With the classes finished at 2:30 PM, Jimmy walks out into the hallways, yawning. He had the rest of the day free, but at the moment, he intended only to get the two transistors located inside the school campus before then going back to his room to be able to sleep until the next day.
Leaving the main building, Jimmy first climbs onto the roof of the building where the Shop classes take place and grabs the easiest transistor to reach, shoving it into his backpack.
With that done, Jimmy moves to the side of the main building that faces the parking lot.
Arriving there, he approaches a door that leads to the school's basement and fiddles with its doorknob to see if it is open.
Seeing that the door was locked, Jimmy steps back a little before kicking it hard, violently breaking it down.
Then, after looking around for a few minutes to make sure no one saw what he had just done, Jimmy enters the school basement.
Inside, he moves through the place quickly, grabbing a rubber band on the way before reaching the boiler room, where the remaining transistor was located.
Without wasting time, after all, the boiler room was empty at that moment, Jimmy grabs the transistor from the floor and shoves it into his backpack next to the other one.
With that finished, he leaves the basement of the main building through the same place he entered, being careful not to be seen.
Back outdoors, Jimmy closes the broken door behind him and, despite being only a few steps from where hobo Peter lives, he heads toward the boys' dormitory, intending to deliver this old hardware only the next day; at the moment, the world of dreams was calling him.
Going back to the dorm quickly, Jimmy enters the place, yawning and half-asleep. Inside, on the way to his room, he passes in front of the common room and comes across Gary and Pete arguing with each other.
"Go on, Petey! Go cry to the teacher, tell them how mean I've been to you!", Gary says mockingly, pushing Pete's shoulder.
"Shut up, Gary! You're a jerk, man!", Pete replies awkwardly, clearly not really knowing how to fight back insults.
"Oooh, am I, Petey?... oh, you're so mean to me! Seriously, you're making me sad, actually, I think I'm going to cry. So I'll be just like you, crying like a little girl, right, you little bitch?", stepping back a few steps, Gary says while placing his hand on his chest as if Pete's words had hurt him.
Outside the common room of the dormitory, Jimmy watches them for a few seconds before turning and walking away; however, the sound of his sneakers rubbing against the floor catches the attention of the two.
"Huh? Look who we have here, the savior of the day, Jimmy Hopkins!", turning his eyes back to Jimmy, Gary says as if he is presenting a show.
"Yeah, yeah, go ahead with whatever that is, I'm going to my room!", pausing momentarily, Jimmy dismisses the conversation before walking again.
"Strange, you're not like that", stepping into Jimmy's path after he takes just a few steps, Gary says, finding it strange that this idiot doesn't want to start a conversation.
"We've only known each other for three days!", pausing again, Jimmy retorts; what Gary said didn't make sense. How can you find someone's behavior strange when you've only known them for three days?
"Yeah, yeah, that doesn't matter, the point is, we're boring to you now, Jimmy boy?", ignoring what Jimmy just said, Gary asks while gesturing in a way he thinks is threatening.
"Believe whatever you want!", Jimmy says before trying to walk past Gary.
"Wow, now that's impressive, I'm boring? Let me tell you something, friend! You're not as interesting as you think you are either", preventing him from passing, Gary approaches Jimmy and says with his jaw slightly clenched.
"Sure, now get out of my way", lifting his head, Jimmy says calmly, looking directly into Gary's eyes.
"... Wow, okay! Sorry, you two! We're friends, right?", after a few seconds of silence, Gary steps back while apologizing.
"...", Jimmy just stares at him calmly, without answering.
"Okay, listen, I had an idea for us to have some fun!", gesturing for Pete to come closer, Gary says with a malicious smile on his face.
"Go without me! I'm dying of sleep, man", yawning, Jimmy says before once again trying to get past Gary to go to sleep.
"Come on, I'm sure you still have energy for this", grabbing Jimmy's arm, Gary says, stopping him from going to his room.
"... Yawn... fine, spit it out already!", pulling his arm away from Gary, Jimmy says, just wanting to end this quickly.
"There's a hobo who lives inside the school campus, behind that abandoned bus in the parking lot! The idea is for us to go there to torment with this miserable soul", with a voice of someone who is not doing anything good, Gary lays out his idea for Jimmy and Pete.
"Count me out, I'm dying of sleep! Besides, I know the old man and I'm not in the mood to bother him", Jimmy says as soon as he hears Gary's idea about 'fun'.
"I'm not going to do that either, Gary!", Pete says, reluctant about the idea of bothering a homeless person.
"Are you guys serious? Come on, it's going to be fun!" Gary insists, outraged at the refusal of the two.
"See you guys tomorrow!", not giving a damn about what Gary just said, Jimmy says while passing by them and entering his room, locking the door behind him.
"… Come on, Petey! Leave that idiot, he's just afraid of getting scolded by his biological father!", after a few seconds of silence, Gary turns to Pete. He had lost one, but the other was easy prey.
"I... I don't know, Gary", Pete says hesitantly, afraid of getting into trouble. Besides, tormenting a homeless person is not something cool to do.
"Come on, what do I have to do to convince you? I'll give you a kiss if that's what you want", Gary says, trying to convince Pete with what he likes.
"Shut up!", Pete replies, tired of these insults.
"Then come on!", Gary says firmly, gesturing for him to follow, which Pete does reluctantly.
