Chapter 112 - Monster

Drinking beer, Mole added, "Maggie Thea, this woman who calls herself a 'Princess' is suspected to be from the South Continent. She has seven or eight subordinates who constantly change, but no matter how they change, these men are always loyal to the 'Princess'."

"What is Your Highness's personality like?" Lex immediately asked.

Mole laughed, "Suspicious, irritable, and very cruel. Oh, and she is very concerned about her appearance. She has killed at least two women and one man because of this."

Grizzly Bear leaned over, "I heard she has a lot of thick hair, and some even say she is actually a monster, a monster in human skin."

"Why haven't such dangerous figures been targeted by the authorities?" Lex raised his question.

Mole chuckled, "Of course they have. In fact, twice they were found by the Police Station right after a robbery. But the Police Station couldn't find any evidence, so they had to drop the case."

"Alright, so where is Your Highness now?"

"At a farm in the suburbs."

Lex thought for a moment and said, "Find someone to report to the Police Station. Just say you saw Maggie at a suburban farm and witnessed her transform into a hairy monster."

"Of course, don't mention her specific name, just describe her and highlight her characteristics."

Mole didn't ask why, but simply said, "I'll take care of it immediately."

Lex liked this about him. As for why he did this, it was because after getting a taste of success from the Sea Serpent Gang's last operation, Lex hoped that this time, someone else would also test the waters and probe the risks for him.

He felt that Maggie should be a Beyonder, and although she hadn't been caught by the Police Station yet, she should already be on record with the official Beyonder organization.

Lex remembered that the original novel mentioned that if a wild Beyonder was discovered and confirmed to be somewhat dangerous, the official Beyonder would intervene and take action.

If the location was in the suburbs, the Night Watchers probably wouldn't be responsible. Although Lex couldn't clearly remember which specific area Klein's team was in charge of, in the original novel, they usually operated within the city.

This way, there was no need to worry about attracting the Night Watchers and encountering Klein.

Soon, Mole returned and gave Lex a 'done' gesture. Lex drained his glass of wine, jumped down, and said, "Let's go, we'll go keep an eye on the 'Princess' first."

On a relatively high slope in the suburbs of Tingen City, Lex poked his head out from the dense grass. Beside him, Grizzly Bear was grimacing as he shooed away the surrounding mosquitoes, while Mole and Nafi had found their own hiding spots and seemed to be free of Grizzly Bear's troubles.

Using his hunter's vision, Lex gazed at the farm below.

The farm was enclosed by a wall, and inside, besides a two-story building, there were also cattle pens, pigsties, and a large open space.

Under the crimson moonlight, Lex couldn't see a single animal. The cattle pens and pigsties were empty, and the open space was overgrown with human-height weeds.

However, lights were on in the two-story building, and from time to time, laughter and the clinking of glasses could be heard.

Lex gestured to Nafi, "We'll go around to the back of the farm to monitor."

He didn't forget to tell Grizzly Bear and Mole, "If official personnel appear, you two come with us as well, so you don't get caught as accomplices."

After receiving their replies, Lex took the 'big' beauty Nafi to the back of the farm and hid in a small grove. From this distance, Lex could even see figures in the window.

He saw a dark, thin woman with thick, stiff black hair. Her attire, as expected, was not in the style of the Loen Kingdom.

She was adorned with feathers and gold flakes, and was dancing a strange dance on a table, while six or seven men around her cheered loudly.

That should be Maggie.

Not yet ready to act, Lex leaned against a tree and casually asked, "Nafi, you're not from Loen, are you?"

The girl, trying her best to hide behind a tree, hummed, "I come from the other side of the Sea Island, an island no one has ever heard of."

Lex glanced at her, "That far? Then why did you come to Loen?"

"To find someone."

Nafi added, "Also, I heard the Loen Kingdom is very prosperous. Perhaps here, I can find the potion to advance."

"Which pathway are you on?"

"Warrior!"

Nafi said proudly, "In ancient times, we were called 'Transcendent Warriors', and I am a born Warrior! When I was 13, no one my age on the island was taller, stronger, or more agile than me!"

A born Warrior? Hereditary?

Were her parents Beyonder and on the Warrior pathway?

As he pondered these questions, Lex heard some sounds, and then flames and loose earth suddenly erupted from the farm, as if it had been hit by cannon fire!

Footsteps came from the other side of the grove, and Lex saw Grizzly Bear and Mole rushing over.

"Boss Duke, they're here, the official people are here. But not the Police Station, it's a group of guys with strange equipment."

Grizzly Bear said excitedly, "Those guys combine some wondrous Machines, and they can fire cannon-like things like a big cannon."

Mole's description was more detailed, "I saw them take out a long black box containing iron-black cannon-barrel-shaped things. Besides the cannon barrels, there were also strange guns with ammunition belts inserted into them."

"Those people used such cannon barrels and guns to launch a fierce attack on the manor."

It was indeed a fierce attack.

After the first cannon shot exploded, the explosions and gunfire never stopped for a moment.

At this moment, Nafi gasped, "Look at that grassy area."

The tall girl pointed to the overgrown area in the manor. The tall grass swayed, and under the moonlight, figures emerged one after another.

They seemed to be people.

Lex's pupils widened slightly to take in more Light, to see the faces of those people clearly.

These people had numb expressions, empty eyes, pale faces with a greenish tinge, and suspicious patches all over their bodies.

Lex could not feel a trace of spirituality from a living person on them. Suddenly, he saw one of them, with an eyeball hanging from his left eye, connected only by some nerves.

He also saw that another person's cheek muscles had already rotted, exposing gray-white gums under the moonlight.

Lex immediately thought of something.

Zombie!

These still-moving corpses seemed to be drawn by some invisible summons, moving towards the front yard. Then, the windows of the small building shattered, and two figures tumbled out.

Under the moonlight, the dark, thin woman with thick hair and strange attire clutched her abdomen and stood up. Lex saw clearly that she had a terrible wound on her stomach, with even intestines spilling out.

But she casually stuffed her intestines back in without any emergency treatment, and when she let go, her wound had already healed!

Lex took a sharp breath, his scalp tingling. What kind of monster was this?
