The Remnants of Destruction and a New Dawn
The blinding white light from the combined Sinze and Arkan techniques finally exploded, swallowing the entire battlefield in absolute silence. The chains of light wrapped around Hana's body, forcibly suppressing the red aura of the God of Curses back into the seal on her forehead. With one final touch on Hana's forehead, the spreading black patterns faded, leaving behind the body of a girl who was broken and drenched in blood.
Hana collapsed. Her breath hitched softly before she finally fell unconscious in the Teacher's arms. The God had fallen back into slumber, leaving behind unimaginable destruction. Half the city was now leveled; the skyscrapers that were once magnificent now only remained as smoldering iron skeletons under the bleak light of dawn.
The following day, the world seemed to stop turning.
Major news dominated every television station and social media platform. The main headline read: "Mysterious Disaster: Half the City Destroyed Overnight!". However, behind the natural disaster narrative, an official announcement from the entertainment agency shook the public even harder:
"National Idol Hana Mouri and her Idol Group are declared on total hiatus for one month due to sudden health issues."
The internet exploded. Millions of fans across the continent held mass prayers; the hashtag #GetWellSoonHana became the number one trending topic globally.
In a heavily guarded VIP hospital room, the atmosphere was a stark contrast to the commotion outside. Hana lay weak on a white bed, her body wrapped in many bandages. Beside her, Anna, the Manager who usually appeared firm, now looked extremely haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She was accompanied by her beautiful secretary, who looked equally anxious.
Hana's eyelids flickered slightly. She groaned, feeling as if her head had been struck by a sledgehammer repeatedly.
"What... what happened?" Hana's voice was hoarse, barely audible.
"Hana! You're okay! You're awake!" Anna exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion. She almost dropped the schedule files she was holding. "Secretary, quickly call the others!"
Within seconds, the room door burst open. Sakura, Leah, Kamao, and Ayane rushed in.
"HANA-CHAN!" Leah screamed while nearly lunging at the bed, only to be immediately held back by Sakura.
"Idiot! She's still injured, don't lunge at her!" Sakura scolded, though her own eyes were welling up.
"Hana, do you have any idea? We almost had a heart attack!" Ayane chattered while wiping away her tears. "And even worse, all the limited-edition ice cream in the agency fridge melted because the power went out last night! It's a tragedy!"
"Ayane, seriously! Your friend almost died and you're thinking about ice cream?!" Kamao flicked Ayane's forehead, creating a small comedic moment amidst the emotional atmosphere.
Hana tried to smile despite her body being in immense pain. "Sorry for making you all worry... I only remember us playing with that board, and then... darkness."
"Darkness, you say?!" Anna interrupted while massaging her temples. "You destroyed half the city, Hana! The manager of the neighboring agency actually thought it was an alien attack! I have to prepare a thousand fake excuses for the reporters outside!"
"But Hana," Leah whispered while leaning closer, "you looked really cool while floating around earlier... although honestly, your face made me want to pee myself a little."
"Leah!" they scolded in unison, making Hana let out a small laugh that ended in a wince due to the wound on her stomach.
In the midst of the long conversation filled with Anna's complaints about the messy schedule and her friends' silly jokes, the room door opened again without a knock.
A white-haired man with a mask and a black cloak stepped in with his hands in his pockets. His pace was very relaxed, as if he were taking a stroll in the park rather than entering a heavily guarded intensive care unit.
"Excuse me. It seems the party has already started, hasn't it?" the Teacher said with a light, annoying tone.
Everyone in the room fell silent. Hana's friends immediately grew wary, remembering that this was the man who had fought tooth and nail with Hana last night. However, the Teacher only gave a small wave toward Hana, who looked confused.
"Hi, Little Lady. Have you had enough sleep?"
Hana stared at the man with a blank gaze, trying to remember who this mysterious figure was, standing before her with an aura that was so calm yet incredibly powerful. Chapter one of Hana Mouri's normal life has ended.
