Chapter 342 - 'Tough Guy' Danitz

Walking among the crowd, Roch, wearing a white top hat, sniffed. "Damn Spice City, and those natives who like to smear strange perfumes on themselves. They make the air here strange, turn breathing itself into a torture, and give me many peculiar smells."

"Maybe Laffey will like it, but I won't!"

An almost imperceptible malice flashed in his eyes, and an urge to kill all the residents of Bayam surged in his heart. Even images themed with blood and corpses had already appeared in his mind.

Then he lowered his head, carefully concealing his malice.

Walking on the street, he would occasionally turn to change direction, or pretend to be attracted by a certain product and stop, but would take the opportunity to look around. He was cautious, determined not to be followed.

Roch even ducked into a clothing store, and when he emerged, he had covered his white formal wear with a local-style cloak. Of course, he had put away that conspicuous hat.

At dusk, he arrived at a house near the Sea and knocked on the door with a special rhythm.

After the door opened, Roch saw Laffey. He slipped inside and said, "Did you catch 'Blazing'?"

"Of course! With the Captain and Zot working together, how could they not catch a heavily injured 'Blazing'?" Laffey's face broke into an exaggerated smile, causing white powder to fall off.

Taking off his cloak and putting his top hat back on, Roch walked into the living room and saw Danitz curled up in the corner. He was unconscious, his eyelids twitching occasionally, as if he might wake up at any moment.

Roch pulled a glass bottle from his pocket, which seemed to contain some kind of essential oil. He walked over and moved the bottle back and forth near Danitz's nose. Soon, Danitz became quiet.

"We leave when it gets dark." On the long sofa placed against the wall on the other side, Marco held a turkey leg in his hand, fiercely tore off a strip of meat, and chewed it vigorously.

As dusk deepened and the stars began to shine, Laffey brought a carriage. Red-haired Zot, wearing a clown mask, threw Danitz into the carriage, and then Marco and the others also climbed in, leaving the city.

They arrived at a private port, then transferred to a fishing boat, and under the cover of night, left Bayam.

About an hour later, in the shadow of a cliff on a certain island, a pirate ship was docked. A flag fluttered above it, depicting a white skull and cutlery.

That was Marco's ship, the 'Big Eater'.

After boarding, Danitz was taken to a room in the ship's cabin. This was the interrogation room on the ship, with shackles on the walls and torture instruments casually strewn on a nearby table. There were traces of bloodstains on the floor and walls that had not been thoroughly cleaned.

After Zot and Laffey shackled Danitz together, a Sailor brought a bucket of seawater and poured it all over Danitz.

Danitz was immediately woken by the water, spitting out droplets and looking around with slight panic.

"Good evening, Blazing." Marco pulled over a chair and sat down. He lit a cigarette, biting it between his thick lips, and watched Danitz at his leisure.

Danitz narrowed his eyes. "Marco, 'Big Eater' Marco."

"That's right, it's me."

Marco exhaled a puff of smoke and said, "How about we make a deal? You tell me about that 'clue' your Captain has. You should know which one I'm referring to, so don't try any tricks."

"If you tell me the information about that 'clue', then I'll let you go back."

Danitz showed an amused smile. "I heard you have pica. Did you eat too many Zombie brains, which made you as stupid as a Zombie?"

"Do you think I would betray the Captain?"

"Sorry, you're not worthy yet."

"If you want me to speak, tell Senor to roll over here himself."

Marco chuckled and looked at Zot. The masked Second Mate immediately punched Danitz.

Danitz spat out a mouthful of blood and looked at Zot, saying, "Is that all the strength you have? The girls from the Red Theater are stronger than you."

"Oh, and you're wearing a mask. Are you ashamed to show your face? I bet your mom gave birth to you looking very ugly…"

Bang!

Another punch, making Danitz see stars.

Marco flicked the ash from his cigarette and said, "Don't be stubborn, 'Blazing'. It's not worth sacrificing yourself for a woman. As long as you tell us that 'clue', the Admiral will give you a large sum of money."

"You can have as many women as you want."

Danitz nodded and said, "Alright, I'll tell you. Come closer, I'll only tell you alone."

Marco narrowed his eyes. "Don't play tricks!"

"Are you even a man? I've been caught by you, what tricks can I play? You wouldn't lack even that much courage, would you?" Danitz had a punchable grin on his face.

Marco snorted and walked over, saying, "Spit it out."

"Lend me your ear, otherwise, how can I tell you alone?"

Marco had no choice but to lean in, suddenly feeling a sharp tug on his ear as Danitz bit him. Although it didn't hurt him, Danitz's taunting made him furious. He punched Danitz hard in the stomach, making the Boatswain vomit even his dinner from the night before.

Roch, who witnessed all of this, calmly said, "He won't talk, even if you kill him, he won't talk."

Marco wiped the saliva from his ear with his hand. "Then what should we do?"

"Kill him."

"Then, I will commune with his spirit."

Roch took off his top hat, patted it, and said, "Wait for me a moment, I'll grab some things, and I'll be right back."

Time rewound slightly.

Just after Marco and his crew boarded the ship, a dark cloud appeared from nowhere in the originally clear night sky, and then the air quickly became humid. A moment later, large raindrops began to fall.

The rain intensified dramatically within a few seconds, accompanied by a gale blowing across the Sea. Suddenly, the 'Big Eater' seemed to be in the midst of a storm.

In the fierce wind and rain, the Sailors who were on deck duty all covered their heads and took shelter in the ship's cabin.

At the same time, a hurricane lamp was lit in an unoccupied cabin. At this moment, the flame in the hurricane lamp suddenly grew, causing the lampshade to shatter. From the spitting flames, a figure leaped out and landed on the ground.

Lex patted the water droplets from his body and looked around.

In Bayam, relying on the unique scent of Perfume No. 2, he had followed the pirate with the white top hat, witnessing them transfer Danitz and depart from the private port.

Lex stole a fishing boat and chased after them, realizing something was wrong when he saw that Marco and his crew had not boarded the Blood Admiral's flagship.

Given the situation, those pirates seemed to have no intention of taking Danitz to meet Senor. In that case, Danitz was very likely in danger.

Furthermore, considering that the other party had a divining Beyonder, such a Beyonder most likely understood 'spirit mediumship'. In other words, the pirates probably intended to kill Danitz and then perform spirit mediumship. If they were lucky, they could still obtain the information they wanted!
