Chapter 68 - Chapter 68

After breakfast in the dining hall all first years were given extra thirty minutes to tidy up. Having nothing to tidy up since she successfully escaped the hazing ritual, Princess Marina put on the Academy uniform that featured a black blazer with a dark green vest, black inner shirt, dark green tie, a black fabric that mimicked a belt and a dark green skirt with knee high black socks and black shoes.

Leaving her roommates behind after she decided to take a stroll by herself, Princess Marina left the dorm with the intention of heading to the main campus before realizing that she might have to walk all ten miles to class.

"Walking to the dining hall is nothing because the dining hall is within reasonable distance from the dormitories but having to walk to class is too much!" Princess Marina thought as she glared at the path leading to class buildings.

"Greetings to the third star of the empire," a voice said and Princess Marina snapped out of her staring competition with the road.

"It is not my intention to mock but you do know there is a train." Lysandria said as she chuckled at Princess Marina's previous expression.

"Greetings senior Lysandria." Princess Marina said in a flustered tone.

"I am ashamed to say this, but I didn't know that there was a train." Princess Marina said in a bashful tone.

"Did you assume you would walk to class or were you trying to summon the golems from the welcome ceremony with your eyes?" Lysandria asked in a teasing tone and Princess Marina shook her head in embarrassment.

"So this is how Aldric feels." Princess Marina thought, as she determined that karma was out to get her with this conversation.

Trying to get back some of the face that she was sure that she had lost, Princess Marina asked "If there was a train, why was there such a grand display for the welcome ceremony?" curiously.

"It's an Academy tradition." Lysandria said with a smile as she steered them both to a train station that was ten meters away from the dormitories and was connected to each dormitory by a specific path.

"The first years are always welcomed in a grand style as a gift to being admitted to the academy." Lysandria said flippantly as she stood on the train platform.

Causing the ground to tremble with both the noise of its engine and its overwhelming speed, the train that was painted a dark green with blue tinted windows materialized in front of Lysandria and Princess Marina.

Stepping on the train with Lysandria, Princess Marina took her seat close to the window and watched as the train created ice as it moved.

"So that's why I didn't see any tracks that would have suggested that there was a train." Princess Marina thought as the train travelled quickly.

"Do you have questions on the academy yet?" Lysandria asked Princess Marina and Princess Marina shook her head.

"I have no specific questions because I haven't began classes yet but if I may ask something," Princess Marina said and Lysandria nodded her head for her to go on.

"I would like to know if there are any instructors to avoid?" Princess Marina asked sheepishly and Lysandria smiled.

"You know how to ask things that matter." Lysandria said as she high fived Princess Marina with a grin.

"There isn't an instructor to particularly look out for but if I must mention names-" Lysandria said with a michevious smile

"I would say that you should stay far away from Auralith Kane." Lysandria said and Princess Marina nodded.

"Normally first years wouldn't have to deal with Auralith Kane because he is responsible for year 2 students instead but rumours say that there was an incident over the holidays that docked Auralith Kane's salary and transferred him from year 2 classes to year 1 classes." Lysandria whispered and Princess Marina gulped.

"Whatever accident he had, saved me from having to meet him this year but I do pity the first years. From what I heard from seniors last year," Lysandria said bringing her voice down.

"Auralith Kane is known for nit picking and looking down on all students blessed by the spirit of fire and is extremely frugal when giving marks." Lysandria said with a whisper.

"Angering him is akin to wondering into a black birds nest and to survive his class you must learn to hold your tongue and keep your head down no matter what he says." Lysandria said with a shiver.

"I am sad for the first years but I am happy that I will never be taught by him." Lysandria said with a smile.
