[Ryoken Wins!]
As the announcement was spread throughout the Arena, everyone looked at Ryoken with awe.
A student beating Dr. Vellian Crowler? And not even having a hard time against him? It just was something impossible in their mind.
"Teacher that was a fun duel." Ryoken said, holding a hand in front of Crowler to shake it.
Crowler sighed and shook his head "You beat me easily. What fun was there in it."
"I just got lucky with what I drew. I'm sure you weren't even going all out."
What Ryoken said was true, as the system said, Crowler's ace card was Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem. If he had opted for a different tactic, or if Ryoken didn't know about it, he could have done more.
"So when do I get my dorm?"
"That's a matter that will be personally discussed with professor Akaba." Crowler informed him before leaving the arena.
"Now what should I do?" He asked himself before remembering the rewards.
Heading out of the arena, he planned to go somewhere secluded, but as he exited he saw Zane waiting for him.
"That was a good duel. I expected you to use one of your weird decks, but I guess even you have some respect for people."
Ryoken smiled as he continued his way, Zane now joining and following him..
"Well I can't disrespect a teacher in front of his students right?"
"So you would have if there were no spectators?"
Ryoken just shrugged, not answering Zane's question much to his amusement.
"So what's our dorm's name gonna be?"
"Our? quite eager to join huh?"
"I'd rather be close to you so I can keep an eye and clean up whatever mess you're gonna cause."
Ryoken chuckled hearing his reason "You make it sound as if I'm a child."
"You are." Zane said nonchalantly, making Ryoken shake his head.
"Whatever. I don't have any name for the dorm yet, but might suggest to name it Zarc Dorm."
"Zarc? Why?"
"Nothing. I just heard professor Akaba is a big fan of that name."
"Interesting, I didn't know that." Zane muttered, surprised by the information.
If only Zane knew how much Akaba despised that name, he would have scolded Ryoken.
"By the way, do you know any good students that can join our dorm?"
He needed competent students to join his dorm to train them to stand against the academia in future, and if he could make them join sooner, then better.
"I have a few in mind. One's a girl, Alexis Rhodes. She's intelligent but sometimes gets hotheaded."
Alexis huh? he still remembered how she fumbled her confession to jaden. Then again even if she confessed, Yubel probably would have came out and killed her.
Yandere girls were scary, and if they were a duel spirit then they were even scarier.
"Next one is another guy who took the exam. He really didn't need it as he had all the connections and résumé as a successful duelist, but nevertheless took it."
'Ah he must be talking about Aster.'
To say he wasn't interested in dueling against Aster, it would be a lie. A duel between two hero decks was a dream come true.
"There's also this boy chazz, he's a bit narcissistic and arrogant. But he does have some skill."
Oh? We had Chazz here too? out of Jadens friends he was the most competent. Then again Jaden really didn't have any good friends, that is if we exclude students from other Academy like Jesse or Axel.
"Interesting... by the way, Mind I stay in your room till our dorm gets ready?"
"Sure I don't mind it."
After a few more small talks with Zane, they bid farewell and Ryoken went to a certain location he had in mind.
The abandoned dorm. In GX series, other than the main three dorms and few other facilities, there was also this abandoned dorm which previously was one of the main ones, but after an accident and students disappearing it was abandoned.
Some might ask why Ryoken would go there of all places, which the answer for it was obvious.
If a place is said to be abandoned due to supernatural reasons, specially in Yu-Gi-Oh, then it meant there were some spirits in that location.
Basically he was going there to hunt spirits. Yes he was going to hunt them and let Medea absorb their power.
Was it cruel? maybe. But as always, did he care? Not really. They were just some random spirits with ill intent, might as well use them to his hearts content.
Reaching the location using the map function of the system, he finally reached the abandoned dorm.
"Medea." He called for her, which in a matter of second she appeared, standing beside him.
"Yes Ryo?"
"This building is full of spirits. Go and have some fun." He ordered, which she obliged and went inside the dorm.
Ryoken decided to collect the rewards he gained while she was busy clearing the building.
"Lets go with the mediocre reward first. System open 10 master packs."
[Congratulations host has gained the following cards!]
UR Borreload Furious Dragon × 1
UR Masquerade the Blazing Dragon × 1
SR Voloferniges, the Darkest Dragon × 1 Doomrider
SR Drowning Mirror Force × 1
Ryoken stared at the screen with his mouth agap, before Bowing to the system and apologising.
"Sorry system I wasn't familiar with your game."
He got the fucking Masquerade dragon. Meta players knew how much of a killer this card was in his era and still is.
This card was too much for this dimension. Which was exactly what he needed.
To top it off, He got one Borreload Furious Dragon too, a card belonging to the archetype that the Original Ryoken used in the Vrains series.
[Due to the host's similar looks and information as the Character Ryoken Kogami from The Vrains! Series, Borrelod Furious Dragon has the potential of awakening as spirit.]
"Oh? that's neat. Wait if I had chosen kaiba did that mean the Blue-eyes white dragon in my deck would have had a spirit too?"
[Answer, Yes.]
Ryoken for a moment regretted not picking kaiba, but then decided not to linger on it too much. The games the game, and what happened in the past remains in the past.
[Suggestion, Host can use the Spirit ticket they have to awaken the spirit of Furious Dragon. The effects of the card will also be changed to suit this dimension.]
Ryoken pondered about systems offer, weighing the pros and cons.
It really wasn't a bad offer. The ticket he had would give him a random spirit below level 8, meaning it could either give him a low level one or a high one if he was lucky.
Borrelod Furious Dragon was already a level 8 monster with great attack points and effect, meaning that if he were to use the spirit ticket on it he wouldn't lose anything, rather he would maximize the amount of reward he would gain.
"I accept. Use the ticket to awaken Borrelod Furious Dragon's spirit."
The ticket appeared Infront of him before turning into light particles, which all got absorbed by the card mentioned.
Dark clouds began to gather in the sky, circling around each other as the speed of the wind picked up, making a storm.
Then from the card a purple light shot to the eye of the storm, cutting through the wind and shining brightly, making Ryoken shield his eyes.
As the storm disappeared he opened his eyes and only to be met with the figure of Borrelod Furious Dragon standing before him, looking down at him.
"Jackpot."
