Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 One Year Later.

Silva had a fulfilling year studying in the mortal school. Even though Rachel was a year younger than him and never had the same classes, they managed to become friends without any sort of problems. Silva manged to make friends with other students in the school as well, but still there was a small distance between them as he regularly went out to kill the monsters nearby and having friends meant they would realise that he was missing most of the time from school and Silva did not want to depend too much on the mist and rewrite their memories.

He even found a way to escape from PE by creating an extra-curricular activity that can showcase his skills while at the same time allow him to not harm the other students in school like in the first day.

Archery, his greatest skill strengthened even more by the gift he got from Karna who had reached the pinnacle of archery itself and is now trying to combine it with other powerful means of battle.

The teachers in the school were a bit worried about the education they can provide for Silva seeing that he had the intelligence to complete the entire coursework within a few weeks. But they had to give him a regular curriculum due to the insistence by his uncle who wanted his nephew to have a normal school life.

That added with the sob story created by Apollo made it easy for the decision to be made.

So, when Silva contacted the principal for adding archery as an extracurricular activity, he was all in about it and provided enough funds to buy the preliminary items to form an archery club. Rachel seeing Silva creating a club decided to join in as well.

"Well, I don't mind that you are joining the club, but you will have to seriously learn archery and participate in the inter school competitions, the training will be hard, and non-negotiable" Silva replied when she asked to join.

"Hey, I might not look like it, but I participated in a lot of volunteering work since I was nine. Trust me, I'm strong enough to handle any training that you can throw at me" Rachel shot back with a grin as she took out a practice bow to pose with.

Those were her famous last words.

Rachel had been confident as she had looked into archery training before she had made her claims. But she forgot who was going to train her in the art.

Competitive sports in the mortal world are aiming at scoring points on targets that stand still with the archers getting enough time to draw their bow, take aim and fire.

That's not what happens when a demigod is using a bow and arrow. They will probably be running from a monster trying to squash them while trying to hit another monster whose aim is to kill their friend and all of this will be happening while trying their best not to get killed by a stray arrow or an attack that can come from another monster or an ally.

Yeah, demigods have it a bit rough.

It took only five minutes of training for Rachel to realise how much she had underestimated the training. But after a few days, she started to give her all to show that she does not give up on something she sets her sights on. Plus, Silva realised another ability the seer's of the mist have.

They have really good eyes, almost like it was made for targeting. Sometimes Silva wondered what would happen if Rachel trained while using guns or another easier long-range weapon. But for now, he decided to help her in archery, something he clearly knows like the back of his hand.

It didn't take long for her to reach a respectable level which was way higher than the standards set by mortal Olympian athletes.

Seeing Silva starting a club, there were people who were interested in joining, but the warmup they had to do in the first day made every single one of them quit. So, the club ended up with only the two of them holding the fort.

The teachers decided to let them keep the club as long as they win the interschool archery competitions. Silva agreed and put his club and school's name in every competition that came up.

And then came the massacre.

Silva's training had improved Rachel's skills to a whole other level compared to normal archers and they massacred every single competition they participated in. They even won interstate and easily manged to reach the nationals without even a single competitor coming close to their skill level.

Rachel used this opportunity and fame in the archery competitions to support wildlife protection campaigns. Even though Silva never looked too much into it, he knew she quarrelled with her dad a lot since her dad makes money by cleaning wildlife areas for urban projects. And her support to these protection campaigns had actually harmed her dad's business.

Rachel ran to Silva's house every time to escape when she had a fight with her father. Silva did not mind it at all as he was alone all the time and Rachel always did something fun to distract herself from the fight she had with her father.

"Hey, the other room is still filled with your art works you made last time, when are you taking it home?" Silva asked while playing Mario years before it was supposed to be made. The future tech had also included a lot of games which Silva was glad to have.

"You aren't using that room, so I'm taking it" Rachel calmly replied while doing her homework. But then she looked up having an expression of being a bit annoyed. "Why the hell are you not given any homework while I'm getting so much. How come the teachers gave you a free pass for it?"

"The next time you answer the difficult questions the teachers ask and get full grades, you will get exempted from homework too" Silva replied without looking up from the screen though some people will notice a small smile on his face as he heard Rachel sigh in exasperation.

"Life's not fair" Rachel muttered as she continued doing the homework.

A/N- hope you like it.
