Chapter 58 - Chapter 57: Newcomer Appears on Rhodes Island

When leaving, Whisperain was not bothered by the sudden addition of a task outside her scope of duty; in fact, she was quite happy.

Because she had also learned from those conversations that Kanna had a very close relationship with Rhodes Island's leader, Amiya, and had good relationships with most of the Elite Operators. Her guardian, Outcast, already had a very high popularity on Rhodes Island.

Now, already an Elite Operator at such a young age, she would undoubtedly be a core senior executive of Rhodes Island when she grew up.

The fact that Kal'tsit allowed her to teach Kanna was a huge trust.

After bringing the sighing Kanna to her office, she first poured Kanna a cup of hot water, then sat down and thought about the teaching plan before speaking.

"Kanna-chan, I'm not sure about your current learning situation. Doctor Kal'tsit's direction is to learn and understand the customs and cultures of various countries in Terra. So, our study time will be set from two to five in the afternoon every day, with one day of rest for every three days of class. How about we have classes in this office of mine?"

Since things had come to this, Kanna could only nod and agree to Whisperain's suggestion. At least it was three days on, one day off, and classes were only in the afternoon, leaving the mornings and evenings free for play and sleeping in. For Kanna, this was already the best study schedule.

"Hmm~ I still need to prepare the learning materials. So, how about we start the first lesson tomorrow afternoon?" Whisperain felt that since she had agreed to teach a child, she should be a bit more rigorous.

She decided to first put together a set of teaching materials, and then teach them to Kanna little by little. As for obtaining the materials, she would ask her colleagues. There were quite a few Operators on Rhodes Island who liked books. She would start with Victoria, which she was most familiar with, and then gradually supplement the rest, believing it wouldn't affect the progress of the classes.

Afterward, Kanna emerged from Whisperain's office. At this point, she was very angry, so she decided to retaliate against Kal'tsit. As for the method of retaliation—eating Rhodes Island into bankruptcy.

That day, at the noon cafeteria, the Operators saw a young one, with a displeased expression, eating bowl after bowl until the cafeteria food supply ran low.

Kal'tsit, however, stated that she wasn't too stressed. After all, she had many Operators under her, and one young one couldn't possibly eat Rhodes Island into bankruptcy.

For the next period, because she had to study, she was no longer as leisurely as before.

However, when she arrived at Whisperain's office early after lunch the next day, it still surprised the other party.

Yesterday, after Kanna left, she spent the entire afternoon organizing her lesson plans. In the evening, she heard the anecdote about Kanna throwing a tantrum and eating an entire cafeteria dry.

At the time, she was worried that the other party might be lazy and not come to class, and she had even prepared a contingency plan for how to find Kanna if she didn't show up.

But the Kanna, who was described by others as mischievous, came early herself, carrying a small backpack.

Of course, for Kanna, this was just a habit formed over more than ten years of student life.

After all, one of the most basic requirements to be a "good child" in the teacher's eyes was not to be late or leave early.

The subsequent learning situation also made Whisperain happy. The entire progress was fast and stable. Kanna often drew inferences from one instance to others in class, and the questions she asked always went straight to the core.

Several times, even Whisperain, who considered her own knowledge to be quite rich, felt somewhat overwhelmed when faced with questions that could be considered tricky.

On Kanna's third day of class, she dragged Rosmontis, who also had nothing to do, over. Of course, her thought was that studying alone was too damn painful; facing the teacher meant not a second of slack, so she pulled someone along to share the burden.

Kal'tsit said nothing after learning about it, only sending Whisperain another set of lesson plans.

For Whisperain, herding one sheep was still herding, and herding two sheep was still herding... Moreover, both Kanna and Rosmontis were rare good children who listened attentively in class, so she didn't feel much added burden.

Because she frequently visited Whisperain, Kanna also met the Apostles more often. Although Shining was initially a little wary of Kanna, after spending time together, she realized that Kanna often acted before thinking and bore no ill will towards either Sarkaz or Infected.

Liz, in particular, became friends with Kanna, who was quite a bit younger than her.

In Liz's words, the first time she saw Kanna, she felt a hint of jealousy. As a "doctor" proficient in human anatomy, she was immediately drawn to Kanna's "healthy" physique upon their first meeting.

And when Kanna communicated with her, her eyes never showed pity or sadness, which made Liz very happy. Coupled with Kanna's frequent "feeding," Liz and Kanna had the most harmonious relationship among the Apostles.

Besides the Apostles, these past few days she also met the "Fat Fox" Franka and "Power Bank" Liskarm, the comedy duo from Blacksteel Worldwide.

When she encountered them, they were walking out of the doctor's office, shoulder to shoulder, looking like they were bullfighting.

As they walked, they continued to tease each other.

Seeing Kanna staring at them, they weren't embarrassed but greeted her kindly.

After all, although Kanna hadn't met them before, they both knew Kanna and were aware that this young cub was currently a favorite in Rhodes Island's leadership.

After watching the two leave, Kanna touched her dragon horns. Liskarm also used Originium Arts involving lightning, and she was a genuine Wyvern, so Kanna had originally wanted to get acquainted.

But it was clearly not the right time; after all, they were busy being affectionate, and it would be tactless for her to go act as a third wheel, even if she could continuously provide power for the "light bulb," it wasn't meant to be used that way (chuckles).

However, seeing Liskarm and her companion reminded her of Popukar and the members of A6 Squad who were on an external mission. They had left Rhodes Island half a month ago, and she didn't know when they would return.

That day, Kanna walked towards Whisperain's office at the usual class time. Because Rosmontis had been called away by Kal'tsit, today was another rare one-on-one class.

Upon entering, she saw that Whisperain was not in the room. Inside, there was only a Feline young lady with purple hair and pink eyes, who looked like she came from a prominent family.

When she saw the door open, she seemed a bit nervous. When she realized that the person entering was a cub who looked less than ten years old, she relaxed.

"Hello, are you looking for Dr. Grace?"

Kanna's head filled with a question mark when she heard the other person's words, "Grace, who's that...?"

Walking to Whisperain's spot and seeing her work badge, she remembered Grace Arizona was Whisperain's real name. However, Operators usually called each other by their codenames, so when she heard the Feline's words, she didn't immediately realize the other person was referring to Whisperain herself.

"My name is Kanna, and I'm here for class!" Kanna pointed to the small blackboard next to the Feline and the book she had picked up and was flipping through, which clearly wasn't for medical use, and spoke.

Hearing Kanna's words, the Feline nervously stood up, "I'm sorry, I didn't know it was your study book. I was just curious..."

As she spoke, she put the book back in its original place, her face flushed red.
