Ren took notice of the resemblance this Renu had to his fictional Renu, with her shoulder-length, jet-black hair and a blue ribbon bow tie on top, her noticeable yellow eyes, and her determination to go to work.
It didn't help that he got her name from his and just added 'U' at the end; it was a period of him randomly dishing out a name.
It couldn't be; maybe it was a coincidence. He shouldn't freak out yet; he had to focus on ensuring Pope deleted that stupid game by the end of today.
"Hi." Renu greeted him, extending her hand, and he shook it.
"Welcome to Big Daddy." He joked with a warm smile, and she returned it with a smile of her own. But her eyes sparkled at him.
He let go of her hand, and he could have sworn that he felt a bit of resistance to that. He had already ticked off imaginary boxes in his head, assuming he was in a familiar situation. Instead of being in prison with him in a higher position, he was on the same footing as her.
Pope stood up and toured her around the studio, where everyone greeted her. Renu remained in Pope's office with her cat.
The cat climbed down from the table and navigated every part of the office. Ren watched it in amusement, with his mind calculating on how to get rid of Renu, possibly.
About an hour passed with Pope not yet back, and he pulled out his phone as something came to mind. If this were Renu, then what about the other exes?
At first, he searched for Renu, but found nothing; then he tried searching for each of the exes in the game to see if they were in the real world. He made several attempts with no luck until he finally succeeded with one name- Bree.
According to the news article, about two nights ago, Bree was found in her sugar daddy's mansion dead, suspected of suicide.
Ren wondered if it was a coincidence or if Renu actually did it. He hated not being able to find a quick way to find out; he just had to wait.
Pope entered the office, and her cat jumped onto the table.
Ren stood up, with the most shameless pleading he could think of. For the next four hours, there was a back-and-forth that eventually led to Pope finally choosing to delete the game as a whole, saying she would start again.
He thanked her constantly during the whole deleting, showering her with so much praise that she actually physically gagged and demanded he stop, after which he apologized.
After all that, he forgot about Renu and just wanted to take time to be alone.
He left the office and went to get a cup of coffee. He walked to the common resting area with a smile on his face.
He sat on a couch, taking this time to at least relax before he flings himself into another situation again. People around gradually left, until it was just him as he watched some videos online.
He sensed something behind him, his nose picking up a familiar fragrance. He turned his head to find that it was Renu.
She put one arm around his neck as she sat beside him. He didn't like this, but had to watch what she wanted.
Her hold on his neck tightened; he felt pressure building up on his neck as she warmly smiled at him.
This was definitely Renu from EVERYONE HATES CANDLE. Oh, he was so wonderfully screwed.
"Hi, honey, why did you act like you didn't recognize me?" She asks in a calm tone while he struggles to breathe correctly. She was calling him 'honey' now; that's just worse now. He couldn't overreact; what had happened had already happened. He accepted that this was another situation that seemed to be in a weird relationship with this woman, and that he had to find a way out of it instantly.
"Honey? We are not dating, but if you want to, then who am I to reject you?" He said, his face turning red from lack of oxygen as he still held on to his cup of coffee.
The pressure lessened, and he took quick, deep breaths as she planned to take his coffee.
He held it tight to prevent her from doing so.
She was obviously somehow stronger than he, but she wasn't going to take his coffee easily. He didn't want to drink it, but instead he wanted to prove a point.
She giggled as she saw him trying to prevent her from getting the cup.
"You don't remember anything that happened in the tunnel?" She asked, and his body froze. The tunnel, she knew about the tunnel. She was there, what happened there?.
"Please give me your coffee, I will owe you one." He let his hand go and let her take the coffee, as the shock of the tunnel news was still hitting him.
She gulped the coffee before passing it to him. He accepted it and took a sip.
"You wanted to delete all your games, your stuff coming to life." She said that, and it was spot on. How did she know that?
"I don't know what you are talking about." He wanted to see her reaction.
She yanked his neck, and he tried to grab her arms, but she shoved him to the wall.
His coffee cup fell, wasting a good coffee
He frowned at her; she obviously knew that he knew that she knew.
She looked confused at his reaction. "You don't remember anything that happened in the tunnel?"
He shook his head with a frown, and she let him go.
"You know more than me." He said, she adjusted his collar.
"I don't like it when I am the only one taking this relationship seriously." She said.
He didn't know what to say; what happened in that tunnel was his question.
"If you want to remember what happened in the tunnel, then you have come to my house for once and have dinner with me. It's the least you could do." She said.
"We are not in a relationship as far as I know, and don't try to gaslight me." He said, hating the whole attempt to guilt-trip him. He created this character to make players dislike her; he never developed a love for this type of crazy, obsessed characters that he noticed people liked, because he couldn't understand why they were liked..
He couldn't really stand her now that she was in front of him, but he needed to know what had happened in that tunnel.
She stood up. "Oh, and don't worry about those other girls."
She was referring to the exes looking for revenge.
He asked an easy-to-answer question. "You killed them all."
She nodded with a proud smile. "Only for you."
She walked away as he finally understood the type of person he had with him. He would most likely kill her after he got information from her.
