The experience gained from killing one of this superior monsters were truly mouth opening. 262 hundred thousand were not just massive, it mouth hanging and head exploding number and seeing he just gained it from killing one superior monster was even more impressive.

So impressive that what he gained from this guy were more than what he gained from killing large numbers of monsters all by his own.

Now he was meet with a dilemma, should he select his profession already from the common option given by the system, or wait until he could gain a high grade profession that would give him a lot of benefits and boost.

This was really a problem, even do the benefits he could gain from the profession is nothing compared to what he could gain from his ability, it's still important for his career, status, and future limits.

After a while he brush off these unnecessary thoughts, he remembered that he still have two more superior monsters waiting for him to finish them off, so he put this thing at the back of his mind.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

With small steady step, he appeared infront of the ball of black diamond spherical bone. He could feel the fear and confusion from the monster inside, seeing things go wrong from their desired direction. Now it could feel the real monster was closing at him again.

Michael stared for it for a moment before he rise his hand, that sprout a long dense looking bone that slowly shape itself into a long sword.

"Blighted Cleave!" He muttered this words, and he could somehow see the spherical orb of black diamond trembled like it felt cold. Then, a blackish energy glowed from within his bone weapon, aired with the crimson energy that came from his battle armour amplification effects, having the aura of death and power of destruction, capable of corroding even the hardest metal.

Shoosh~

Then the bone sword slowly pierce through the spherical ball, the area his sword met was seemingly melted into a rotten steel, easy to break apart with the slightest pressure.

Moments later his bone sword pierce through the deepest part, and with another powerful push he fully pierced this spherical ball, killing whoever was hiding inside.

[You gained: Agility 1.8, Intelligence 1.8, Willpower 1.4, Active Skill—Intangible Veil(Rare)]

[Intangible Veil] (Rare)

Type: Active / Defensive–Support

Cost: 10 mana

Description: A mystical veil of spiraling green energy manifests around the user, shifting fluidly between tangible and intangible states. When active, the veil distorts matter and energy on contact, allowing it to deflect or absorb incoming attacks—both physical and magical.

The barrier's spiraling motion creates a reactive field that weakens projectiles, slows melee impacts, and can even phase the user's body momentarily to evade lethal strikes. At higher proficiency, the veil can expand outward, shielding nearby allies or disrupting enemy abilities through spatial interference. Its energy draws from the user's mana and mental focus, requiring precise control to maintain balance between offense and defense.

After reading briefly, he stated back at the group of human that were looking at him with awe all this time.

The spore cloud had long dispersed from the area, after the plague walker died and what happened then was shown for the all.

The horde dispersed and now were running for their life's while the crowd of human stays, clapping and cheering for their savior that appeared out of nowhere.

"We've survived! hahahaha!"

"All hail the savior! All hail the uhm... crimson hero!"

"Thank you, for saving our asses!"

"Can I have your baby please, I want my child to be as strong as you!"

"..."

The surviving human cannot help but chattered around like it was just another normal day, while guessing their savior real identity. And one among them suddenly walk towards Micheal, who were standing there with mind occupied.

...

Michael stand in the empty reddish earth, alone and mysterious. He just stared at the horde running away from him, cresting rising dust at their wake, dispersing through the apocalypse land, not having the energy nor the mood to chase.

He stared at his smooth hands, his crimson battle armour is unactivated. This smooth golden–brown skin where hiding powerful strength that already claimed many life.

Everything now feels like a dream, surreal and dreamlike. From a boy struggling to meet ends meet now were strong enough to scare off powerful monsters, running for their lives.

While he contemplate about his existence and how much he improved, someone suddenly come to talk to him. It was Erick!

Right now he was back at his original form, still much muscular than normal human but not as bulky like he was before, like a hulk.

"Hello there! I would like to say thank you for saving us, on behalf of the people you just saved, including mine"

Erick sincerely thanked Micheal, as he bowed his head ever so slightly before he stared back at Michael with mix emotion and added.

"I'll be frank with you uhm...sir. Would you mind joining our survivor group? To increase our chance of survival?"

This Erick were quite thick–skinned, asking the strongest amongst them to join their group where he may or not gain anything.

"..."

Michael stared at Erick for a long time, thinking deeply about something in his mind, making Erick standing there felt unease,.

Being with this powerful individual, in which was more powerful than him makes him felt uncomfortable, especially when it was him that wants something from him, which was the first time.

It was already rare if there's a powerful Aspirant that in the first trial, and those who could contend with him were even rarer.

Having a background from one of the most prestigious clan of Ascender in the world, he was not just your average Joe here and there.

After being silent for a long time, Micheal finally replied to his invitation.
