Passing by, Pell saw that Luffy was bleeding heavily from his stomach and couldn't help but step forward and ask, "Young man, are you alright?"
Damn, if Sandy were here, he would definitely retort, "Let your stomach get pierced through and see if you're alright!"
But Luffy was different. At this moment, he just grabbed Pell's clothes and weakly muttered, "I want to eat... meat... meat..."
On the other side, Zoro and Nami encountered Mr. 1 and his partner Miss Doublefinger.
Mr. 1, also known as Daz Bones, was a Chop-Chop Devil Fruit user—his body could turn into blades.
Miss Doublefinger, whose real name was Paula, was a Thorn-Thorn Fruit user.
After meeting, each side picked an opponent. Nami—without a word—chose to run away, while Paula chased after her.
When Nami suddenly stopped, Paula smirked. "Little girl, why aren't you running anymore?"
Nami spun her Clima-Tact, stuck out her tongue playfully, and said, "Look above your head."
"Above my head?" Paula looked up—and was instantly struck by lightning!
Just like that, Nami won! The plot twist was so abrupt it caught everyone off guard.
Looking at the unconscious Paula, Nami sighed, "Really... I still had other special moves."
Meanwhile, Zoro faced off against Daz Bones. After exchanging a few words, Zoro was buried under the rubble of a collapsed building following a barrage of slashes.
Daz looked at the debris and scoffed. "Tch. So this is all the Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro amounts to? Truly disappointing."
But as he turned to leave, the rubble shifted. Zoro stood back up, bloodied but unbroken.
Zoro spoke in a calm, low voice. "I have a sword that can move mountains. I have a sword that can overturn seas. I have a sword that can cleave the sky.
There's nothing in this world that cannot be cut. That's the essence of the Three-Sword Style. Hey... you on the other side."
Zoro's piercing gaze and heavy words sent a shiver through Daz's heart.
"Oh?" Daz tried to suppress his unease. The man before him looked like a monster.
"You're still alive? Useless struggle. I'm a Chop-Chop Fruit user—my whole body is made of blades. Swordsmen like you can't hurt me... unless you can cut steel."
Zoro picked up his Wado Ichimonji and pointed it straight at Daz. "Thank you for making me stronger. I finally understand why Sandy practiced that single chop every day. So that's what it meant... It seems I still need to train more."
Daz frowned. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Zoro remembered Sandy's sarcasm and instinctively shot back, "What I'm saying is none of your damn business! Does it have anything to do with you?"
Whoa!
After that retort, Zoro felt like he had discovered a new world. So this is what it feels like to talk back like that!
Still—first things first. Time to cut this guy down.
Before Daz could respond, Zoro gripped his sword tightly.
"One-Sword Style... Ichi Gorilla!"
A flash of light passed between them. A moment later, Daz felt pain. He was a Chop-Chop user—he was supposed to be invincible against blades. Yet somehow... he was cut.
If Sandy were here, he'd definitely pick a fight with Zoro. This shameless guy stole my domineering name! Cutting scrap metal and acting like a god—bah!
But in the end, Zoro won.
Elsewhere, a revived Luffy went after Crocodile again. Their battle raged in the palace.
Although Crocodile was badly beaten, Luffy accidentally touched his desiccating sand hand and got drained again...
Luckily, when Crocodile took King Cobra and Robin into the underground palace, Luffy was revived by the water nearby. Of course—the protagonist can't die!
Meanwhile, Sandy and Smoker were rushing toward Alubarna.
Sandy grumbled, "Your Navy's too damn incompetent! Can't even cover such a short distance properly!"
Smoker shot back, "If it weren't for you constantly pissing me off, I wouldn't have forgotten the map!"
"Tch." Sandy sneered. "With that gray head and grumpy old face, are you even in a position to call anyone else an idiot?"
Smoker growled, "You wanna fight again?!"
Tashigi sighed. "Can you two stop arguing already? You've been at it the entire way!"
Sandy scoffed. "You think I want to argue with him? 'Justice this, justice that,' all day long. Does anyone call him a hero? No—he's just a delusional fantasist, living in his own world. Bah!"
Smoker clenched his fists. He couldn't beat him in a fight, and now he couldn't even out-argue him.
Finally, Smoker snapped. "We're at Alubarna! Go do your damn thing—and don't let me see you again!"
Coughing lightly, Sandy ignored him and instead blew a kiss to Tashigi before heading straight toward the palace plaza, where the sounds of battle echoed.
When he arrived, he saw Nami and the others trying to stop Vivi from rushing in.
As soon as Nami saw Sandy, her eyes widened. "Sandy!!"
"Oh? Sandy, it really is you!" Chopper said, tears welling up. "Crocodile said he defeated you—we were all so worried!"
Sandy raised an eyebrow. "What did you just say? That Crocodile said he defeated me?"
Nami nodded. "Yeah, he told everyone that, but we didn't believe it!"
Vivi stepped forward, relieved. "It's so good that you're alright."
Wrapped up like a mummy, Usopp called out, "Sandy! Hurry and help Luffy—he's fighting Crocodile with everything he's got!"
"Where are they?" Sandy demanded. "Take me there!"
Sanji stopped him. "We've got other problems first. Look! If we don't stop those idiots from fighting, the consequences will be unimaginable!"
Zoro added, "Luffy said he found a way to defeat Crocodile."
Sandy rolled his eyes. "I believe him. I just regret not finishing that bastard with one sword last time. Can you believe he went around saying he beat me?"
"Don't worry about that now!" Nami snapped. "Focus on fixing this situation—fast!"
Sandy smirked. "Cough, cough... simple enough." He pulled a strange device from his backpack.
No one could stop Sandy from showing off now. Especially not in front of such a big crowd.
Excitement burned in his chest—time to shine again.
