"Mothra is on her way?"

"Could it be... she's coming to join this battle?" Dr. Ishiro Serizawa frowned at the news.

Deep in the rainforests of Xishuangbanna, an ancient temple built by long-forgotten hands enshrined Mothra's egg. Monarch had established Outpost 61 at that same location. The temple murals described this Titan as a being of divine nature, one who had sheltered the ancient humans who worshipped her , and who had slept in a cocoon ever since, waiting.

The first time Dr. Emma Russell was kidnapped by eco-terrorists, it had happened inside Mothra's outpost.

After her awakening, Mothra hadn't done what the other Titans did. No destroyed cities. No rampaging through coastlines. She had simply retreated behind a waterfall and gone back to sleep, as if the world's chaos was beneath her concern.

Now she was flying straight for the South Pole. She must have felt King Ghidorah's presence.

"But... can she even make it in time?" Serizawa moved to a nearby terminal, studying the radar image tracking Mothra's signature.

Flying from China to the South Pole was no short trip. By the time she arrived, this battle would likely already be over.

"Dr. Serizawa! Mothra's gone!" A technician's voice cut across the room. On the radar, her marker had simply vanished. "She entered the ocean and we lost her completely!"

A gray-haired doctor stepped forward and offered the explanation quietly. "The Hollow Earth theory is real."

"Mothra must have entered an underwater passage. She's traveling through the Hollow Earth and will exit through a tunnel connected to the South Pole."

Decades of research had earned Monarch this much. In recent years they had confirmed the existence of a vast subterranean space beneath the Earth's surface. Godzilla's speed in open water was impressive, but it had limits , the only way to explain how it consistently arrived at battlefields on time was through the Hollow Earth's passages, cutting across distances that would otherwise be impossible. Monarch even had records of living people who had entered that space. Strange. Dangerous. Enormous beyond reckoning.

"The Hollow Earth..." Serizawa's right eyelid twitched the moment he heard it. He knew what that feeling meant. "There may be enemies down there too."

He pushed the thought aside. "But right now, King Ghidorah is the priority." He turned to Jared and Old De. "The fighter jets are prepped. Ready to deploy on your word."

"Sure you don't want any additional support?" he asked.

These two had already turned down every pilot Monarch offered. Each of them was taking a jet in alone.

"We're fine. Our combat style would only get in the way of theirs."

"Let's move."

Jared said nothing else. He and Old De walked into the hangar.

The bay was wide and well-stocked , Monarch's emergency fleet, transport planes and F-35s lined up in rows. The two men climbed into their jets with the ease of men who had done it a thousand times. Missiles loaded. Fuel full.

The bay doors opened.

Two F-35s dropped into the storm.

Below them, at the two o'clock position, three massive shapes tore into each other across the ice. Glaciers had been melted or shattered across a front that had already pushed two kilometers back from where the fight started. The Giant and Godzilla weren't moving in perfect sync, but raw power had given them a temporary edge.

"God, it's massive." Jared's voice was flat. "This damn thing."

He pushed the nose down and dove toward King Ghidorah, locking onto one of its heads, finger moving toward the trigger.

The jets screamed through wind and snow, closing fast. Even from this distance, Jared could already make out the skin texture on King Ghidorah's golden-brown skull , every scale, every ridge.

Then Godzilla took a hit. King Ghidorah drove it back, sent it crashing into the side of an iceberg. The impact shook the entire formation of ice, and the whole mass shuddered and collapsed.

All three of King Ghidorah's heads swung toward the Giant. At eighty meters, the Giant was dwarfed by the creature bearing down on it. King Ghidorah intended to use every inch of that size advantage.

"ROAR!!"

Three sets of jaws opened wide, scorching breath pouring out, descending on the Giant.

Both jets screamed over King Ghidorah's heads and released a full volley. WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH. Missiles hammered into its body. Explosions bloomed across its scales.

No real damage. But each of King Ghidorah's heads ran on its own independent consciousness , and one of them turned. Just one. Drawn by the jets pulling away.

That was enough.

The Giant dropped the defensive stance entirely. Energy flooded into both palms and compressed into two blazing rings of light, one in each hand, raised to meet the descending jaws.

CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH — "ROAR!!"

The rings bit into King Ghidorah's teeth. Sparks cascaded in sheets. The light sawed through flesh and blood sprayed free. Both heads recoiled, consciousness swallowed by pain.

The Giant pressed forward.

The third head was already charging a gravity beam aimed at the jets. The Giant's legs drove down hard, the ice beneath him exploding outward, and he was in front of that third head before the beam could fire.

The gravity beam was already building in its throat. The two rings arrived faster. Left and right, they struck the neck simultaneously.

CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH!

The energy tearing through those rings ripped into King Ghidorah's scales without slowing. The other two heads snapped back to awareness and began charging their own beams to push him off.

"ROAR!!" Too late. Under the double strike, King Ghidorah's third head — along with half its neck — was severed. It happened between one blink and the next.

Whatever these rings were made of, King Ghidorah had no framework for it. They had cut through its skin like it wasn't there. For the first time, it understood that this opponent was a genuine problem.

"ROAR!!" The severed head hit the ice. The charged gravity beams fired anyway.

The bracelet on the Giant's wrist flashed. A shield materialized in his grip and caught every beam, absorbing the full discharge.

Then, from the side:

HISS , "ROAR!!"

Godzilla was back on its feet. An Atomic Breath blast came in from the flank, struck King Ghidorah square in the side, and drove it backward, cutting off the gravity beam output entirely.

At the same moment, the shield pulsed with golden light. It fired the absorbed energy straight back, compounding the force, toppling King Ghidorah completely. It crashed down and took an iceberg with it.

Before it could rise, the Giant was already airborne.

He came down like a meteor.

The shield drove into one of King Ghidorah's heads with everything behind it.

BOOM!!

The ice caved. The impact threw snow into the sky in every direction.
