Chapter 12 - Sheep in Wolf’s clothing (II)

I was sure, one touch from that thing and we'll be definitely sent to the world of dead people. I tugged on Chin-hae's shirt, signaling for him to move slowly and quietly out of the area.

"Gnaaaww...grah! Kaah!"

The creature let out weird cries, it sounded pitiful… If that thing is an actor then I need to find a way and help him, but, to do that, I'll need more information on how it could've happened.

I quietly started sneaking out of the train station with Chin-hae. I'm not sure I can really recall how Ganseok station looks like… It've been a while since I went here. Not like I had the money to anyways.

If I remembered correctly, there should be a metro station close by if we continue walking this way… I'm sure the station is within the border, hopefully at least.

As we got further and further away from the wolf-like creature, I could feel a sense of relief washing over my body. Good things don't last long though, do they?

I looked as another one of the wolf-like creature hopped down onto the train track we were following. I grinded my teeth anxiously, looking behind us. Damn it, seems like the beast caught up to us.

Those fiery wolf creatures were cornering me and Chin-hae. I took a deep breath, looking at the man beside me that was sweating from the wolf's temperature. It was basically a walking fire anyways, of course it's hot.

"You know what to do, right?"

I looked behind me, whispered to Chin-hae. He nodded, giving me a glance before pulling out his bloody dagger he hid in the left pocket.

Seems like the man had learned some things while I was gone. I smiled, good thing I won't have to fight them alone then.

I took out my blade, the sharp metal tip clinking against the rough rocky floor. I held it up, ready for battle. The clear surface reflecting the head of the wolf creature.

"Grrrr…awoooooo!"

Sweats began forming on my forehead, damn these hot bastards… I looked as the wolves let out a battle call.

Are these really wolf creatures im fighting or are they actors I'm going against? I sighed, seems like I have to leave that for later.

I looked at Chin-hae, nodding. It's time for me to put up my own little show. I smirked, focusing my energy on my legs, I took a deep breath before jumping onto the station's floor, leaving Chin-hae and the other wolf on the track.

Thanks to the noise, the other wolf turned around and was now focused on me. I looked behind to see Chin-hae dealing with the other wolf then back at the creature infront of me, blocking my path.

I took out the blade I've been carrying. Time to teach this creature a little lesson to not mess with this herd of sheep.

"How about I play with you, hm? Little puppy."

I smirked as the creature growls and charges at me, I swung my sword. My sword mastery levels weren't high but now I'm living in a game-like world, even if I don't want to, I'm still forced to fight and entertain whoever is watching this sick show.

「All-seeing eye activated!」

Cliink!

I looked as my sword hits the creature's horn, creating sparks in the air. I dashed back, preparing another blow.

「Shoulder」

The creature had started it's attack. It took a big step, charging towards me. I carefully jumped out of the path. There's no way I was going to die to this thing.

As it misses my shoulder, the beast let out an angry growl, turning back to look at me. This time, we both charged at each other. I ran as fast as I could, leaping into the air. I aimed my sword at the top of the creature's head.

Just when I was about to hit it, the other beast Chin-hae was dealing with came at me, pushing me down to the ground.

"Urggh!"

I let out a loud groan. Of course the damned bastard's paws were made of fire. I looked as it's claw dig into the left side of my body, everywhere it touched leaves a burn mark.

"Chin-hae!"

I shouted in pain, taking my sword, I swung it at the wolf-beast thing, trying to get it off me. When that didn't work, I looked over as Chin-hae was weakly getting up from the ground, his face horrified looking as the clothes around me started burning.

"Just hurry up, the burns hurt like hell!"

Chin-hae leaped into the air, he pulled out a gun and shot the bastard that was on me right in the head. I rolled out as the strong grip against my ribs lessened.

"One more to go."

I looked over to Chin-hae, then wiped off my sweat. 2 against 1, the odds of us winning are pretty good. I trust Chin-hae enough for this. He's my companion after all.

Swiish! Cling!

I charged swiftly towards the beast, distracting it for Chin-hae to finish it off. Thanks to the other beast, every step I took was hurting like hell. I have to treat this burn after the fight for sure.

