Chapter 491 - Chapter 491: Luke's Goal

Chapter 491: Luke's Goal

The Feral Counterattack

Jiu was a wild beast that hadn't been fully tamed. Normally, he was simple and silly, looking easy to bully, but once provoked, his cruel nature was exposed.

There were five people blocking the road. In the blink of an eye, they were on the ground, their leg bones shattered, screaming in agony.

After dealing with them, the boy returned to Luke, asking for praise.

"I'm done fighting."

Luke patted his head.

"We'll have a whole roasted lamb feast tonight."

"Awesome! Jiu loves roasted lamb the most!"

The three drove away, not even glancing at the five people writhing on the ground. Humiliation was etched on the faces of the injured. The heroic young man suppressed his pain and pulled out his phone, calling his Senior Brother.

Half an hour later, Second Senior Brother Ma Yuan arrived with a group of subordinates.

"Chao Xian, you... how are you doing?"

The youth gritted his teeth and cried out in pain. "My legs! My legs are broken!"

Ma Yuan quickly examined the injuries. When he saw the irregularly twisted calves, his face turned livid. With injuries like this, even if they healed, he would never be able to practice martial arts again.

"You really have nerve, Luke Shaw, to strike so viciously!"

"Don't worry, Chao Xian. Your revenge, your Second Senior Brother will surely get for you."

Leaving a few people to escort the wounded back to the city, Ma Yuan led the rest of the fighters in pursuit. An hour later, they found Luke and the others outside a farmhouse restaurant.

Ma Yuan took a deep breath and stepped forward.

"Mr. Shaw has quite the reputation, crippling my Junior Brother's legs without even asking a question."

Luke completely ignored him. While eating fried bullfrog, he spoke to the boy whose mouth was smeared with oil.

"Same as before. Break both their legs."

"Oh!"

Jiu nodded obediently. He was about to wipe his mouth with his sleeve, but noticing Linda's gaze, he grabbed a napkin, wiped quickly, and charged toward Ma Yuan and his men outside.

What followed was intense fighting and miserable cries of pain.

The group battled fiercely in the yard, thoroughly wrecking the small farmhouse restaurant. The proprietress watched, heartbroken. She was about to call the police when Luke called her over.

He opened his travel bag and took out six bundles from a pile of cash, placing them on the table.

"This is your compensation. It's enough for you to open another farmhouse restaurant. Also, prepare three plates of fried bullfrog and a bucket of hot water. My brother here will need a bath later."

The proprietress, who was forty years old, had never encountered such a situation. She couldn't help but look the two over, pondered for a few seconds, and finally picked up the cash.

Soon, the fried bullfrog and hot water were ready, and the fighting in the yard came to an end.

A bruised and swollen Jiu ran back.

"Brother, I'm done fighting."

"Well done. Go to the back and take a bath. Come out and eat after you've washed up."

"Oh!"

The boy was obedient as always. He didn't ask why and followed the proprietress to the back room.

Linda glanced at the people in the yard—their legs broken, lying on the ground, screaming miserably—and couldn't help but ask,

"What exactly are you doing?"

Luke spread his hands. "They attacked first. I'm just retaliating defensively."

"Stop circling around. I'm not blind. You're clearly provoking trouble."

The girl huffed. "You better tell me why, or I'm going back to Shanghai. I won't play your game anymore."

"Do you really want to know?"

"I don't want to run around causing trouble like an idiot with you."

"Alright."

Luke put down his wine glass. "You guessed correctly. I am intentionally provoking trouble. The Five Sacred Peaks Sect is just the beginning; there will be more to come. I want to stir up the entire Chinese ancient martial arts world—partly to get justice for the old beggar, and partly to obtain something."

"What thing?"

"The Heavenly Master's Strategy."

Linda hesitated. "Is that the treasure of the Daoist gates you mentioned before?"

"Precisely. That's the one."

The girl grew more confused. "If you want to become an Immortal, why don't you just practice the Tiger Fiend Scripture? Why look for that?"

Luke picked up a piece of fragrant, tender bullfrog meat and ate as he spoke. "The Tiger Fiend Scripture isn't suitable for me, and I can't master it. The Heavenly Master's Strategy is different. It focuses on the cultivation of the spirit. Initially, I wasn't interested in it, but after seeing the Old Daoist's soul body, I suddenly realized that thing is quite extraordinary. It's practically custom-made for me. With it, I can take a step further and reach an unimaginable realm." He paused, then smiled.

"I've only told you this. I haven't even mentioned it to the Thirteen Apostles. You must keep it a secret for me."

Linda was completely speechless. "If you want the Heavenly Master's Strategy, why don't you just steal it? Why waste time here?"

"Steal it?"

Luke laughed and shook his head. "You think too simply. I don't even know where it is. How can I steal it?"

"Can't you find out?"

"A.V.A. can only collect information from the internet. She can't find secrets hidden in books. The Heavenly Master's Strategy is the treasure of the Daoist gates. Who knows where they've hidden it?"

"To get it, I have to rely on other means."

"So you're deliberately causing trouble and provoking chaos?"

"Enough."

Luke waved his hand. "I have my own plan. Just don't worry about it."

After his bath, Jiu looked like his usual energetic self again, though his bruised and swollen face was a bit funny.

After eating their fill, the three set off.

Ma Yuan and the others were sent to the hospital by the police who arrived upon hearing the news. Their injuries were the same as the previous group: shattered leg bones, making it impossible to practice martial arts again, even after recovery.

Hearing the news, Yue Buqun was furious, smashing a table with his fist. The expressions of his disciples were grim.

The opponent's actions were clearly a blatant insult to the face of the Five Sacred Peaks Sect.

As core disciples, their fates were already tied to the sect. An insult to the sect was an insult to themselves.

"Who struck the blow?"

"It was the boy beside Luke Shaw, named Jiu."

"What about the two of them?"

"Luke Shaw and Linda Danvers sat aside and did not intervene."

"Good. Very good. Using a mere boy as a pawn."

"Eldest Brother!"

The eldest disciple, Zuo Qiu, quickly stepped forward, bowing. "Master."

"You go. Take Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth. No matter what you have to do, dismantle that boy's legs."

"What about Luke Shaw?"

"If he intervenes, then you may act. If he doesn't, you must not attack them."

Yue Buqun was still apprehensive about Luke Shaw. That was someone the higher-ups had explicitly ordered to protect. He could not provoke him unless absolutely necessary.

"Also, send a few people to keep an eye on them."

"Understood, Master."

Zuo Qiu nodded, feeling somewhat relieved. If it was just the boy, everything would be manageable. With several senior and junior brothers, plus a group of capable fighters, they numbered at least thirty people. Even if the boy was incredibly powerful, he couldn't possibly fight thirty people alone.

Night fell. The three traveled along the suburban highway, heading from west to east, aimlessly.

When they reached a mountain hollow, the car stopped.

Luke smiled.

"Jiu, let me ask you a question: do you want to become Superman?"

"What is Superman?"

"It's someone very powerful."

"More powerful than Sister?"

He had seen Linda's power with his own eyes. A light punch could shatter a concrete wall—he couldn't do that.

"Not as powerful as your Sister, but much stronger than you are now."

"I want to become Superman!"

The boy said excitedly. "Become Superman, protect Brother and Sister, and get lots of delicious food every day."

"Good. Brother will grant your wish."

A streak of light descended from the sky, landing in the middle of the mountain hollow.
