Even after leaving the Black Pearl and rowing a small boat towards the Sea Island where the Golden Dream was anchored, Lex was still thinking about the 'missing person's request' from earlier.
Danitz and the others were also discussing this, and for the first time, they were having a lively discussion with Jodeson.
"Captain, that wasn't someone from the North-South Continent, was it? I've never seen anyone with that appearance!" Danitz was a little excited, seemingly having cast aside his frustration about not being able to buy the potion formula.
Sitting in the small boat, Edwina, bathed in the crimson moonlight, was like a beautiful statue, exuding an intellectual beauty. She nodded slightly, "I've also seen this race for the first time. It's very strange, where did he come from?"
Edwina might be connected to the God of Knowledge and Wisdom Church; her knowledge is quite astonishing. If even she doesn't know where that person named 'Li Rui' or 'Lin Rui' came from, then it's very possible that this world, or rather, the people of the North-South Continent, haven't yet discovered other continents.
Perhaps in the future, I can be the Columbus of the mysterious world?
Lex let his thoughts wander, and just then, gunshots suddenly rang out over the sea, making Lex and the others turn to look.
They saw several points of light appear on the dark sea in the distance, like the glow of lanterns.
Then, faint human voices and splashing sounds were heard. A moment later, Lex heard loud splashing, and someone was swimming desperately towards them.
"Help!"
"Help!"
When Lex heard this voice, he immediately thought of the gathering participant who was suspected of being related to the Artisan, the one who sold the runic dagger.
He was indeed attacked!
In the distance, ships appeared under the moonlight one after another. Four or five small boats were rowing towards them, and people on board were firing guns into the sky, shouting for the person in the water to stop.
"Captain." Danitz suddenly looked at Edwina.
The Iceberg Admiral said without hesitation, "Save them."
Danitz immediately dropped his oars and leaped into the water. His swimming seemed quite good, and he quickly swam towards the person in the water, kicking up splashes.
Jodeson had already pulled out his revolver, but seeing that the boats on the other side were far away, he frowned and said, "Too far, can't attack."
Lex stood up, about to use his Pyromaniac abilities to attack, but suddenly remembered he had two pressure bottles with him. He immediately took out one of them.
Following Melissa's instructions, he pressed a trigger-like component, and the bottle immediately hissed as air was sucked into it under pressure, mixing with the hydrogen inside.
Lex felt the weight of the pressure bottle in his hand and realized it would be difficult to throw it to the opposite boat with his bare hands. A sudden inspiration struck him, and he tore off a strip of cloth from the edge of his cloak, tying it to the pressure bottle.
Edwina was initially puzzled, then showed a look of understanding as Lex stepped onto the gunwale and began to spin the pressure bottle.
He spun the bottle clockwise, faster and faster, and finally, with a whoosh, threw it in the direction of the pursuers.
Under the moonlight, the pressure bottle soared into the air, a moment later, it fell towards the enemy ship.
The people on the boat were puzzled, not knowing what Lex had thrown at them.
On the sea, Danitz was swimming strenuously towards the person in the water when suddenly a flash of fire appeared above his head. He looked up and saw a crow, condensed from pure flame, spread its wings and flew over his head with a whoosh.
The heat wave generated by the fire crow cutting through the air made Danitz's head feel hot. He quickly touched his head, thinking his hair was on fire.
Then he saw the fire crow peck at a bottle falling from the sky. The moment they touched, a ball of white light lit up on the sea.
Then, with a rumble, a wave of crimson flame expanded and spread at an extremely fast speed. The closest small boat was blown into the air, its hull torn to pieces, and the people on it caught fire and fell into the sea, not even making a sound, seemingly killed or stunned instantly by the blast.
The other small boats nearby, though not blown into the air, also had their hulls shattered and splinters flying everywhere. The people on them were all thrown off by the shockwave, splashing into the water.
After the fire light disappeared, several shattered small boats on the sea were on fire, and people kept poking their heads out of the water, groaning and screaming, barely holding onto larger pieces of wood to keep themselves afloat.
Seeing several boats on the sea instantly destroyed, Jodeson looked at Lex in surprise: "What did you do?"
"An experiment."
Lex smiled and said, "The effect is acceptable, but it's far from my expectations."
Originally, he had envisioned that this explosion should have shattered all the boats on the other side. Unfortunately, except for the closest boat which was blown to pieces, the others merely broke apart.
Lex thought that this might be related to the current level of craftsmanship in this world, which still couldn't produce containers capable of storing various gases for long periods. Even with metal bottles, the hydrogen inside was difficult to preserve for too long.
Moreover, that kind of explosion without Beyonder effects was only effective against ordinary people or low-Sequence Beyonder.
Not to mention demigods.
By Sequence 7, Beyonder would be very difficult to kill with such methods.
Of course, it's not entirely useless. At least, this method can also be used by ordinary people. The simplest way is to bundle several hydrogen tanks together; if conditions permit, ordinary people can also use them to kill Sequence 9 Beyonder.
Even if not used to kill enemies, it's quite useful for arson, and hydrogen can be collected with simple chemical tools. Unlike buying explosives, which is too easy to trace.
But for Lex, who was about to advance to Sequence 6, it was ultimately too much of a "chicken rib" (too insignificant to be useful).
Soon, Danitz had rescued the person who fell into the water. Jodeson wanted to ask something, but Edwina gave the instruction to 'discuss it back on the ship', so Lex and the others quickly rowed away.
A moment later, a sailboat arrived near the scene of the incident. On the mast of this sailboat hung a pirate flag with a black crow drawn on it, but the crow's head was only a skull, and its eye sockets burned with crimson flames.
Someone stood on the gunwale, silently looking at the scattered small boats below, and at the people floating on the sea, clinging to planks.
"Captain, it seems they failed," a man with a top hat, wearing a black double-breasted long coat, and with thin cheeks, whispered.
The man referred to as the Captain had a 'bald' head, grayish-white skin, very dark circles under his eyes, and seemed to be wearing lipstick, making his lips frighteningly red.
He was wearing a fur-collared long coat and was the person who bought the runic dagger from the Black Pearl.
He nodded slightly: "I saw it."
"Save them," he turned and walked towards the Captain's Cabin, "Then find out from them who snatched my fat prey that was already in my mouth!"
So the man in the long black coat and top hat called out, "Did you hear that? Hurry up and save them."
