Chapter 22 - “Real World: Active Ruin Zone (8)”

The moment the card entered Leinster's body, he suddenly felt a strange warmth spreading from his chest to every part of his body.

The bipedal body that felt heavy and weak before, suddenly became a tad bit stronger!

Is that card thingy a body-nourishing treasure or something?

It was then, a system interface that Leinster had never seen before, dyed in deep purple, came into view.

DING! [Detecting a third-level monster's carcass...]

[Power unsealing process: 1%]

...what?

Leinster almost doubted his vision.

Power unsealing process? There's an unknown power sealed inside him?

If Leinster was an earthling, he would have immediately put on a villainous pose with a palm covering his eyes, shouting,

"Behold! My sealed power— "

Poor Leinster, the alien was more confused than anything but he did recall something that might have something to do with this "sealed power"—

The title "Father of Monster" that the viewers mentioned when he was about to die.

Is that why the monster suddenly turned into a card and absorbed into his body?

But why only the third-level monster and not the other weaker monsters?

Ughhh, if only he had the memory of this bipedal body, everything would be much easier—

"A-ahhhh! Helpppp!"

A scream cut off Leinster's train of thoughts, waking him up from his stupor.

The young man quickly turned his head towards the source of the scream and saw that another survivor was "kidnapped" into the walking metallic box, reduced to mere meat paste, blood and bone scraps.

Seeing this scene, the "one-eyed man" with a scythe suddenly swung his silver scythe.

Swish!

The curved blade gleamed under the white light and in the blink of an eye, it quietly rested on a certain someone's...neck.

Leinster, the "someone" whose neck was suddenly "kissed" by a cold blade, blinked his eyes innocently at the man in front of him.

"Um, grim reaper, what are you doing?"

He had never provoked this grim reaper monster before, right?

So how did this bipedal monster suddenly attack him??

The man who was mistaken as a grim reaper monster pressed the curved blade further onto Leinster's neck, the part that wasn't blocked by the neck restraint.

"You. Open the safe zone." The man ordered in a cold voice devoid of any emotion.

A streak of blood slowly appeared on Leinster's neck but the young man just gently wiped the blood with his thumb, his lips slowly forming a mocking smile.

"And why should I?"

Who cares if these bipedals die? They didn't even pay the rent.

Seeing Leinster's calm face without even a hint of fear, the man frowned and the blade slowly flashed with a purple-ish gleam.

The next second, the man flicked the long handle of the scythe and Leinster felt something sharp hooking the back of his collar.

Then...

The world spun around.

...huh?

With a "swoosh", Leinster's body flew above the survivors' heads, drawing an arc in the air.

Bang!

"Ouch!!"

Leinster landed at the rear of the group, right on his rear too.

How come this scene felt familiar?

Leinster rubbed his aching buttock and was about to curse the rude grim reaper when a strike of red suddenly shot out at the corner of his vision, aiming at his ankle.

"Damn!"

Leinster subconsciously rolled on the ground and the strike of red missed the target by just an inch.

From this distance, Leinster could see the true figure of the red thing—

It was a wool carpet in the shape of a...

Tongue.

The light above Leinster's head slowly darkened and a towering thing loomed above his head.

Gulp.

Leinster swallowed as he slowly looked up....

Huge.

It was huge.

From this angle, the thing gleaming with a silver light seemed to swallow the whole world, even the intangible light.

Its body squeezed into the narrow corridor and it even squeezed the ceiling, looking as if it was about to dent anytime.

As the thing moved bit by bit, an intangible pressure slowly enveloped Leinster's whole body.

Creak. Creak.

The metal door that was only open by a slit slowly slid to both sides, wide open.

The stench of meat, blood and indescribable things sharply assaulted Leinster's nose and the young man subconsciously held his breath, his heart thumping so hard that it almost leapt out of his chest.

Damn. Damn. Damn.

T-this monster...is different.

Is this why that bastard suddenly tosses him away?

To use him as a bait?!

Leinster didn't know since when, but the metal box was already close to him, just a few steps away.

The tongue-shaped crimson red carpet that failed to capture the target wriggled, slithering and sniffing the air, searching for the escaped prey.

The livestream audiences fell into an eerie silence for a split second before the comment section exploded.

[Sealed Demon King:

Damn!! Why is there a level four monster in the preliminary round?? Ó╭╮Ò ]
