''So, are you ready?'' Said the man in a hoodie, this time wearing a backpack
''I don't know'' Alek replied
''That's too bad, Let's go'' Alek's master replied calmly
The man in a white hoodie checked if noone was looking.
''All clear, as per usual.'' He stepped on the teleportation spot ''Password: Adventurer's Stop.''
They were teleported to Adventurer's stop to Alek's shock.
''You didn't tell me we were going here again.'' He shouted
''This is the easiest way to get to the place we need. Besides I wanted to show you something.'' Alek's master replied
While they were walking Alek asked his master:
''Will we meet the police officer?''
''He isn't on patrol today, at this time.'' He replied
''I see''
Before Alek knew it he was standing in front of a massive board.
''This is where people submit request'' The man in the hoodie began to explain ''You write what you want people to get you and a reward for the job.''
''Is this what we'll be doing? Will we be getting something for someone?'' Alek asked
''Not exactly'' The man in a hoodie took a piece of paper from the board ''We'll be doing this.''
He handed the piece of paper to Alek. Alek read the description. It said ''retrieve the life stone''. He looked at the reward:
''20 MILLION DOLLARS?'' He shouted
''SHHH, don't shout.'' His master responded ''It's probably a fake amount. They could just steal it from the person who would get it for them. But I also can't say that the stone isn't worth this much.''
''Wow...'' Alek said while looking intensely at the request
Meanwhile, the man in a hoodie looked at the rest of the request.
''Looks like about 30 requests for the stone this time...'' He said under his breath ''Let's go, you can look at the paper all you want on our way'' He said to Alek
''Yes master!'' Alek replied with enthusiasm
They headed for the teleportation spots. When they arrived Alek noticed they were different from before.
''Why are they different than last time?'' He asked his master
''We are in a different part of Adventurer's stop. You didn't notice?'' Alek's master asked
''I guess I didn't. I didn't have that much time to look around last time. Is this the east, west, north or south part?'' Alek asked
''This is the south part. How did you know it was split like that?''
''I looked at the map that the police officer gave me when I got home that day.''
''I see'' The man in the hoodie replied ''Anyway, Let's go now.''
They went over to the teleportation spot labeled ''living planet'' and waited for 10 seconds. Alek began to feel a little nervous. After the 10 seconds passed, Alek's master said the words:
''Teleport''
And they were suddenly standing in a green field.
The man in a white hoodie took out a watch while alek was looking around.
''We have about 3 hours. First, we need to walk about an hour in this direction. I will explain everything on our way.''
Alek and his master began to walk
''This place looks like earth.'' Alek noticed
''Yes, it's very similar, but there is one big difference. There is barely any life on this planet.'' Alek's master pointed out ''The most you will usually find is small plants.''
Alek looked at his master and began to listen closely
''But even though the planet is nearly devoid of life, it found a way to create it from what it already had. You see, on the top of highest mountain stands a lone tree that grows a stone from it. When that stone grows fully, it drops from the mountain and when broken, creates new life. This stone is our mission's target.''
''I understand, Master. So we will be getting the stone from the tree, right?'' Alek asked with a smile
''No, we will make sure it drops to the bottom.''
Alek was a bit confused
''Will we still get the reward?'' he asked
''No'' Alek's master answered quickly
''So why are we letting it drop!?'' Alek asked in shock
''It's our responsibility, we have to make sure it doesn't get into the wrong hands. I think you can understand what power an item like that can hold.''
''I guess you are right, Master.''
Alek was disappointed, but thought for a moment and then asked:
''Won't there be other people who will try to get the stone? What will we do about them?''
''We will fight them.'' He said in a serious tone ''If they decide to get in our way, of course.''
Alek began to feel nervous. After a long walk, they found themselves at the foot of the mountain. The man in a hoodie opened his backpack and took out a rope.
''Tie this around yourself.'' He told Alek ''This will make sure you won't get lost or fall off a cliff.''
''Yes, Master'' Alek responded before tying the rope around himself. His master also made sure the rope was tight enough not to come loose.
''Good, now all we have to do is go up the mountain and wait for the stone to drop. We will have to watch out for other adventurers though.''
As soon as Alek's master finished his sentence, a man jumped out and stood in front of Alek and his master.
He had two big scars on his face and was holding a knife.
''Go back home or I will slice the kids throat'' He said in a crazy voice.
''Go fight him Alek.'' Alek's master said
''Are you sure? I don't think I can take him.'' Alek said very unsurely, while shaking a bit from fear
''Don't worry, I will step in if something goes wrong.'' His master assured him
''Alright, Master'' Alek said while taking up a battle stance
''This is your last chance to leave or I will kill this child.'' Said the man holding a knife
Alek didn't move, so the man sighted and tried to stab him. Alek kept on barely dodging the scarred mans attacks. After a few minutes he realized something.
''This guys attacks are slow. I can see them clearly'' He thought to himself ''It's nothing like my master.''
Alek finally got the courage to strike back and punched the man in his chest. The man flinched, but then got back into the fight. Alek kept dodging and countering the scarred mans attacks and wasn't even grazed by his knife. After a minute the man gave up and fell to the ground. Alek looked at his master.
''I did it.'' He said
''Good job. There will be more people up ahead so don't let your guard down. Let's go further''
''Yes, master!'' Alek said enthusiastically
''It's not over yet!'' The scarred man said while getting up ''DIE!!'' He shouted while running at Alek's master
The man in a white hoodie didn't even move. The scarred man thrusted the knife as hard as he could into his chest, but It had no effect.
*POW
The man in a hoodie knocked out the scarred man in a single punch and calmly said:
''Let's go.''
Alek nodded his head and they continued their way up the mountain.
