"Do you want to learn magic?" I asked.
"Huh?" Elvie blinked, confused at my sudden question.
I reached out to her hand and repeated the same question.
"Tell me, Elvie, do you want to learn magic from me?"
"Do you wanna learn magic?"
My words hung in the air like a challenge and a promise.Elvie blinked again, her eyes still wet, her lips trembling slightly.
"...Magic?" she repeated in disbelief.
"Yeah." I smiled faintly, crouching to her level. "If you can learn magic, you can save yourself without relying on me... Sometimes, action speaks if words don't work."
She sniffled, staring at her trembling hands.
"I... I don't have any affinity," she whispered. "Even if I wanted to…"
I smirked.
"That's what people think. But affinity is not something you're born with — it's something you were close to... and you were close to science, so that you can do everything with magic."
Her eyes widened slightly.I extended my hand toward her.
"You still wanna try?"
For a long moment, she hesitated. The wind rustled through the tree leaves above, carrying the faint hum of mana in the air. Finally, she nodded.
"Good."
"Whoa!... Krish, what is this place?"
[{jeff}..welcome.. to mist space... dear guest]
"Ahhh!.. who are you?... Krish, are you seeing this... a floating window?"
I brought Elvie into my
"Relax... he is Jeff, and he manages this space," I said.
"O-oh yeah? Nice to meet you... I guess?" she greeted Jeff, still wary, tugging my sleeve.
Aww... she's so cute.
[{jeff}... nice to meet you, Ms. Elvie.]
"Hey, Krish, what is this place? Where are we?" she whispered.
After a few minutes of explanation, we both sat down at the table.
"So... he's something called a system, and he manages this space-skill thingy of yours, and you can even move from one place to another?"
"That's right!" I replied.
"Hmm... uh huh..." She nodded for a moment and then, "Didn't understand a bit!"
She said it with a playful tap on her head.
...Oy... are you serious? No, I'm the wrong one here.
"You'll understand soon," I sighed.
"ELVIE!!"
I suddenly shouted like an army commander.Elvie, who was playing with Jeff's screen, straightened immediately and turned to me.
"On your feet!!"
"Huh?"
"I said, on your feet!!"
"Yes!"
She instantly sat on her knees, like a student obeying her teacher.Time to drop the act.
"I'll ask you again... Do you want to learn magic?"
She hesitated.
"Yes!"
Then she suddenly shouted.
My eyes widened a bit. Then, closing my eyes, I turned toward Elvie.
"Good... I hope we get along well, Elvie."
After seeing Elvie off, I headed back to my house, thinking about her status.
[A few hours later]
I made Elvie study the periodic table with Jeff's help.
[{jeff}..master, I have finished appraising.]
"Show me."

"Wait! Another magic king skill... what is this, Jeff?"
[{jeff}... yes, master. There are three magic king skills in this world, as for now.]
"As for now?"
[{jeff}... yes. Magic King Stagnet of demi-humans... Magic King Loki of demons... were the only magic king skills known in this world.]
"Then explain it fully."
[{jeff}... The skill concept in this world is still foreign to humans. However, there's a saying that every living being is born with a talent — from the scriptures of the Sun God religion in the holy super-continent of Luminaria.]
"And those talents are these skills?"
[{jeff}... yes, master. However, supreme skills have never been granted to humans before. Only a few like [HERO] and [SAINT]... but there are no records of a Magic King skill appearing in human civilization — that was until now.]
"Making me the first holder of
[{jeff}... yes. Stagnet of demi-humans, Loki of demons, and finally Krishna of humans make the three Magic Kings of [Ghi]. These individuals hold power equal to the Ten Great Powers of this world. As of now, only Loki of demons has been made public as the Tenth Great Power. These individuals don't possess a single affinity toward magic, and current technology can only measure up to three affinities.]
"So that's why she was brainwashed into thinking she had no affinity," I said, looking at Elvie, who was still reading the periodic table while scratching her head."Then why does she look so concerned about having no affinity?"
[{jeff}... Yes, master. For your question, her race is the answer.]
"What do you mean?"
[{jeff}... Elves hold magic prowess in high regard, and an elf without an affinity is equal to being a slave in the Serene Continent.Maybe that's why she was living in the Cindra Continent, where all races are equal.Being separated from her homeland must be a big reason for her concern and depression.]
"Yeah..." I said, turning toward Elvie.
[Present]
After that, I went to my house. While eating dinner—
"Hmm..."
{'Sera: dear!'}{'Navir: yes, what is it?'}{'Sera: isn't Krish looking quiet today?'}{'Navir: yeah... let me talk to him.'}
"Krish?"
My father, who was whispering to my mother, suddenly called out to me.
"Y-yeah?"I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at him.
"If something's wrong, you can tell us. We'll hear you."
Something's wrong?...And you will hear?
"That's it?"I picked up my bowl and dashed to the kitchen to clean it, ignoring my shocked parents.
"Thank you, father!"
Saying that, I ran to my room and began doing something I just remembered...And my parents could only slide the door open slightly, watching their son doing something weird — worry in their eyes.
[Next Morning]
I was at the big tree, waiting for Elvie to come.
"Oh! Krish, you're already here."
There she is.
"Here, take this."I took out a small book and a pen I had made last night.
"What is this?" she asked.
"Hehe... a dual diary."
