"No need to hide. I know you're there."
In the dense forest of the Strong Magic Region, Admiller suddenly stopped and hurled a blast of black energy to her right.
Bang!
The dark mist was instantly dispersed by a pulse of Time Magic. From behind a tree, a man with a calm, almost saintly smile stepped out.
"As expected of you, Admiller," said Lucius.
He approached slowly. His tone was kind, but his eyes were sharp and calcuLading. This had to be done fast, precise, and merciless.
Admiller wasn't an ordinary high-ranking demon—she'd escaped unscathed from the clash of two Demon Kings.
"Stop right there," she snapped. Her lazy demeanor hardened, her voice cold. "You carry Astaroth's aura… Who are you?"
"The god of the new world," Lucius answered simply.
In a blink, he teleported behind her, trapping Admiller inside a shimmering blue Time Magic barrier.
"Fake?"
Admiller's body liquefied into black water.
Lucius didn't flinch—instead, he smiled. "You can't escape my hand."
Miles away, at the border of the Clover Kingdom, Admiller's body reformed, dripping with black liquid. Her expression shifted from tense to her usual lazy smirk.
"Heh. You think you can—"
A hand rested on her shoulder.
"What's that stench?" Lucius whispered mockingly behind her.
Admiller's eyes widened. "Impossible!"
Her body melted again, fleeing in panic.
Lucius frowned. "I don't have time to play."
He severed another timeline. In an instant, he was behind Admiller again—her body exhausted, her movements sluggish.
"Melt away," she hissed, firing a blast of corrosive black energy that struck Lucius full in the face.
A burning sizzle echoed through the trees—Lucius's body turned into black liquid.
Admiller exhaled in relief. "Finally… got you." She took a cautious step back. "Better run before—"
Clang.
The faint sound of a thread being plucked froze her in place.
Her body stiffened.
"No… impossible…"
Lucius stood before her once more, smirking. "Just be my nourishment."
Before she could move, his grimoire opened. Admiller was sucked inside in a swirl of black and gold energy.
A tremendous magical force exploded from Lucius's body.
"The thread of fate cannot be changed," he murmured, eyes glowing. "The rest can only be seized."
Huge divine antlers sprouted from his head. A massive magic circle unfolded behind him. Six golden wings unfurled from his back, and the black sun mark on his face turned brilliant gold.
Even his grimoire changed—its cover now bore a ring of spades and clovers, and its back shone with a golden sun.
Lucius had become something divine.
"I will resurrect you all… and give you new life," he said with a fanatical gleam in his eyes.
Then he turned toward the royal capital. The activation device of the Magic Book Towers was there. He needed control—before Ladin destroyed everything.
With several resurrected "acquaintances" in tow, Lucius set off toward the capital.
…
"Oh my god… how did you eat me?"
Adam glared at Morris, disbelief on his face.
A mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind—classic.
When Adam had used the Rabbit's power earlier, Ladin had sensed it immediately.
That bastard never let his guard down—not even while toying with devils.
"Long time no see," Ladin said, and before Adam could react, his fist slammed into Adam's face.
The Dragon Burst in Adam's hand erupted, vaporizing Ladin's arm—but the man barely flinched.
"I didn't want to see you either," Adam spat. He lunged for the magic pill, but Ladin's demonic claws sprouted from his back, swatting Adam away like a fly.
"You've grown weaker," Ladin sneered.
The memory of his first fight with Adam flickered across his mind—how powerless he'd felt. But now, everything was reversed.
"You're not much better," Adam shot back.
He cloaked himself in the OX's power and charged. Their fists collided, shaking what was left of the Spade Kingdom.
The capital—already in ruins—crumbled even further under the force of their clash.
Neither noticed the figure creeping behind them.
A grin split Morris's face as he picked up the magic pill that had rolled across the ground—and swallowed it whole.
"Hehehe… I'm the Demon King now!"
The mad scientist laughed maniacally. Lucius had reforged him before—but now, with Balance Magic, Devil Power, and Decomposition Magic combined, he'd become something monstrous.
"Perfect. I'll crush Ladin myself!" he screeched.
"This guy again?" Ladin growled, glaring at Morris. "You're just like Adam—filthy and annoying."
He glanced down at the scientist who had eaten his path to godhood. Rage twisted his face.
This bastard had to die.
"Shinra Tensei!"
Ladin unleashed a gravitational pulse, dragging rubble toward Morris.
"Annihilation!"
Morris waved his hand—the debris instantly turned to dust.
"I can't wait to dissect you!" Morris howled, his eyes wild with sadistic glee.
"Then try it," Ladin said coldly. "Let's see what a fake Demon King can do."
"Damn it…"
Adam staggered back to his feet. Half his strength remained, but he was still breathing. Even so, he knew—he couldn't beat Ladin.
Ladin sneered, ignoring him. "I'll deal with you later."
Adam gritted his teeth. "Ladin… I'm going to kill you."
…
The Royal Capital — Clover Kingdom
A sudden surge of magic rippled through the sky.
Adam turned his head, eyes narrowing. "What's that…?"
In the distance, he saw "Julius" soaring toward the Magic Emperor's Palace—accompanied by several winged figures.
"Julius! How did you change back?" Adam shouted, flying toward him.
"My magic power has temporarily returned," Lucius replied calmly, still advancing.
Adam's eyes sharpened. He drew the Human Emperor Sword, ready to strike at any moment.
No hesitation. No mercy.
Then—
"Adam," came a familiar, trembling voice.
Lucius's divine form flickered. In a flash of light, he transformed back into the youthful, kind face of Julius Novachrono.
Tears glimmered in his eyes. "For the Clover Kingdom… kill me."
Adam froze for a heartbeat—but only one.
His sword swung down with everything he had.
Slash!
Julius's figure vanished—Lucius's head was severed clean off.
For a moment, silence.
Then—
Clang.
Lucius, from another timeline, materialized behind Adam, his lightsaber piercing through Adam's heart.
"Pffft!"
Adam coughed blood, falling from the sky.
"Adam!" Mereoleona, Charlotte, Noelle, and Vanessa screamed, rushing toward him.
Above them, Princia and Lemiel gathered their forces, facing Lucius in midair.
Lucius spread his golden wings, his voice echoing across the capital:
"It's time to end this. A new era is coming."
