Chapter 48 - Extreme Speed, Aerial Giant

One thing ran through Maeginos's entire life: conspiracy. He had witnessed too much of it during his early years, when he was involved in party struggles. From that moment on, he had the urge to seize everything through conspiracies. He acted on this for hundreds of years.

Like a spider hiding in the shadows, he wove a web of conspiracies, then tore his enemies to pieces, one by one. Of course, this included not only his enemies, but also those close to him: his wife, his offspring.

Because of conspiracies, he obtained supreme power. To maintain this power, he used conspiracies to eliminate anyone who threatened him. Conspiracy was the epitome of his life, and because of this, he never trusted others.

Those who live by conspiracy always look at others with suspicion. Maeginos was such a person. From beginning to end, he only trusted himself; everyone else in his eyes was untrustworthy, whether they were enemies or friends, heroes or those around him.

So, the moment Zhou Yi spoke, he chose to refuse directly. As he said, he didn't trust anyone, and he never believed in the promises of others.

Zhou Yi had expected Maeginos's stubbornness, so he changed his approach. He held his arm over Nisha's head and said to Maeginos,

"Your daughter is in my hands, and she doesn't have any devices on her. Aren't you afraid that I'll kill her?"

"You can do as you please." Maeginos looked at his daughter with a playful expression. "My daughter has already changed, from the moment she returned. Moreover, for our kind, how can the affection of blood be compared to the sweetness of power?"

Maeginos' words made Zhou Yi feel disgusted. He released Nisha, whose eyes were filled with gloom, from his embrace. He spoke the following prophecy to Maeginos.

"Believe me, you won't live to see the dawn. If it were possible, I'd like to see you evaporate cleanly under the sun."

"That day won't come," Maeginos smiled, a smirk playing on his lips. He had boundless confidence in his survival.

Zhou Yi ignored the filthy, decaying creature. He shot into the sky, creating a massive surge of air from the ground and stirring up countless raging waves in the clouds. At this moment, he had already activated full speed.

Everything on the stage play was temporarily unrelated to him because of Maeginos' conspiracy. He had also been pulled onto another stage. Now, what he had to do was catch up with that plane in the shortest amount of time and find that vampire butler.

"Medusa, search for all flight routes from New York to London, and those planes that have already taken off."

Searching for a plane in the vast sky was no easy task, especially when the search criteria was from New York to London, and there was a black vampire named Asa involved.

Fortunately, Zhou Yi had a super AI named Medusa by his side. With Medusa's capabilities, the major US airlines were essentially defenseless. Their network security measures couldn't detect Medusa's entry at all. And soon, all the information Zhou Yi needed appeared before his eyes.

Summarizing the information he'd gotten from Medusa, Zhou Yi found there was good news and bad news. The good news was that due to a storm on the flight path, only one plane was heading to London today. The bad news was that this plane had already taken off eight hours ago, and who knew how a vampire had even gotten into the airport in the afternoon. But now, he was on that plane.

Zhou Yi didn't have time to dwell on it. He followed the plane's flight path, determined to solve the problem of the vampire butler before anything happened. Just as Maeginos didn't trust him, he didn't trust that Maeginos would stop his underhanded methods.

He had to sever all of his tentacles, to make him disappear completely before dawn.

What did a speed of Mach 25 mean? It meant Zhou Yi was moving at supersonic speeds. His speed exceeded 30,000 kilometers per hour, with a speed of over 8,000 meters per second. If such a speed were to be displayed realistically before human eyes, it would definitely exceed human imagination.

In the sky, he could tear through the clouds. If they were rain clouds, they would likely be disrupted by the high-speed wind pressure he generated. In other words, he could change a natural rainfall just by circling a few dozen times.

And on the ground, he would become the most violent disaster. The air currents he stirred up could very well form a hurricane, causing indiscriminate destruction to everything he passed. Houses would collapse, rivers would surge.

According to the ancient way of speaking, such ability was already at the level of gods who could move mountains and seas, control clouds and rain.

Under normal circumstances, this kind of speed would only appear between celestial bodies. Zhou Yi's supersonic speed was the first level of the speed of celestial body movement, the First Cosmic Velocity. This was the speed at which a spacecraft orbits the Earth, but in terms of speed, it had already reached a cosmic level.

At his current level, how long would it take Zhou Yi to catch up to an Airbus A380 that was about to arrive in London, having crossed an ocean? Not long at all. Medusa had already calculated the most precise answer: less than ten minutes.

