"??? Why maintenance???" The Pero took out her weapons one by one, strapped them to her back, and then asked curiously.
"Weapons are like you. If they rust, they're sick. Maintenance is like treating them. Otherwise, weapons will die too."
Knowing that Cerberus wouldn't understand overly professional language, Kanna used personification to convey the necessity of weapon maintenance.
"Gah! So that's how it is! Take me to the blacksmith!" Upon hearing Kanna's words, Cerberus immediately tensed up.
"My name is Kanna, and I hope we can be good friends." Kanna said, handing over a biscuit she had prepared earlier.
"Mhm mhm mhm, my name is Cerberus. I love honey cakes the most, but of course, I like other foods too. Crunch, wow! This is so delicious! I declare it the second most delicious food after honey cakes." Cerberus took Kanna's food, took a bite, and couldn't help but exclaim.
"Rhodes Island has many delicious things. I believe you'll like it here." Kanna said, walking towards the Engineering Department.
Seeing the dog carrying a pile of weapons following Kanna, the previous doctor couldn't help but sigh. She had talked for a long time, but it seemed the other party hadn't heard a word. She could only turn and walk back to the Medical Department's door.
Upon arriving at the Engineering Department, Kanna asked an Operator inside, then led the group through several turns, finally arriving outside a secluded small house.
She knocked on the door, and a Feline with red eyes emerged.
Looking at the children at the door, she couldn't help but frown. As a blacksmith, active children usually meant trouble, so seeing so many children made her feel a wave of discomfort.
Just as she was about to turn and close the door, Kanna reached out and held it open.
"Sister Vulcan, Miss Cerberus here has some weapons that need maintenance, and the Operators in the Engineering Department recommended you to us, saying you're the best at weapon forging and maintenance on Rhodes Island. That's why we came here. Don't worry, we're all good children and won't cause you any trouble."
Hearing Kanna's words, Vulcan didn't fully believe her, but she tried to push the door and found it was as if welded in place, realizing that the child in front of her was unusual.
Reopening the door, she nodded, "Alright, but let me be clear upfront: this is a place for weapon manufacturing and maintenance, so there are no children's toys. If you get bored, please go out and play, and do not touch anything here casually."
Only after Kanna nodded did she step aside and let the four in.
Upon entering the house, Cerberus eagerly took the weapons off her back. "Sister, please help me check, will they die?"
"Die?" Vulcan looked at Cerberus.
"She means damaged beyond repair and unusable." Kanna, who had just met Cerberus, opened her mouth to help explain, as people who had just met her might not fully understand what she was trying to say.
Vulcan nodded, picking up each weapon and examining it carefully.
"They're alright. Although they all have some rust on them, the problems aren't big. A little forging, and then with regular maintenance, they can continue to be used without issue."
After speaking, she took the weapons and walked to the workbench.
The children were all very excited as it was their first time visiting a blacksmith's shop up close. After promising not to touch anything, they cautiously explored the place.
In Kanna's opinion, this was very different from the blacksmith's shop she had imagined. Except for the huge furnace in the middle, it didn't look like a blacksmith's shop at all, more like a small workshop.
Various mechanical forging equipment could produce a batch of qualified weapons with just a few button presses. If the person wasn't Vulcan, she would have doubted if they truly possessed sufficient skill.
After staying with Vulcan for a long time, Kanna noticed Popukar starting to yawn and Rosmontis's eyes getting heavy, so she decided to leave.
Seeing that Vulcan showed no signs of stopping, she took out two biscuits from her pocket and handed them to Cerberus.
"Everyone is tired from playing, so we're going back. I guess you won't leave, so these two biscuits are for you. You can share them with Sister Vulcan when she comes down."
Cerberus carefully took the biscuits and nodded heavily at Kanna. "Mhm mhm mhm! When the weapons are saved, I'll come find you to play again."
As Kanna and the others left, Vulcan on the platform glanced at their retreating figures and couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.
These children were indeed as well-behaved and obedient as their leader had said. They had been in the workshop for so long without any curious touching, which actually made her more nervous.
Playful children were everywhere, but such well-behaved little ones must have a significant background, and they were all very cute. She was also worried about how she would explain if something went wrong in the workshop and someone got hurt.
After Kanna and the others left, Vulcan looked at Cerberus, who was sitting there staring at the operating table, and casually asked, "Why aren't you going back with them?"
"Cerberus just got here. The white coat told her where to live, but Cerberus forgot. But it's okay, as long as Cerberus is with her weapons, she can live anywhere."
"Oh? Aren't those little ones your friends?"
"Kanna is Cerberus's friend. She's a good person." Cerberus did not deny this.
"Then why don't you let her help you find a place to live?"
"Cerberus's weapons are here, so Cerberus lives wherever her weapons are!" As she said this, a proud look appeared on Cerberus's foolish face.
Hearing her words, Vulcan smiled.
"The room next door is empty; you can rest there. Your weapons will probably need another four to five hours to be fully maintained. You don't have to stay here the whole time."
Cerberus shook her head, looking at Vulcan with a determined expression. "No, Cerberus isn't going anywhere."
Seeing her firm attitude, Vulcan said no more and turned back to continue her work.
Kanna and the two others left Vulcan's workshop and headed towards the resting area.
Aside from Kanna, the other two were probably overheated in the workshop, so they quickly fell asleep after being taken to their dorm. Kanna, after some thought, decided to go to the training room to play. Perhaps with some luck, she might even see the Candy .
Upon reaching the training room, she didn't encounter the Candy , only a silent, mad shark wielding a chainsaw and attacking targets.
Perhaps it was her wide, sweeping attacks, or perhaps her obviously mentally unstable appearance, that kept others away from her, except for the heavy-armored Operators stationed there in case of an accident.
"Hello, Ying Zhuan, would you like some candy?"
Just as the heavy-armored Operator was looking bored, a young girl's voice came from behind him.
