Chapter 397 - Visitors in the Dream

Osmon had a dream.

He dreamt he was in a small grove on a sunny morning, teaching his 9-year-old son how to wrestle.

Both father and son enjoyed the activity, laughing heartily.

During a break, he heard a voice say, "Good morning. Or is it morning?"

Osmon turned around and saw a dapper young man in formal attire approaching. The man's Loen features made him frown slightly, but only for a moment.

Because he was dreaming, his mind was hazy and disoriented, preventing him from reacting properly.

He didn't even find the man's sudden appearance out of place.

"Officer Osmon, I'd like to ask you something. Who are the powerful individuals in the Marshal's Residence? Hmm, I mean, those with Beyonder abilities."

The young man asked with a smile. In the sunlight, within the dream, his smile looked so friendly.

This made his question sound very ordinary, very common, like a daily greeting between neighbors, not worth special attention.

Osmon unconsciously smiled and said, "If we're talking about powerful individuals, then we must mention Mr. Butler. He's a native of the South Continent, always so serious that he often makes me feel intimidated."

"He usually shows no expression, as if nothing in this world is worth his attention. But he is a very powerful person. He can appear in mirrors, and he can control inanimate objects nearby. I personally saw him use curtains to strangle an intruder."

"And he didn't even have to lift a finger."

The young Loen man was naturally Lex, who, with the help of the magical item 'Midnight Dream', had entered Osmon's dream.

Hearing this, he could confirm that this Mr. Butler was the Demigod from the Rose School of Thought.

"Is there anyone else?" Lex asked with a smile, prompting him.

Osmon stood in a relaxed posture and continued, "Besides Mr. Butler, our Marshal, the esteemed Mr. Yedgar, is also a powerful individual."

"He is incredibly strong. His strength, agility, and speed far exceed those of ordinary people. He can easily defeat someone like me, and Mr. Yedgar can also turn his fingernails into sharp claws."

"Oh, right, once he suffered a very serious injury. A despicable rebel used explosives to blow a hole in his stomach. But very quickly, Mr. Yedgar recovered completely."

"We all believe he possesses an immortal body."

No. That's not an immortal body; werewolves can be killed.

Lex was slightly surprised that Yedgar was a 'Werewolf', but not entirely, as it was logical for him to be a Beyonder from the 'Prisoner' Pathway, given his association with the Rose School of Thought.

"Oh, Ms. Sheila is also very capable. She is Mr. Yedgar's secretary, and she has excellent eloquence, always able to persuade people with differing opinions."

"Ms. Sheila is also very skilled in combat. You would never imagine that such a petite lady could easily defeat our well-trained Soldiers."

"Finally, among the powerful individuals in the Marshal's Residence, only Mr. Gander remains."

"He is Mr. Yedgar's bodyguard, though I feel Mr. Yedgar doesn't need a bodyguard at all. However, Mr. Gander still has Beyonder abilities. He can move freely underwater, and he can make his skin grow fish-like scales, making him very difficult to catch."

"But Mr. Gander is most terrifying when he is angry. At that time, he can unleash strength and speed beyond his usual, becoming like a human-shaped storm."

Hmm, Ms. Sheila is difficult to deduce. Excellent eloquence, persuading people with differing opinions, sounds a bit like a 'Lawyer'.

As for Gander, he should be a Beyonder of the 'Sailor' Pathway.

Four.

There are four Beyonder individuals in the Marshal's Residence. The most troublesome is the Half-God 'Puppet'. Next is Yedgar, who is a 'Werewolf', followed by Gander and Xila, whose specific strength is unknown.

Lex nodded and asked with a smile, "Can you tell me about the Marshal's Residence? Roughly how big is it, and what kind of buildings does it have? Oh, and do you have gas pipelines?"

...

At midnight, Osmon turned over in bed and woke up from his sleep. He felt very thirsty, as if he had spoken a lot. He got up, drank a glass of water, and fell back into a deep sleep.

In a flash, it was 4:35 AM.

This was the darkest hour of the day, before dawn, with the night still vast.

Even the moon was nowhere to be seen.

At this hour, when even dogs were asleep, Lex drifted like a ghost through the misty streets. He passed through numerous main roads and alleys, taking nearly an hour to reach a sizable estate.

This was Yedgar's residence.

The Marshal's Residence was shrouded in darkness, with only a dim yellow lamp lit in front of the main gate. The Soldiers guarding the gate were leaning against it, dozing off, completely unaware of a figure swiftly passing behind the distant trees.

Lex, of course, would not choose to enter through the main gate. According to Osmon's confession, he arrived at the northwest corner of the estate, where there was a small grove with very weak defenses, making it the best option for infiltrating the estate.

If Lex had been willing to use 'Steal Location', he wouldn't have had to go through such trouble, but to avoid being detected by the Demigod, he did not plan to use his abilities to sneak into the estate.

After scaling the wall, Lex heard the sound of water, which led him to conclude that not far from here was the area Osmon had mentioned, with hills and flowing water.

There was also a grassy area here, for Yedgar to ride horses within the estate.

Judging from the estate and the architectural style described by Osmon, Yedgar's Marshal's Residence was entirely built in imitation of the Loen Kingdom's architectural style.

This was truly ironic.

Yedgar Island had such ill feelings towards the Loen people, yet the Marshal's Residence pursued Loen architectural styles, which made Yedgar seem somewhat 'fawning over foreign things'.

Recalling the information provided by Osmon, Lex soon found a warehouse.

He easily entered the warehouse, which was filled with many things. Grains, fruits, fine wines, cured meats, and one of the most important resources on Yedgar: animal fats!

Yedgar had no gas supply; they mostly used animal fats for lighting, refined from various fish to meet the daily needs of the Sea Island.

And what Lex had to do was to spread these flammable materials around the villa.

"Atchoo."

In the southwest corner of the villa, two Soldiers on night watch sneezed and huddled closer to a sheltered spot. They sat on the grass, warming their hands at a brazier.

At this moment, they smelled a strange odor drifting in the air.

"Do you smell that? There's a strange smell."

"Hmm, why does it smell like fish oil?"

"The smell seems to be coming from above."

One Soldier used the brazier to light a torch, stood up, walked near the villa wall, and sniffed hard.

At this time, in the torchlight, he saw some kind of liquid winding down the outer wall of the villa. The Soldier dipped a finger in it, brought it to his nose, and smelled a fishy odor.