The clouds split, and thunder rumbled. Soaring through the sky, riding the roaring thunder like a god, Zhou Yi seemed to understand why gods were revered. Because they could do things humans couldn't even imagine, just like him now. Parting the clouds, accompanied by thunder, he was, without a doubt, indistinguishable from a god in the eyes of ordinary people.

Since he was equivalent to a god, he should do what a god should do. He was going to save those ignorant humans, and his target was right before his eyes.

An Airbus A380, the latest giant passenger aircraft developed by Airbus France, and the passenger capacity champion of the world. This aerial behemoth was 73 meters long, with a wingspan of 79.8 meters, a height of 24.1 meters, and a wing area of 845 square meters, capable of carrying 555 passengers when fully loaded. This was the pinnacle of human aviation technology, but here, it had become the most advantageous tool for villains to threaten others.

Zhou Yi flew directly above the plane and used his super vision to scan every corner. He found Asa, but he didn't find the deadly substance Maeginos had mentioned. He didn't believe Maeginos was deceiving him; otherwise, there would have been no need to send away his most loyal subordinate. A simple pawn would have been enough.

Asa's presence was the most powerful proof of Maeginos's existence and his most powerful guarantee of threat. Only someone as loyal as Asa would be willing to do anything to complete Maeginos's orders.

All the problems were concentrated on Asa. Only in front of him would they know what dangerous things Maeginos had prepared.

Having thought this through, Zhou Yi flew to the side of the cabin door. He dared not just crash in like he usually did, to say the least. The danger of the plane going out of control was enough to dispel his idea. If a tragic event like the fuselage breaking occurred, it would be even more terrifying.

So he chose the safest method.

Using telekinesis, he manipulated the handle of the thick cabin door. The instant the door opened, Zhou Yi slipped inside and immediately closed it. The massive airliner shuddered slightly, and the passengers inside only felt a sudden gust of cold air.

Other than that, no one noticed Zhou Yi's entry. Well, not entirely no one. A female flight attendant pushing a trolley stared at Zhou Yi with wide eyes, clearly not having processed what just happened.

"Don't worry, I'll pay for a ticket," Zhou Yi said, unsure of what else to say. Fortunately, his playboy persona made it easy for him to break the ice with women.

The flight attendant, having regained her composure, clearly didn't care about Zhou Yi's offer to pay for a ticket. Instead, she excitedly approached him.

"Dawn Knight? I'm your fan! Can I get an autograph?"

Looking at the flight attendant, who seemed ready to take off her jacket so he could sign her underwear, Zhou Yi felt like the world was a small place. That he'd encounter a superhero worshiper in such a situation could only be attributed to bad luck.

He quickly stopped the flight attendant's frantic actions. He whispered, "There's a very dangerous person on the plane. I need you to contact the head flight attendant and help me out."

Listening to Zhou Yi's whispers, the flight attendant's eyes lit up. What could be more satisfying for a superhero fan than helping a superhero complete a mission to save humanity? There was naturally an answer to that, but it was something most superheroes couldn't do.

Asa was wrapped in a thick coat, his expression a mix of weariness and worry, like someone recovering from a serious illness. He wasn't sitting in first class as usual, but had chosen the more crowded economy class. The reason was simple: he was cooperating with Maeginos' plan, aiming to threaten the safety of more lives.

In the past two hundred years, he rarely left Maeginos under such dangerous circumstances. So, he was now very worried, not knowing what his master was currently facing. This worry made him glance at his watch from time to time; the steadily pulsating amplitude on the watch indicated that Maeginos' life was temporarily safe. And every time he saw this, he always had the urge to breathe a sigh of relief.

Perhaps because he was too focused, he didn't even notice the changes happening around him. Until a flight attendant walked up to the couple sitting next to him and said,

"Hello, excuse me. The plane just encountered some turbulence, which may have affected your checked luggage. If you don't mind, could you please check the condition of your luggage with our crew?"

Asa instinctively felt something was wrong, but he couldn't figure out what it was. It wasn't until the somewhat confused couple followed the flight attendant away that it hit him. When did planes start checking luggage like this, and people usually kept their carry-ons with them anyway?

Asa was suddenly startled and instinctively looked up. He found a large area around him had been cleared. While he wasn't paying attention, the flight attendants had cleared all the passengers around him. And the only person he could see very close to him was the black knight sitting behind him, facing away.

"Dawn Knight!" Asa felt extreme unease in his heart. He instinctively looked at his watch. The still-steady line meant that his biggest worry hadn't happened yet. He breathed a sigh of relief, then looked at Zhou Yi, who had walked in front of him, and stood up with a calm expression.

"I've been waiting for you for a long time. Dawn Knight!"
