"If you're not cheating on him, then what are you doing? Why are you hanging out with these people?" Crane asked, pushing the plate away from him.
"You don't want to eat anymore?" Fenric hummed, raising an eyebrow. "I went through a great ordeal to get those pastries for you, you know?"
"Why would you get it anyway? I wanted food from her." Crane grumbled, the hand on his hand that was caressing the sadness away wasn't helping. "If it's not from her, I don't want it."
Renzille sighed. "Crane, I asked Fenric and Kreios to buy these for you."
The wolf child perked up, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "So that fox is really your husband, too? Couldn't you choose another beast, ma'am?"
Fenric straightened, his eyes narrowing. "What is that supposed to mean, kiddo?"
Crane ignored him and turned to Renzille, his smaller hand reaching out to touch her arm. "If you're going to cheat on the kind sir, you should have chosen a stronger beast.. Like a bear!"
