Chapter 13 - Sheep in Wolf’s clothing (III)

What could be so important now? I was barely alive, Chin-hae passed out cold just now. The both of us were insanely exhausted from having to fight 2 wolf creatures that was possibly an actor.

Just thinking about it makes me sick, I couldn't think of a time when I killed anyone nor have I ever thought about it at all. Come on Gyungho, they were no longer humans, you did them a favor…

"Come on, I can't joke around this time. Please! People are in danger and needs your help."

I looked at the Mary infront of me, since when did she acted like this? It must be very serious if a woman like her is behaving this way. It was nice to see her with a new expression, I guess.

I stood up, trying to balance myself with the deep wounds that were barely healing. My head was ringing like crazy and I felt like passing out, but that isn't too important for now. There were people waiting for my help.

"Please, follow me!"

Mary began running knowing the state I was in. Was this some stupid trick she learned to kill me? I shook my head, trying to catch up with her pace.

"Mary, slow down. You know I'm injured."

Every step I took felt as if I was shredding my body into pieces, the burn injury was definitely going to hurt for a while… And she doesn't look like she'll back down at all.

An injured man and a woman without mercy, what a great duo we make. I looked infront of me, Mary was still walking quickly, what the hell happened for her to be acting like this?

"Urgh!"

I coughed, stopping for a bit. I looked up to see Mary continues getting further and further away, damn it, I had no choice but to use it then I guess.

I opened one of the heal potion and chugged it down. It tasted horrible, the flavor could be described as an old cloth that was used to clean the molded floor. Medicines are always bitter, I guess.

As the last drop of the liquid enters my mouth, I felt a short rush of energy ran through my body. I looked down at the deep wound that was causing all the pain, it was nearly gone now.

I wiped my mouth, dashing towards Mary. I continued following her, this time, I wasn't left behind. I looked over to see the mysterious woman, her face was worried. For once, she actually looked humane.

"What are we dealing with?"

I asked her, it's obvious I'd be curious. After all, you don't just drag someone across a subway station for no reason. I looked around us, there was nobody here, what the hell?

If she wanted to have a chat, she couldn've just told me instead of dragging me all the way here, worried me and most of all, forced me to drink that heal potion. That disgusting crap wasn't cheap…

"Mary, are you still with us?"

I sighed, about to get closer until I heard a loud crash. I dashed back, behind Mary was 2 toy wolves. I gasped, I was barely alive after handling 2, I wasn't even doing it alone. At this point, it was just me playing with fire.

"Are you betraying us now?"

"So the woman is called Mary, I see…"

The figure of what seems to be Mary started to shift around, it's body tearing and rebuilding itself. Blood squirting from areas that were broken. I stood there in shock, what the hell was I looking at?

After a moment of having to hear bone cracking from breaking and rebuilding itself, all the bloody mess and that nightmare, the creature was done. I took a look at the form it took.

"Apologies for scaring you."

It looked like a fine young man, wavy dark brown hair… It looks familiar. The figure turned around, I guess my mind wasn't tricking me after all.

"Riyu Kagami…"

I glared at him, that psychotic smiling face, he's just like Mary. I sighed, how many psychopaths does it take for someone to become one? I shook my head, standing up straight. I wouldn't dare to let my guard down… This teenager's skill was special, he's a shapeshifter.

"Doesn't it hurt when you change forms?"

I let out a chuckle, pulling out my sword from it's sheath. I held tightly onto the grip incase of having to battle. I wasn't in my best state but this would work for now.

"You saw me shapeshift, take a guess."

"Sure won't hurt as much as this."

I took a deep breath, recklessness was what kept me alive until now. Of course I'd be reckless again if it would save my life. I launched towards the kid, is it too cruel to kill a teenager? Would be if it was a normal one.

Cliing!

I looked as the dust layer around me settled, my eyes widened. I know he wasn't going to just get hit by a slash like that but it left me in shock. The kid's hand was a blade, it was blocking my sword… I looked down to see his blood dripping, seems like real metal is stronger than one's created by a shapeshifter.

"Mister, I think you're very interesting. I don't want to cause a fuss here."

"That's quite mature for a troublemaker."

I smirked, sweat forming on my face. I leaped back, if he's the wolf then I might need more than just Chin-hae to fight him. Riyu looked down at his bleeding blade arm, shifting it back to his normal form. Looking at how the toy wolves, they're surely controlled by him…

The young man looked behind him, his movements were swift and elegant. In a blink of an eye, the heads of the wolves were gone, the way he executed the wolves so quickly to the point they didn't even notice… I don't want to inagine myself in their places.

Blood splattered onto him, the hot burning blood that gave me a few burn marks just rolled off his clothes like water droplets.

"Is this enough to prove I mean no harm?"

He turned around, wiping off the boiling blood on his face. I had no choice but to put my sword back in its sheath. Riyu turned around, he started walking, his footsteps creating soft echoes, I started following him.

After a short while, we arrivied at the second metro line, waiting for us was a stopped train. It had a door on it, the same one I saw when Aiko took me away.

"The time dilutes in here, don't worry, we'll get out soon."

I took a deep breath, opening the door. This time, the scenery was different. Could the twin share the same ability? I closed the door behind me, watching it disappear before sittig down at a chair nearby.

"This is my bedroom, you see."

He stopped for a moment before continuing.

"I'm sure you've seen Aiko's space too, our spaces are meant to be to our liking."

He smiled, opening a small cabinet, taking out some treats and fruits. I looked around curiously while he was preparing some things. This isn't too shabby, Aiko's space was much fancier…

"I control those toy wolves you've fought with."

He took a sip of tea, sitting down infront of me. Since when were shady people this straightforward? I looked as he handed me a cup of tea.

"I don't drink tea."

"That's a shame."

The young man left the tea cup there. Riyu, he seemed like the calm twin out of the two… Aiko could definitely be calm too, maybe it was on me that she held her guard up.

So far, the kid hasn't done anything to me yet, but that wasn't enough to let my guard down. I can feel a strong aura coming from him, he might be the stronger twin out of the both of them…

"Let's cut to the chase, shall we? I don't like to lie after all, especially not to you."

He puts down his tea cup. I widened my eyes as a door appeared behind us. When it opened, the familiar I've met before walked out, it was Aiko. Were these 2 going to gang up on me?

"Oi, Riyu, what are you doing?"

The kid turned around towards Aiko, his face smiling slyly. He stood up, walking over to close the door then lead his sister inside.

What are they planning against me now? The young man knew that I've battled with his creation, his little puppets. Shouldn't he know I'm tired?

As they begin their little chat, excluding me from the conversation. I can't help but start diving into my thoughts.

These things are growing onto me, the feeling that I've seen these things before, or atleast, heard about them. Riyu, Aiko and Mary, these names were quite familiar, though I've never met anyone with those type of named until now.

Could the twin be another set of puppets? Who could ever control these 2 wild beasts anyways? As I drowned deeper and deeper into my thoughts, A hand was placed on my shoulder, waking me up.

"Right, hyung?"

"Aah? Huh?"

Damn it, the conversation was involving, yet, I was too busy thinking to myself to pay attention. I took a deep breath, looking at the twins in confusion.

"I told you he wasn't listening."

Aiko let out a an angry sigh as her brother smirks. Since when were they acting this casual towards me, are they up to something again?

I sighed, how do I always run into trouble?
