For the next two days, every camper rested from the continuous fights they faced in the last few weeks while Silva stood as a guard for the entire camp. With his ability to absorb energy from plants, combined with the dense flora all around the camp, he was able to act as a constant perpetual motion machine aimed at killing every single monster.
Unlike when he had run out of power within the city of San Francisco, Long Island was filled with abundant forests that kept supplying him with more energy than even he could use up.
So, while using the Hundred Zakura Art along with the Explosion Arrow, Silva continuously killed monsters until they stopped attacking altogether. Some monsters did try to use other methods like digging through the ground, flying, and swimming through many rivers nearby. But Silva's monitoring managed to find every single one of them without fail.
Booomm!!
The distant sounds of explosions had alarmed the now refreshed campers at first, but now they had become used to it.
"That's the forty-fifth explosion today. How many monsters do you think he has killed by now?" Mark from the Ares cabin asked.
"If my guess is right, it might have already crossed a hundred by now," Ron from the Athena cabin commented from the side.
"What the hell have we been doing the last few days?" Mark asked in anguish, as his combined kills in the last few weeks did not even come close to how much Silva had killed today. And that was when he had fought on the front lines with the other Ares cabin members.
"You are still one of the youngest Ares cabin members, kid. You killed less because the members of your cabin made sure that only a few monsters reached where you were," Ron, the older among the two by three years, decided to console him. "Within a year or two, you will also grow strong enough to hunt monsters easily."
"As strong as Silva?" the kid asked, but in return Ron just rubbed his head, as he knew the answer to that wouldn't be pleasant.
At the same time, Silva was looking out of the Big House window after successfully killing a monster horde that was coming near the southern border of the camp.
Tantalus, at the time, was shaking in anger at the blatant way Silva had ignored the meeting.
"How dare you look away while having this discussion, camper Silva? I am in charge of this camp by the orders of Zeus himself, and how dare you command the campers like you are the leader?!!" Tantalus shouted with a reddened face at being blatantly ignored.
Silva sighed deeply on the inside. He turned to Dionysus, who was passed out on the side in the same room. He had gone to a meeting in Olympus and had used that chance to drink as many drinks as he could.
According to him, his ban on alcohol only happened when he was within the camp borders. And after drinking a few barrels, he promptly chased after the same nymph that got him the century-old imprisonment in the camp in the first place.
Zeus was not at all happy about it, so he took away his godhood temporarily. Thankfully it was only for a few days, but with the amount of alcohol he consumed, Dionysus was going to be out for some time, and he was going to suffer a hell of a headache later on when he woke up.
And the reason Tantalus was so angry was because, after Silva had returned to camp and taken care of the monsters, the campers who got their rest began to complain about how Tantalus had not raised a finger when the monsters had appeared to attack the camp.
So he decided to take it out on Silva by starting this meeting, and since Dionysus was out for the count, Tantalus actually had the most authority in the camp itself, so he was trying to establish his authority by calling this meeting to undermine Silva's influence on the entire camp.
And right now, he was screaming at Silva for ignoring the meeting to kill monsters that were threatening the camp.
Silva waited for two minutes and realized that he had not stopped shouting even now. And seeing how unproductive this was becoming; he decided to take the initiative into his own hands.
He took out his bow and notched an arrow at Tantalus.
Tantalus froze. He had not expected to have an arrow pointed at him in the middle of the meeting, and he did not think it was a bluff. He knew more than anyone how unpredictable people could be.
After all, the idiot had actually decided to do a practical joke on the gods by making them eat his own brother's body.
"Now, now… let's not be hasty. I'm already dead, and we have no idea what would happen if you shot me right now. Plus Zeus was the one who put me in charge… imagine how angry he will be?" he said while carefully retreating.
"Exactly, Tantalus. Zeus had demoted Chiron, who had earned the trust of demigods for centuries, just because of a single mistake. Imagine what would happen if your incompetence would lead to the death of multiple demigods," Silva said as he released the arrow.
"Aaahh!" Tantalus screamed and covered his face with his hands. After a few seconds, he realized that he had not been shot, and when he opened them, he realized that the arrow had struck the wall near his head.
Silva came and stood directly in front of him.
"They didn't choose you because you are special, Tantalus, and remember that you can be replaced at any time. So do your job well," Silva warned and exited the room, hoping that the prehistoric idiot got the idea instead of continuing to act like an idiot.
Just as he was walking across the camp, he sensed the trees finding what he had suspected due to the canon timeline.
Selena Beauregard was holding a bracelet with a scythe charm near the forest.
