Helena's POV
After spending an entire hour reassuring Asher that I could handle being alone in my bedroom, he finally allows me to escape upstairs.
I returned from the hospital only an hour earlier, yet curious gazes keep drifting toward my bandaged arm. You would assume I had grown accustomed to being the outsider by this point, but witnessing fresh faces discover my abnormality never becomes easier. Rather than enduring their newly formed disgust toward me, I extract myself from the uncomfortable atmosphere and slip quietly up the staircase.
My bedroom remains in shambles since Alpha Leo tore it apart. Garments lie strewn across every surface, while my pillow appears to have been shredded beyond recognition. I will tackle the cleanup tomorrow; exhaustion weighs too heavily on me tonight. However, before I can collapse onto my mattress, I notice something awaiting my attention.
