As Malorie and Priscilla dined over breakfast, Malorie asked:
"How about your children, Lady Priscilla? Mama said you have a boy and a girl."
"Oh, I do have a boy and a girl. Christiane helps at the local midwifery in town. Maroon is the Eastern Duke's physician." A proud smile graced her face as she spoke about her children.
"Aw, that is lovely. It would be lovely to meet them." Priscilla only chuckled. "Have you been to the East?" Malorie asked.
"Oh yes. Maroon sometimes does not get breaks. He is a wonderful physician, and the Eastern time would love to keep him at all times, so I and Christiane usually visit him ourselves, if the Duke lets us." Malorie nodded as she stirred her soup. She knew Priscilla's son was in the East, and that is why she had brought up the conversation.
"Is it long? The journey from here to the East?"
