Veronica's POV
The next morning, I had planned to take Daniel out with Brad and Joseph while Leonardo visited his aunt. But before I could head out, Leonardo called me over.
"Veronica, you should come with me."
"Don't you have Tony and the others?" I replied.
"Tony needs the day off. He's got family business to handle. Please, come with me," Leonardo pressed.
"Wasn't Tony an orphan? What family does he have?" I shot back, my memory catching the inconsistency in their story.
"Uh..." Tony stumbled, clearly unprepared. He seemed to have forgotten what they'd discussed about his background. Flustered, he stammered, "It's... It's true. I was raised in an orphanage, and that's what I call home."
"Exactly, Mr. Nelson is correct," Tony quickly added, trying to cover his tracks.
"What about Aarav and Floyd Dragon?" I pressed further.
"They're different, and you're different. Will you come with me or not?" Leonardo's patience was wearing thin.
