Leonardo's POV
"What else did he do?" Cecile demanded.
The room held its breath, waiting for my response, but I stayed quiet. Tony jumped in to fill the silence.
"Cecile, over a month back, that crash at the racetrack wasn't some freak accident. Altair set the whole thing up. He paid someone to mess with the brakes, making them fail and causing the wreck. Altair orchestrated every bit of it."
Gasps echoed through the room.
"Altair! How could you commit such a vile act?"
Cecile's fury was unmistakable. She'd always held Altair in high regard. He'd seemed like the perfect grandson—careful, tactful, reliable.
She'd even considered handing him half the family empire someday. But now, why was he coming after me?
"Grandma! This is all wrong! I never hurt Leonardo! I swear on my life!" Altair shot back, denying everything.
He had no clue that Rey, the guy he'd bribed, had already skipped town. They couldn't dig up any solid proof tying him to the sabotage.