"Y…you're no…t oon…e of.. uussss…."

I'm not one of them? Of course, I'm human, they're strange creatures thag I've never seen before. My blade continued cutting into the wolf. I looked over at Chin-hae who was aiming at the wolf.

"You're…. Diii…ffre..nntt.. y..ou—"

Bang!

As the creature was about to finish it's sentence and tell me what the hell I am, Chin-hae blasted a bullet right through the wolf-beast skull.

I took a deep breath as the smoky smell lessened thanks to the fact the wolfs are gone. Well now thanks to the wolfs, I got a deep wound and an unfinished puzzle, how great.

Chin-hae walked up to me, his clothes soaking in sweat and a bit of blood. He put away his gun and started talking.

"Should we throw them out? They were clearly wolves."

I nodded hesitantly, it's a good idea to get rid of the bodies, but things are never that easy, I'm sure the imposter wouldn't have been that dumb to just run around for us to kill like that.

Plus, I'm sure if those were the real wolves, I'm pretty sure they'd have to be stronger than this. I sighed, atleast we got rid of a problem here…

"Go ahead, do as you wish."

Chin-hae nodded, pulling the wolfs by their horns. I followed him towards the red border that's trapping all of us in this place.

I looked down at the bodies, the flame are dying but not dead… I looked as the one that was talking to me groans.

"Hey, wait!"

It was too late, Chin-hae had already threw the bodies outside of the border. I looked as the wolf started mouthing out words.

"S…saaave… us… youu…re—"

Pow!

And just like that, it left me on a cliffhanger again. I shook my head, it couldn't be something important, could it?

Me and Chin-hae stood there for a solid minute, waiting for a notification to pop up. That notification never came.

"That's strange… hyung, didn't we killed off wolves?"

Chin-hae looked over and questioned me.

"Seems like they were actors. Sheeps in wolf's clothings."

I looked at Chin-hae before turning around and started to walk back into the station. We needed to find that damn wolf and I needed to tend my wounds.

"Fucking toy wolves…"

I let out an angry sigh and continued walking. I glances at Chin-hae who was clearly exhausted. I stood still for a bit, waiting for him to catch up then held onto the man, lensing him support.

We were both injured, tired and close to passing out. As we got inside, the both of us sat down onto a bench close by, catching our breath.

Seems like the situation in here got better, maybe I can take a break for now. I let out a relieved sigh, looking over at Chin-hae who was barely awake.

As we were sitting there in silent, a system notification popped up and broke the silence.

[SYSTEM: congratulations!

Congratulations to the actor 「Lee Chin-hae」 and 「Han Gyungho」 for being the first 2 actors that successfully slayed 2 toy wolves!

You've completed the secret side quest given by the system.

Compensation: 2,000R]

Perfect, I was needing some money anyways, I got things I need to buy. I looked as my balance of 280R increases to 2,280R. I looked over to Chin-hae who was smiling weakly.

「Universal store opened!」

I scrolled through the items, how the hell were there no human medical equipments for tending wounds!?

I guess I'll just have to get these then… I sighed, putting a few items in my shopping cart before buying them.

「Now withdrawing 500R. . .」

As the notification went away, items started to appear in my arm. Chin-hae looked over with shock spread across his face.

"Hyung… since when did you have all of these?"

Chin-hae pointed at the newly bought items. I let out a laugh, looking over at him. Time to test these on him…

I bought some slime mucuses, energy cloths and a few potions incase we need it now or in the future. I moved closer to Chin-hae, ripping off the burned fabric on his arm that was left there by the beast.

"A-aah! Careful, hyung… what are you applying anyways?"

I ignored his question, to be honest, I have no idea how these were qualified to be treatment items… they were just in the heal section so I bought them.

After applying the mucus, I wrapped it with the energy cloth, hopefully I didn't dig Chin-hae his grave by applying these… now it was my turn.

"Chin-hae, can you apply these to my wounds?"

He nodded, grabbing the jar of slime. As he touches it, a gross expression was spread across his face, it was almost funny to see him react to this. The man shook his head and tended my wounds.

As we were resting there, a figure came up to us. She's back at it again. This time, Mary had a worried look on her face. Now that's new…
