When the cold reached a certain point, Feraligatr, following its trainer's command, launched another offensive. The chilling fangs, combined with the colossal tail that surged like a tidal wave, unleashed even more terrifying destructive power than before. A boulder that Quilava had used to dodge attacks shattered into pieces under the dual assault of the giant tail and fangs.
Unfortunately, even with Feraligatr's formidable destructive power, it still couldn't harm Quilava in the slightest. Because it was too good at dodging. It always managed to evade Feraligatr's attacks with movements that were hard to comprehend. Its body's flexibility was not like a mouse's; instead, it was more like a cat's.
Finally, Feraligatr became enraged. Due to its species' easily provoked nature, during one attack, its fangs accidentally bit its own tail because of Quilava's evasion, causing it to go berserk. It no longer followed its trainer's commands to use Ice Bite and Aqua Tail on Quilava but instead stood upright and continuously used Water Gun on Quilava. No matter how the male trainer commanded, it wouldn't listen.
It was also at this moment that Quilava's Smokescreen finally enveloped the entire battle arena. No one could see what was happening inside, and no one could know whether Feraligatr's Water Gun would hit Quilava.
"Quilava, Tactic 3." Jack finally gave another order, commanding the Mew, which had transformed into Quilava inside the Smokescreen, to attack.
"Tactic 3? Hmph! Just changing the name, and you think you can trick us again? I tell you, in your dreams." The young woman observing from outside the arena sneered upon hearing Jack's command.
Jack shrugged: "Whatever you say."
Soon after, Feraligatr's pained cries began to echo from within the Smokescreen. The young woman, disbelieving, walked over to the male trainer: "Brother, don't panic. It must be that guy's Quilava putting on an act again, mimicking Feraligatr's cries to play for sympathy and trick us into surrendering."
"Of course, I know that. It's not like only my Feraligatr can't see its opponent in the Smokescreen; Quilava is the same." The male trainer showed no panic, a confident expression on his face, "And no matter what, this is my Feraligatr. How could it be beaten like this by a mere Quilava? More importantly, Feraligatr is already in an enraged state; its aggression and destructive power will be even greater than usual, so it's even more impossible for it to be screaming in pain."
"That confident?" At this moment, Jack also walked over, "Don't you think the pained cries inside really sound like they're coming from your Feraligatr?"
The male trainer sneered, looking at Jack mockingly: "What, trying to trick me into surrendering? I tell you, that's impossible. I am very confident in the strength of my Feraligatr."
As his words fell, an explosion sounded from within the Smokescreen, accompanied by Feraligatr's pained cries.
"Keep acting, keep acting." The male trainer laughed, "Kid, I have to say, your Quilava's acting is really good. It knows to use a move and then continue the act."
The young woman nodded: "Brother, you're right to think that way. It's definitely still his Quilava acting."
Seeing the siblings' confident demeanor, Jack raised an eyebrow, deciding not to persuade them to surrender anymore. He actually wanted to say that Tactic 3 was different from Tactic 2; this wasn't a fake fight, it was a real one.
Inside the Smokescreen, Mew would transform into other powerful Pokémon that countered Feraligatr and then use various powerful moves to attack Feraligatr. You tell me, under such circumstances, could Feraligatr not cry out in pain?
A few seconds later, dark clouds suddenly formed in the sky, followed by a bolt of lightning striking down, aimed directly at the area covered by the black smoke below. This was the ultimate move 'Thunder' that only Electric-type Pokémon could use.
With a boom. After the lightning struck, Feraligatr's even more agonizing cries came from within the Smokescreen.
"Oh no!"
Jack was startled. Had Mew gotten too carried away fighting and forgotten his instructions? How could it so blatantly use a move that Quilava clearly shouldn't be able to learn? If it had to use one, it should have been a move like Thunderbolt, which wouldn't be visible from outside the Smokescreen.
Jack turned to look at the siblings, thinking about what he would say to placate them later.
"Sis, wasn't that the Thunder move that only Electric-type Pokémon can use?"
After the lightning struck, the male trainer gradually began to feel that something was wrong. Was Thunder a move that a Fire-type Pokémon could use?
"Uh... it seems so." The young woman responded hesitantly, also sensing that something was amiss. She turned to look at Jack, finding him with a mischievous grin, looking at them impishly.
The young woman quickly said, "Brother, don't believe it. That's definitely not Thunder. It must be that Quilava using some kind of illusion technique to create a fake Thunder."
The male trainer frowned, "But illusion techniques are Psychic-type moves. Are those moves that Quilava can learn?"
"Anyway, it's definitely that Quilava acting using methods we don't know. Don't believe me? Look at that guy's expression; he's clearly expecting us to surrender. The more he acts like that, the calmer we need to be."
The young woman turned the male trainer's head away. The male trainer indeed saw Jack's impish expression. He then felt that his sister had a point. They couldn't fall for Jack's trick.
A few more seconds passed. Many scattered rocks nearby began to converge above the Smokescreen, forming a giant rock about two meters high. The giant rock fell, the ground shook violently, followed by Feraligatr's pained cries again.
"This is the Rock-type move 'Rock Throw', isn't it?" The male trainer said hesitantly, his heart starting to pound again.
"Brother, don't panic. It's definitely still an act." The young woman encouraged.
The male trainer turned to look at Jack again.
"It's still not too late to surrender, otherwise, you'll not only lose your money and number plate, but Feraligatr's affection for you will also plummet." Jack teased.
Upon hearing this, the male trainer again stood on the same side as his sister, telling himself not to fall for the trick.
Jack sighed, mourning for Feraligatr in the Smokescreen. Brother, I tried my best to save you, but if your trainer doesn't listen, then you can't blame me.
Another ten seconds passed. Loud noise and violent explosions erupted from within the Smokescreen. The sound lasted for three seconds. Feraligatr's pained cries within it only lasted for two seconds.
Jack heard that something was wrong and quickly said, "Quilava, that's enough."
The noise ended, and there was no longer any movement within the Smokescreen. At this moment, the young woman burst into laughter, pulling the male trainer to mock Jack with her.
"Hahahahaha, can't you keep up the act anymore?"
However, the male trainer didn't respond but instead looked at the Smokescreen with a worried expression.
Jack frowned slightly. Why did this girl still have such thoughts?
Could she be deluded? Hyper Beam has already been used, and you still think it's acting?
Half a minute later, the dark smoke gradually dispersed. A Feraligatr was seen lying on the ground in an utterly miserable state. Its torn and bloody appearance was too gruesome to behold. However, it hadn't fallen unconscious yet, but was lying on the ground, looking in its trainer's direction with resentful eyes. As if to say, 'Master, why didn't you save me?'
Jack felt extremely sorry for it.
