Chapter 2 - 1x2: Hero to zero

Remy grabbed the cookies from the shelf. They paid before the cashier could even tell them the price and quickly left the shop. Remy wasn't one to talk to people. Not anymore.

Why did that woman have to talk to me? I feel like I should have just told the truth. But she was a complete stranger to me why would I? Remy thought to themself, sighing as they walked.

When they got home, Hexa was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed.

"What took you so long?" Hexa asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Someone talked to me. Nothing special," Remy responded, their expression unreadable. They put a cookie in their mouth and went to their room.

Then there was a knock on the door. Hexa got up and opened the door. Aatos was there, carrying a box.

"Can you and your sibling help me test this machine? I built it yesterday," Aatos revealed.

"I don't think Remy is in the right mood," Hexa responded.

"C'mon. It requires three people," Aatos whined.

Little did they know Remy had been lestening in the whole time. They walked back to the room. "What machine?" Remy asked.

"You'll see when we test it," Aatos told Remy.

After that, he unboxed the machine. Remy and Hexa looked a bit weirded out by the sight.

"Did you tape a lighter on a literal microwave and call it your invention? That must be one of your most stupid things, At." Remy said.

Aatos huffed. "Hey! It's not just a microwave and a lighter. It just looks like one. I did work inside it," Aatos said proudly.

"Alright, how do you turn it on and what do we do?" Hexa said, trying to play interested.

"It's a teleporter to another dimension. I need you to come with me, Hexa. And Remy can keep watch and release us when we need to get out." Aatos explained.

"Sounds simple," Hexa said with a smile.

"Right. A portal to another dimension," Remy said, a bit skeptic.

Aatos turned the machine on by turning one of the microwave buttons.

"Okay! Hands on the machine. Three, two, one!" Aatos counted down.

With that sain, Hexa and Aatos placed both their hands on top the metallic microwave, their palms against the cold surface. They left some kind of force slowly transporting them.

As the two slowly disappeared, Remy stood there, watching. When they were fully out, as curious as Remy is, they placed a hand on the microwave as well and slowly faded away.

Remy regretted their decision as soon as they saw fire around them, the others nowhere to be seen. But after seconds of the hot situation, they found themself in a thin ring of fire, standing next to Hexa and Aatos who hadn't noticed them yet.

As the ring of fire vanished, the three saw a little boy. That was a bad thing for the unlucky trio, because soon the boy started screaming.

"They came from the Nullfire!" The boy shouted, panick evident on his face.

Oh shoot. He thinks we're some kind of monsters. Think, At, think. Aatos was snapped out of his thoughts when Hexa grabbed his hand.

"Let's get out of here," Hexa said to Aatos.

The two began running and Remy followed them with a slower pace, a slight frown on her face as the two didn't know they came with them.
