Chapter 161 - The Perfectionist

Last night, after leaving a blood message in Hudson's secret room and taking Eugene's Wraith characteristic, Lex, along with the evidence and contracts, packed everything up and threw it into St. Selena Church.

He speculated that Hudson, cornered, would either flee Tingen or become a star witness.

And no matter what choice the other party made, Hudson would most likely do one thing before making a decision.

Revenge!

This was a conclusion drawn from Hudson's past actions.

Lex believed him to be a perfectionist.

After Sandy caught Hudson hypnotizing the club manager, it would have been enough for him to simply hypnotize Sandy and make him forget about it.

But what did he do?

He first made Sandy unable to see his son, intending to drive Sandy insane, and then throw him into a mental hospital.

When this failed, he simply killed Sandy, leaving no trace.

Subsequently.

Three contracts fell into Lex's hands.

He should have reported this matter to his superiors, but he chose to conceal it, secretly found someone to divine, eventually targeted the two Grizzlies, and caused a tragic incident.

Finally, with Robin, after Hudson saw through him, he tried to find Robin's client, and for this, he also made Robin commit suicide.

All these incidents indicated that Hudson was someone who could not tolerate failure, and such a person, having suffered a crushing defeat because of himself.

Then, what he would do next was almost obvious.

However.

Hudson still didn't know of his existence, so if he wanted revenge.

Then there was only one option.

Nafi!

Even though Nafi was settled near St. Selena Church, Hudson might very well risk taking action, which is why Lex was here now.

He was preparing to hunt Hudson here.

To avenge the innocents who died at his hands!

"Boss Duke!"

Seeing Lex, Nafi cheered happily and rushed towards Lex.

"No!"

"Stop!"

"Oh."

Lex was once again lifted off his feet by the tall girl's embrace; thankfully, there was no one else in the room, otherwise, Mr. Duke's image would be in jeopardy.

This time, Nafi quickly put him down, then looked at Lex with pitiful eyes: "Boss, how much longer do I have to stay here? Look at me, I'm about to get moldy."

Your skin is fair and smooth, how can it look like it's about to get moldy!

Lex silently complained in his heart, then cleared his throat and said: "I have two pieces of good news for you."

"First, I already have a clue for the 'Gladiator' potion formula... No!"

Before Lex finished speaking, he was once again hugged tightly by Nafi: "Boss, you are truly amazing, you actually helped me find the Gladiator formula, I'm so touched."

"Let go of me, I'm suffocating!"

After protesting for a while, Lex was finally able to breathe fresh air again: "Second, I have a task for you. Go to the Evil Dragon Bar in the Dock Area now, stay there, and you can only leave when I come to find you."

"Why?"

Nafi's eyes sparkled: "Boss, did you take on a commission? Take me with you."

"I'm already taking you with me."

"Sending you to the Evil Dragon Bar is part of the plan. Tell me, can you complete the task?"

Nafi immediately stood straight and shouted: "Yes!"

"Then don't I have to stay in the bar all day? That's too boring. Can I drink alcohol?"

Lex said sternly: "No drinking, no fighting. If you don't want to go to the bar, that's fine, then just stay here."

"No, no, no!"

The girl, who hadn't seen the sun for several days, quickly rushed into the bedroom, then took out her long sword and said: "I'm going now!"

She was afraid Lex would change his mind, and with powerful strides, she ran off.

After Nafi was sent away, Lex began to set up. He threw a leather suitcase onto the ground, opened it, took out various materials from inside, and got busy.

In Tingen, in September, the sun quickly set, but before the sky was completely dark, men in black coats and with unfriendly faces appeared one by one in the alley behind Mr. Parker's house.

These men stopped behind the house and all looked at a plump figure slowly walking from the depths of the alley.

Hudson!

He wore a pure black suit, a semi-tall silk top hat, carried a gold-plated cane, and walked over with a cruel smile on his face.

"Sir, what do you need us to do next?" A man with a scar on his lip looked at Hudson.

The fat man narrowed his eyes slightly, his grizzled beard twitching: "You go in through the window, find a girl, and bring her out to me."

"Understood." The man with the scarred lip asked again, "Do you want her dead or alive?"

Hudson said coldly: "Alive, of course."

The man waved his arm, and the others skillfully used a thin metal sheet to pry open the window, then climbed into the house.

Their reckless actions caused the hair-thin wire tied to the window to be pulled, thus activating several jingle bells in the corner.

But these jingle bells had obviously been tampered with; the sound they made was not loud, so much so that these men who broke in through the window didn't even notice.

Hudson sneered and walked over; naturally, the men in black opened the door connecting the kitchen to the back alley for him, allowing him to calmly walk into the house.

These men in black were Gang members he hired; they sold their lives for money, and Hudson didn't even need to hypnotize them to make them work for him.

Of course, he hadn't considered what threat a group of Gang members could pose to a Beyonder.

Even a Sequence 9 could easily handle a dozen such Gang members.

However, these guys had guns, which could create a certain threat and provide some exploitable opportunities.

As long as he seized the opportunity, Hudson could use his Psychiatrist abilities, and the 'Hypnotic Pipe' he held in his mouth, to turn that tall girl into a deadly weapon in his hands!

He had already begun to imagine.

Imagining the expression of that opponent he had never met, that audacious scoundrel, when he ignorantly approached his companion and was then stabbed in the chest by his friend with a sword.

That would certainly be interesting!

Although they were Gang members, they also had a certain 'experience'. After entering the house, they did not search wildly, but rather lightened their footsteps and searched room by room.

Soon they had gone through the first floor, and under the command of their leader, they moved up to the second floor.

Soon, they heard movement in the study on the second floor; clearly, someone was in there.

They exchanged glances, then quietly pulled out their revolvers and approached the room.

Hudson also walked up; he noticed that candles were lit everywhere from downstairs to the second floor. One here, one there, making the two-story building brightly lit.

It seemed that, although she was a Beyonder, this girl was a bit afraid of the dark.

Thinking this, Hudson watched as the Gang members suddenly crashed through the door and rushed into the room.

Then, gunshots rang out in the room, and a strong Light, like daylight, illuminated the area.
