Chapter 167 - Chapter 166: Honoka Is a Genius in Sealing Techniques

After three days of hurried travel, Itsuki finally arrived at Summoning Island, as marked on the map.

After a brief two-hour rest, the group of four cautiously landed.

However, before they could begin their investigation, they were suddenly attacked by numerous gigantic creatures.

There were massive spiders, centipedes, snakes, lobsters, and lizards—

all kinds of enormous beasts, each no less in size than the Three Great Summoning Beasts.

"No! This is too much commotion—we'll be discovered soon," warned Tenzo, forming hand signs as Wood Release pillars erupted around them to block the giant creatures.

Although these monsters only had a trace of chakra and were not powerful enough to pose a real threat, they would definitely hinder a secret infiltration.

"Leave it to me!" Itsuki closed his eyes for a moment.

When he reopened them, his pupils had transformed into the Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

Sharingan: Genjutsu!

With a low hum, the monstrous creatures that had seen them as enemies suddenly froze.

A second later, they turned and lumbered away as if nothing had happened.

"This is… the Sharingan?!" Tenzo's eyes widened in disbelief. It was the first time he had seen Itsuki's dojutsu in action.

Itsuki smiled calmly. "Teacher Tenzo, my mother is from the Uchiha Clan."

"I've heard about that," Tenzo muttered, stroking his chin with a thoughtful look.

"But I didn't expect you to have awakened the Sharingan—and a Three-Tomoe at that. Judging by your control, you've had it for quite some time."

"I apologize, Teacher Tenzo…" Itsuki began, but Tenzo waved his hand dismissively.

"You don't need to explain. Some secrets, once exposed, can bring trouble to yourself and those close to you. The fact that you're showing me this now already means you trust me."

That warmth in his words—

It was indeed that familiar feeling. Teacher Tenzo really was someone worth trusting.

Itsuki smiled faintly and said no more. Instead, he turned serious. "Before landing, I used the Mind's Eye of the Kagura. There are only about a dozen people on this island, and not many capable of real combat."

"We can handle them easily. They're all gathered in the belly of that mountain ahead."

Tenzo looked into the distance and frowned. "That looks like a volcano. Are they actually running their research base inside a volcano?"

"Many creatures are converging there," said Karin, her expression tightening. "The ones that attacked us earlier are heading that way too. Something big must've happened!"

In truth, Honoka had already sent out a distress message in the harem chat group.

Not long ago, she had once again been taken to the experimental base to suppress the Ultimate Summoning Beast with her sealing technique.

The researchers had fed the beast, but it remained insatiable—devouring several giant creatures. Fearing further trouble, they stopped feeding it.

That was their fatal mistake.

The Ultimate Summoning Beast went berserk, killing two researchers with its tentacles and devouring two more giant creatures alive.

By the time Honoka arrived, chaos had already consumed the lab.

She desperately tried to suppress it with her sealing technique, but her efforts barely held it at bay.

If this continued, everyone in the facility would die.

After Karin received the message, she couldn't reveal it outright and instead found a way to guide everyone toward the volcano as fast as possible.

She kept reminding Honoka in the group to hide.

But Honoka didn't listen—she kept doing her utmost to suppress the beast.

"I'll go ahead and scout. You guys follow me," Itsuki had seen the distress call through the Harem Chat Group.

He hadn't expected the situation to escalate so quickly—the plot had already reached its destruction stage.

With a burst of chakra underfoot, Itsuki shot forward like a shadow.

"Keep up!" Tenzo barked, grabbing Yakumo and Karin as they all raced after him.

Even without the Mind's Eye of the Kagura, Tenzo could feel the chaotic chakra signatures ahead—something had clearly gone wrong.

Soon, Itsuki reached the volcanic core.

A cave had been carved into the mountain wall, an altar-like structure built inside the vast chamber.

"Quickly, stop it!"

"Sealing Technique—hurry up and assist!"

"Do you all want to die here?!"

Inside the cave, Itsuki saw it—a massive, hideous white worm-like creature, radiating violent and destructive chakra.

It roared soundlessly, yet its fury shook the air. Bolts of lightning struck around it, leaving the ground scorched and cratered.

Over a dozen researchers in white coats screamed in terror.

Two ninja who seemed to be the guards couldn't even approach the creature; they could only shield the researchers while shouting at Honoka to continue sealing it.

In the center stood a red-haired girl, no older than sixteen, kneeling barefoot on one knee as she channeled chakra into a seal array.

She had long, straight hair and large dark eyes, dressed in a purple sleeveless kimono tied with a yellow sash and a short white skirt.

She was Honoka, the girl imprisoned here as a living sealing tool.

"No… I can't suppress it anymore!" Honoka cried, her face strained with anxiety—but not fear.

Runes glowed beneath her as chakra surged, gathering into the sealing formula on the worm's body.

But the power difference was too great, and the creature's madness made suppression almost impossible.

"Useless! You can't even do this right—what good are you?"

One of the researchers snarled and whipped a long lash toward her.

The whip cracked through the air. Honoka merely closed her eyes, resigned to pain.

Crack!

The sound echoed—but the pain never came.

When she opened her eyes, a black-haired, black-eyed boy stood before her, face cold and hand gripping the whip tightly.

"Who are you?!" The researcher's face twisted in anger.

"This is the Half-Moon Clan's secret base! How did an outsider like you get in here?! Guards, seize this brat!"

The two ninja—powerless against the beast moments ago—suddenly became eager to attack Itsuki.

They were elite-level shinobi, lightning crackling around their hands as they launched a coordinated assault.

Itsuki's eyes sharpened. "Kumogakure ninja? Figures… your Lightning Release always gives you away."

Not to mention their mastery of Lightning Release Ninjutsu, their dark skin was an obvious trait of the Land of Lightning.

From the instant Itsuki saw Honoka's situation, he had already made up his mind—

no one here would be spared.

The moment his identity was exposed, the researcher's eyes filled with rage.

"You… you should run! I'll hold them off!" Honoka shouted, standing in front of Itsuki despite trembling.

She didn't know who he was, but he had just saved her. That was reason enough.

Forming hand signs, she summoned glowing runes that created a chakra barrier—barely blocking the twin Lightning Release attacks.

Honoka was a genius in Sealing Techniques.

With that skill alone, her strength rivaled that of a Jōnin.

Yet even with her power, she lived worse than a dog.

For the first time, Itsuki truly felt disgust toward the Ninja System itself.

He wanted to destroy it.
