Chapter 12: CRITICAL HITTTT!!!
As Sumit launched himself towards the zombie, the concrete cracked due to his first step.
With a speed nearly twice as that of the best sprinter before apocalypse, he sprinted towards the zombie.
The distance was covered in a matter of seconds and Sumit pulled out his favourite weapon a Hammer from his backpack.
Without wasting any time he swung the hammer towards the head of the zombie aiming to end it's life with a single hit.
But at this moment he saw that the zombie's whose eyes were focused on Rana slowly turned towards him and in an instant the zombie ducked to avoid the fatal blow.
This whole sequence happened in almost 3 seconds so for the trio left to buy time, it was nothing short of seeing a superhuman fight.
"Woah! that was so quick, he almost looked like a speedster from those comics.", Sahil exclaimed with a fanatic voice.
"But the zombie was still able to dodge him, which means it should be almost as fast as him if not faster." Irfan said with a grave voice.
"Which means that our task here just got a lot harder." Sapna added.
As the trio thought of a viable strategy, Sumit was having his own troubles.
"What the hell-?" As Sumit said these words he saw the hands of the zombie morphing into sickles.
"This shit just turned into a praying mantis! System does it have multiple skills?".
[Host that's just impossible for a creature of its level. You see having a skill places an immense burden on one's body and soul]
"So that leaves only one explanation. There are at least two different zombies. But one of them is hidden."

As the zombie counterattacked, Sumit barely dodged it and screamed.
"YOU GUYS LEAVE THOSE 100 ZOMBIES, ONE ZOMBIE IS CONTROLLING THEM ALL. FIND IT!!!"
The trio who were about to implement their strategy, heard this and Sahil said.
"LEAVE IT TO US SIR, YOU FOCUS ON THAT ZOMBIES."
"Guys I have another plan now. Lets use Rana as a bait", Sahil said.
"What's your logic?", Sapna asked.
"I guess Sahil means that the zombie was only able to target Rana because he was not mentally strong enough among us. So it would surely make a move to devour him." Irfan thought of a hypothesis.
"Also I believe that all the zombies here are being controlled by that one zombie. Otherwise they would not have waited for us to exit the building." Sahil continued.
"So, I believe our best bet is to look into the direction Rana is moving right now?" , Sapna said.
"Yeah you are right. As for the zombies behind us, they are quite slow so Irfan and I would keep their attention on us, Sapna among us 3 you are the strongest so find the mental zombie." Sahil said with conviction.
"Okay! Count on me! " Sapna said and rushed towards Rana.
Meanwhile…..
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The tempo of Sumit's battle was steadily increasing.
With bother having exchanged about 100 moves within a minute.
Sumit's hand was now shaking uncontrollably.
"If this keeps up, My hammer would be shattered first.", Sumit said as he looked at the body of his metal hammer that was filled with dents.
SWISH!
Giving Sumit no time to think, the zombie swung its sickle like arms at Sumit's neck aiming to decapitate him.
Sumit who was not fast enough to react was only able to swing at its forearm aiming to avoid direct hit with the sickle and stopping it at same time.
At that time Sumit saw a faint spark appear at the contact site and then…
BOOOOOMMMM!!!
A Shockwave erupted flinging the zombie into the adjacent building and Sumit into the opposite direction towards the zombie hoard.
[CRITICAL HITTTTT!!!]
[FOR THE NEXT 15 SECONDS THE PROBABILITY OF LANDING CRITICAL HIT DOUBLES!!]
These messages sounded in Sumit's ears as he was still in air and he was reminded of the passive he unlocked with his mana attribute.
As Sumit landed on his feet, he was sure of one fact that the opponent was not dead yet, because he had not got the notification about it.
He was now dangerously close to the zombie horde although Sahil and Irfan managed to pull 70 zombies towards themselves, but right now over30 zombies were heading towards Sumit.
Without wasting any time Sumit quickly rushed towards the zombie horde and proceeded to destroy them within seconds.
[CRITICAL HITTTT!!!!]

"So if I keep landing critical hits within 15 seconds then the probability will keep multiplying, is there an limit, time to test it now." Sumit said as he looked towards the rubble and out of which walked his opponent.
It's whole left side was now missing and it was having trouble keeping it's balance . The extent of its injury would have killed a normal person but it was a zombie so it was still "alive".
The zombie vanished from his place and swung his remaining arm at Sumit's legs intending to incapacitate him.
Sumit who had already braced himself managed to jump and swung his hammer down at the zombie's remaining shoulder with the full force of gravity.
The hammer connected and a cracking sound was heard.
But the zombie who could not feel any pain this was of no concern.
It continued to counterattack Sumit by making use of its now dislocated shoulder.
Using the increased reach of the shoulder, it managed to move the sickle like a whip aimed at Sumit's back.
Sumit who was mid air could only forcefully bend his body to form a C shape.
"ARGHHH!"
Despite his maneuver he received a gash on his left flank.
Blood started to pour out of his wound and dyed his clothes red.
The zombie did not Stop it's attack and spun it's body rapidly. The sickle now aimed at Sumit's midsection, to bisect him in half.
