Jasmin's POV
"What?" I snapped, my voice sharp with disbelief. "You think I'm following you?"
Max remained perfectly still against the tree trunk, one ankle crossed over his knee, fingers casually flicking ash from his cigarette. "I don't think anything. I observe facts. Lately, you keep appearing wherever I happen to be."
Images flashed through my mind of him and his wolf pursuing me through the forest, hunting me instead of his assigned prey, inserting himself into my business at every opportunity. I locked eyes with him, fighting to control my mounting frustration. "Are you out of your mind?" I arched an eyebrow. "You're the one constantly following me around. You're the stalker and the bully in this equation. I didn't even notice you here until now. You're not exactly difficult to ignore."
His lips curved around the cigarette in a slow, wicked smile. "That's not how it appeared when you nearly dropped your plate the moment you spotted me."
