Borrelod Furious Dragon stared at Ryoken with an unreadable expression. Well it couldn't show any other expression since it was a mechanical Dragon.
"Human are you the one that called for me?"
"Do you see anyone else here?" Ryoken replied nonchalantly, not phased by the dragon.
The dragon sneered "Give me a reason for why I should lend you my strength."
"There's really no need for you to lend it, it's already mine. We're bonded, though not acknowledged by both, it still is there."
"You do know that a bond like that can simply be broken because there's no agreement?"
"Ofcourse. But here's the thing, this isn't the spirit world, and you're bound to this card in my hand."
Ryoken held the card In front of the dragon, the card showcasing him in it.
High level spirits weren't like low level ones, they weren't helpless that they would easily agree to bond with you when you help them out.
For these ones, you need to prove your worth. To prove you're worthy of using their power. However Ryoken had a different thought.
Sure if this Furious Dragon didn't acknowledge him, he wouldn't have access to most of its power. But he still had the card and could use it during the duel.
So it was the best for the dragon in front of him to accept the bond so they could stand equal to each other instead of a one sided bond.
The dragon let out a loud roar as he flapped his wing, generating a gust of wing that made Ryoken take a step back.
"Very well human. I will accept the contract." As those words left the dragon's mouth, a new energy cursed through Ryoken's body.
It was different from what he experienced when he got Medea or Magik. The difference of power between these two with Furious Dragon was on another level.
"Enjoying my power human?"
"Not bad. Guess you're not all size and do have some power." Ryoken joked, much to the Dragon's amusement "Also, Call me Ryoken or partner if you want."
"Alright."
Medea suddenly appeared between the two of them, on guard and protecting Ryoken.
"Ryo what's going on with this spirit?" She asked, a bead of sweat appearing on her forehead as she looked at the dragon.
'If I stall him, Ryo can probably get enough time to escape...' She thought to herself, ready to sacrifice herself.
Ryoken chuckled upon seeing her serious expression "Take it easy Medea. This big fella is our new party member."
Medea looked at the dragon then at Ryoken, thinking how this happened. Just a minute ago, she was hunting some spirits, especially an annoying trio of Ojamas.
Then she felt a monstrous spirit aura near the area that Ryoken was supposed to be, making her worry and get there as soon as possible.
But it seemed her worries were unnecessary, Ryoken had just then what he always does, doing something amazing and acting nonchalant about it.
"Interesting, so you already have another spirit. well other than that little kuriboh hiding behind you."
Magik raised his staff, as telling Furious Dragon he wasn't hiding and was ready to put up a fight.
Just then the system's screen appeared in front of Ryoken, surprising him as he didn't call for it.
[Congratulations, Host has achieved all the necessary requirements for the special quest.]
[Quest (Rite to challenge the Supreme King) is now available for Host.]
"???"
[Host will be teleported in 5 seconds.]

Ryoken felt a wave of nausea hit him, before passing out. The last thing he saw was his spirits running towards him.

[Quest: The Rite to challenge the Supreme King 1/4]
[Requirements]
1. Duel against 5 named characters and win against them. (Serena, Barret, Zane, Yuri, Crowler)
2. Obtain 3 Spirits. (Medea, Magik, Furious Dragon)
3. At least 1000 Victories in Duel. (+5.5K)
(A/N: For the number of duels I simply set the bar for 5 duels per day, so calculated how many duels that will be given the 3 years time skip.)
Ryoken stared at the screen, the only colourful thing in the dark area except himself.
As he regained consciousness, he saw that he was teleported to an area bare of any life from. Just a Wasteland that seemed to have no end.
He wasn't concerned by this much, what concerned him was the condition to leave this place.
[Beat the fragment of the supreme king Zarc (Fusion Counterpart) in a Shadow Game.]
[Rewards:
1. Key to escape from the different dimension world.
2. Chance to absorb the Supreme King's power. (Not suggested, highly dangerous and comes with side effects)
3. If the power of the supreme king is absorbed completely, gain skill (Card Printing)
4. Removes the control of Zarc over Yuri, Zarc's fusion dimension counterpart.
All these rewards were mouth watering, well except the first one. But still it was beyond what he expected.
But that also made him be concerned. If the rewards were this luxurious, then his opponent which was supposedly Zarc, is bound to be strong.
Worst of all this was a shadow, you lose you die. Or at least the gist of it.
He sighed, deciding to accept the quest and duel Zarc, well a part of him. Better than facing him as a whole.
The main reason he was doing this was for the reward that said Yuri will be freed from the control of Zarc.
Three years. That's the amount of time he had spent With Yuri and Serena. To say he hadn't developed a bond with the two of them would be a lie.
The two reminded him of his siblings before he died in his previous life, not that he replaced them with these two. They all were different people after all.
If he could make his little brother escape the fate he was bound to experience in canon, then he would do anything in his power to do so, even if it meant risking his life.
That's why he even chose to reincarnate here, to change the original and create a world for everyone to enjoy.
"Sigh... Let's do this. Zarc I'm coming for you." He stated to himself before accepting the quest.
