After twenty minutes of advancing, the chubby Ma Hongjun had already become proficient with the jungle knife, slightly improving the pace of clearing the path.

Aggressive ones trying to drive intruders away were mostly repelled by Aos Qin using the Shockwave Pattern installed on his right-hand gauntlet. Any that slipped past were handled by Oscar. After all, these were only decade-old Soul Beasts; Aos Qin deliberately avoided provoking century-old Soul Beasts.
Rotating the task of clearing the path, by nightfall — about four hours later — the team had penetrated deeply into the outer regions of Star Dou Forest. Here, the Soul Beasts encountered were mostly century-old. Tomorrow they would move laterally at this depth to find suitable Soul Beasts.
Flander quickly scouted the surroundings alone, selecting a flat area roughly 500 meters from a water source, with relatively sparse trees, as the campsite for the night.
Upon arrival, Shao Xin went to the water source with a bucket-type storage Soul Guidance Device. The bucket could hold twenty cubic meters of water, allowing everyone to take a proper hot bath that night.
The four remaining at the campsite had their own tasks. Oscar and Aos Qin quickly cleared branches and debris, then expanded the foam-metal house, installed and adjusted all supporting Soul Guidance Devices.
Ma Hongjun, under Flander's guidance, scattered powder around the camp to repel small Soul Beasts like insects and snakes, then entered the house to prepare dinner using the Soul Guidance electromagnetic stove — basically stewing a pot of meat soup using a semi-Soul Beast, the Soul Pig, caught on the way.
Within a few minutes, the entire campsite was set up. Shao Xin had not yet returned from fetching water, but as this was still the forest's outer edge, his seventh-ring Soul Saint strength ensured he faced no real danger. Everyone waited patiently.
About ten minutes later, Shao Xin appeared on the Soul Guidance display, which tracked him with probe devices.
Curiously, he wore full-body mech armor. His right hand carried the bucket, while his left hand emitted a shimmering Soul Power glow, as if holding something.
Seeing this, everyone rushed out and finally saw Shao Xin carrying a live lotus-shaped Soul Beast by its roots. Its exact type and age were unclear at first, but since Shao Xin had brought it alive, it was suitable for the three students who needed Soul Rings.
Approaching, they saw it was a 700-year-old Azure Water Lotus Soul Beast. These Soul Beasts live on relatively calm waters, with a natural ability to manipulate water for both offense and defense.
Its lack of flight or underwater combat abilities didn't make it difficult to handle, but that wasn't why it was chosen.
The leaves and seeds of the Azure Water Lotus possessed strong detoxifying properties. On the surface, the burgers appeared unchanged. Upon eating, however, they became supremely delicious.
If the Soul Skill burgers were simply tasty, these burgers were irresistible gourmet enjoyment.
Unfortunately, this composite burger offered only taste, lacking the functionality of the Soul Skill version, yet it still received unanimous praise and became a staple.
After dinner, Oscar addressed the Azure Water Lotus, now removed from water. Without teacher assistance, he handled his own second Soul Ring acquisition.
After Shao Xin released the Soul Guidance Device restraining it, Oscar first used the rapid-fire ray device on his forearm armor to restrict and deplete the Soul Beast's Soul Power, then seized the opportunity to destroy it with the shoulder cannon.
As the bright yellow Soul Ring appeared, Oscar moved the Azure Water Lotus to the living room and began absorbing the second Soul Ring.
Feeling the unstable Soul Power fluctuations around Oscar, Aos Qin focused and used the Soul Connection to sense Oscar's condition.
Through Aos Qin's perception, Oscar's body had endured some impact, but the Azure Water Lotus was only 700 years old — approaching but not exceeding the second Soul Ring absorption limit of 800 years. Thus, it was a tense but safe situation.
Once Oscar's Soul Power stabilized, aside from Shao Xin, the remaining three prepared for a hot bath and rest.
Ma Hongjun, whose shift was originally to guard half the night, could now rest comfortably, as Shao Xin would watch over the disciples. Exhausted from a full day in the Soul Beast forest, the chubby boy finally slept soundly.
The next morning, Aos Qin's biological clock awoke him around 5:30. Entering the small lounge, Oscar was preparing breakfast while Shao Xin rested.
"How's it feel, bro? Breaking through to level twenty — awesome, right?" Aos Qin asked cheerfully. "Quick, show me your second Soul Skill."
