"After obtaining some meager strength, mortals truly think they are worth much…" a sultry female voice filled with emotion resounded in the air.
The bone spear froze midair, pausing for a brief instant before crumbling into dust and drifting into the wind…
At the same time, the silhouette of a woman materialized in the air.
Her hair was a cascade of dark blue, flowing freely like a river, and her luminescent blue eyes radiated a warm, motherly aura.
However, her expression betrayed her exasperation as she stared at the duo in the skies.
The old man and the netherworld empress felt a devastating pressure clash onto them from the startling intensity of the deep ocean, luminescent eyes.
It was as though their souls were being searched.
The lady lightly outstretched her hand and pointed at the netherworld empress.
Immediately, a burst of red light momentarily erupted from her hand, quickly rushing in her direction.
Time was frozen and the netherworld empress was unable to move.
In an instant, the red light reached her and pierced through her head.
All she felt was a stinging pain, before her consciousness slipped out of her body, a fountain of blood spraying from the red mark in her head.
After dealing with the netherworld empress, a rumble resounded.
All the skeleton corpses, bones, and ghouls burst apart into ashes, drifting through the wind and piling up in the courtyard.
Arthur let out a sigh, relieved to finally be able to catch his breath.
He raised his gaze to peer through the clouds and study the figure; however, his sight was blurry and even faintly distorted, and he couldn't fully glimpse whoever the beautiful lady in the sky was.
The lady glanced at the old man, then rubbed her nose, hesitating on what to do next.
After some silence, she finally muttered, "go, you should still be able to last for some time,"
Although her voice was low, the old man still heard everything.
He felt the stiffness around his limbs loosening slightly.
Regaining his mobility, he glanced at the lady, then bowed and departed the pendragon household.
His life was nearing its end, and he knew that this was his only chance to seek a chance of survival.
After dealing with the two, the lady floated gently before landing in front of arthur.
The moment his eyes met her ocean blue eyes, Arthur's eyes widened in surprise.
His emotions were hard to suppress as he rushed up to the woman, hugging her tightly.
"Mom, i thought father said you were sent to get treated in the church?"
Since Arthur was young, he always had the image of his mother being sickly and pale, constantly letting out strained coughs.
Because of her worsening condition, she was ultimately sent to the church, a place filled with mostly those who awakened priest classes, and other supporting roles related to healing.
Seeing her in such a state truly surprised him, and to think she was far stronger than even the old man and the netherworld empress…
Some time passed as Arthur remained in her embrace while she kept silent.
When he finally separated from her, he noticed the faint smile that touched her lips as she finally replied.
"I was sick before, but that is because your father took advantage of my vulnerable state to, well… conceive you."
'What?' Arthur's heart shook, his frame trembled subconsciously, taking an involuntary step back.
"Father… you…" Arthur felt as though the words he was hearing were hard to comprehend.
"Don't worry about it, he had… received his retribution."
Arthur felt unsettled at her words and didn't know how to feel.
A complex wave of emotions surged through him; it was a mix of anger, disappointment, sadness, relief?
There were many more he couldn't completely understand.
Taking a deep breath, he replied, "so, what next mom?"
She glanced down at her hands and Arthur followed her gaze.
He noticed her hands were flickering as though they might fade and disappear at any time.
"Mother? What's happening?" Arthur panicked immediately, trying to grasp his mother's hand only for his hand to slip through it.
His mother glanced down at her hand then smiled faintly,
"To tell you the truth, I am not someone of this realm.
"After being involved in this terrifying battle, I was forcefully thrust into this realm, my divine abilities completely eroding and leaving me defenseless. Your father took advantage of me during that time, making me conceive you."
"However, some time later, I finally regained my divine abilities, and returned back to my realm. This is merely a clone of mine I left to watch over you, my son…"
Her hand reached out gently to touch his face warmly…
Arthur felt her hand pass through him; however, he could still sense the warm intent behind her gesture.
"Train, Arthur." Suddenly, her figure flickering ghastly, his mother said solemnly, "grow stronger quickly then come to my world, there are a lot of interesting things there."
"During your growth, find a woman or two to accompany you. Despite your, well, bald head, you are pretty handsome and possess your own charm… hopefully you can give me some grandchildren—"
Her words trailed off as she finally vanished, leaving Arthur's hand hanging mid-air.
A sigh escaped his lips as he glanced at the location she vanished in.
He touched his bald head and lamented internally, 'finding a loving and caring lady with such looks will be truly difficult.'
However, since someone as beautiful as his mother was rooting for him, who was he to disappoint her?
He clenched his fist tightly, "Mother! Please be patient, I will get stronger quickly!"
He glanced at Titan who stood silently staring at him as though it could sense the brimming confidence he was exuding.
Finally, he noticed the surrounding space and all the damage that had been caused.
'More than 90 percent of the members of the Pendragon family are dead…'
Arthur was basically the king of nothing now.
He knitted his brows together; however, since his mana reserves were running dangerously low, there was nothing he could do about it.
He raised his gaze towards a particular distance.
Gathered there were a few elders, one with his hand severed, while another elder had a pale expression as he clutched a stick struggling to stand up.
Arthur nodded at them before commanding, "Gather the wounded and those still alive then head to the meeting room, there we will decide on what to do next."
