I cut the call, the dial tone a faint echo in my ear.
Finally, I had called Alina back. She hadn't very happy about the sudden accident, complaining about how she should rush over to me herself.
I smiled, remembering her voice as she threw a childish tantrum, like a dog left behind when its owner stepped away.
That smile faded when I noticed a dejected figure crossing across the warehouse.
In her hand, a fancy paper cup lingered. That was the coffee Raven Queen had asked her to buy—especially for her.
Frowning, I quickly covered the distance, placing a hand on Cammy's shoulder as I asked in a very soft voice.
"What's wrong, Cammy?"
Seeing me, Cammy lowered her head.
"She said... it's not what she asked for," her voice was weak, the corner of her eyes was slightly reddened, "and wants me to run back again."
