a dozen seconds to come up from below, which could have completely avoided their confrontation.

It was just that Kanna was a bit too excited at the time, which led to the skirmish.

The two also waved their hands and apologized, saying that if they hadn't been so aggressive and provoked Kanna, this situation probably wouldn't have happened.

Seeing that everyone had reconciled, Scout patted his two subordinates on the shoulders with a grin, "Good, good. It seems you've been cooped up here. Go straight to the training room and do five sets, the full routine. Don't think about slacking off, I'll have Little Mary keep an eye on you."

Hearing Scout's words, the two were struck as if by a bolt from the blue. With expressions of utter despair, they stammered their way down from the Lookout Tower.

"Don't mind them. These guys aren't bad at heart, they just have too much energy all day. A good workout will fix them right up." Scout completely ignored their sorrowful gazes, plopped down onto a nearby chair, and said to Kanna.

"Kanna really isn't angry! Kanna knows they're good people, so she really only used a tiny bit of electricity. She just meant it as a prank, but it turned out to be a little too much." Kanna gestured with her hands. She didn't want to be accused of attacking her companions on Rhodes Island.

Scout saw Kanna's anxious expression, reached out, and patted her dragon horn, "It's alright, they won't mind. Kanna doesn't need to blame herself. Besides, it looks like the thundercloud is coming. Don't you need to make any preparations, Kanna?"

"Preparations? Kanna just needs to stand there. As long as Kanna is visible enough, the lightning will come to Kanna on its own." Kanna scratched her head. What preparations did she need to get struck by lightning? Wasn't it just finding a high spot and waiting? With Kanna's lightning-attracting physique, any passing thundercloud would surely be drawn to her.

"Of course, I believe in Kanna's ability to attract lightning, but you still need to take protective measures. You know Outcast Grandma is watching you from below, and you wouldn't want her to worry about you, right?"

After Kanna's small display earlier, Scout believed she possessed extraordinary abilities. But when he came up, he also received a communication from Outcast, asking him to take good care of Kanna up here. If there was any problem, he was to immediately send an alarm below. She and Kal'tsit would be on standby not far below, and if Kanna encountered any issues, they would intervene to try and divert the subsequent lightning.

So he knew that Outcast truly cared for this little Wyvern she had brought back.

Kanna rubbed her head, a bit troubled after hearing this. What counted as protection? Her plan was to attract lightning to charge herself. Judging from the previous incident, she didn't need to do anything or take any protective measures; she could just lie there and wait for the lightning to finish. Suddenly, her tail swept across a nearby table, giving her a flash of inspiration.

She hopped outside, her legs slightly bent, allowing her tail to reach the ground. Seeing Scout's bewildered expression, she proudly explained: "Left foot live wire, right foot neutral wire, tail ground wire. Three lines in one, perfectly safe."

Upon hearing this, Scout looked like an old man on a subway staring at his phone.

What was all that about? Whether she was standing on one leg, two legs, or adding a tail, wouldn't the lightning still come from above? His original intention was for Kanna to find a way to reduce the intensity of the lightning when it arrived, but he didn't expect this child to come up with something like this, almost making him laugh out of exasperation.

However, the thundercloud, accompanied by drizzling rain, had already arrived overhead.

Just as Kanna said, she had a special attraction to lightning. Continuous bolts of lightning seemed to probe around for a while before striking precisely at Kanna's location, as if accurately targeted.

Flash after flash of lightning, accompanied by blinding flashes, illuminated the entire periphery of Rhodes Island. The few people watching from below couldn't help but gasp, because Scout, who was standing closest, couldn't see it, but only those who stepped out could witness how all the lightning in this part of the sky connected to Kanna. It looked as if a giant tree made of lightning had appeared above Rhodes Island, with the entire sky forming its branches.

Although Kanna's safety couldn't be clearly seen due to the dazzling light, Scout hadn't sent an emergency signal, which allowed everyone to put aside their worries. After all, it had been considered earlier that lightning would affect communication fluency, so Scout specifically brought a signal flare gun. If something he couldn't handle happened above, he would immediately fire the gun to send a signal, and then the people below would immediately take action according to the pre-prepared plan.

And how did Scout know if Kanna was okay? It was simple: while a single lightning strike would cause a huge boom, in this situation of continuous lightning, the sound was significantly reduced, giving him the opportunity to chat with Kanna, who was bathed in the lightning.

Yes, one person inside and one person outside, with the continuous lightning overhead, chatted through a pane of glass. It was mainly Kanna talking, and scout listening.

As for the content, scout said he knew every word, but put together, he couldn't understand it at all. Perhaps it was a child's wild imagination, after all, what kind of trashy seaborn cat only knows how to meow ALLALL, and the planner has no brain and won't create mechanisms, so he just forces dual flashes. He was completely bewildered by these words.

However, at least this proved that Kanna was healthy. Whether she was normal or not, he wasn't sure.

After about half an hour, the thunderclouds finally dispersed. Scout was about to open the door, but Kanna waved her hand.

"It's not suitable for people to come out immediately right now. Wait a little, let the wind blow some more." Kanna, smelling the fishy odor around them, flatly refused scout's attempt to go out.

Due to the continuous lightning, the ozone concentration on the Lookout Tower had become very high because of the strong current. If scout were to come out at this moment, it would cause some harm to his body.

Meanwhile, the people who had been preparing for rescue below breathed a sigh of relief when they saw the lightning disappear and no emergency signals from upstairs. Then, led by Kal'tsit, they took the elevator towards the Lookout Tower.

Upon arrival, they saw Kanna sitting on the side, and scout standing not far from her, wearing a gas mask.

Seeing outcast and her group, Kanna happily waved her hand. After they got closer, she waved again and said, "Kanna has a bit too much electricity this time. Kanna can't fully control it for a while. Don't touch Kanna yet, you'll get hurt."

As she spoke, Kanna extended both hands and slowly brought them together in front of everyone. Everyone saw currents continuously forming between her hands, proving that the amount of electricity on Kanna's body at that moment was terrifying.
